Davina’s POV

“You bitch! You shoved me!”Stella yelled, but I said nothing, my expression remaining cold and indifferent.

“How dare you? Why would you push her?” Marie demanded angrily, stepping forward.

A faint smile tugged at the corner of my lips as I replied, keeping my head down. “I’m sorry, but you must have bumped into me. As you can see, I’m blind. I can’t really see where I’m going.”

“You… you…” Marie stuttered, seemingly at a loss for words.

"Fucking bitch," Stella growled, and I heard her scramble to her feet, rushing toward me with the intent to hit. I closed my eyes, not flinching from the incoming slap. If hitting me would calm her down, then so be it—I had been through worse.

But it never came.

“B-beta” I heard Stella gasp in fear.

"What do you think you're doing? Is this what happens in the palace?" Draven asked, his tone cold and sharp. I heard people scurrying away to avoid getting caught in the commotion.

"Didn't you hear the king has called for everyone, or do you n

A few hours ago. Draven’s POV “Werewolves are stronger than humans. They heal faster, move quicker, and live longer. But they are not immortals.” “Two years ago, my mate died from an illness. There was no cure, and despite everything I did, I couldn’t save her. When she died, I was left with nothing—just a shell of my former self. I didn’t go to the palace for a month. Instead, I shut myself away from the world, from the king.” “Exactly one month later, the king showed up at my doorstep. When I saw him, I thought, Ah, he’s here to kill me for my disobedience. But to my surprise, instead of delivering my expected punishment, he brought two bottles of alcohol and said, “Let’s drink—and then you’re coming back to the palace.” “I followed the king to the palace, leaving behind the cup of wolfsbane and a suicide letter, and from that day, I promised myself that my purpose would be solely to serve the king, to protect him, eliminate all threat even if it meant sacrificing my life.” “B

Hades POV"Bring in the traitor," I commanded coldly, leaning back against the chair. All eyes turned toward the door as two guards dragged the traitor into the hall. Gasps of shock rippled through the once-quiet room as everyone stared in horror at the sight before them.I tapped my fingers rhythmically on the armrest, my gaze shifting to the figure now sprawled before me. I tilted my head, studying his battered state. One ear had been ripped apart, deep slashes crisscrossed his body, one eye was swollen shut, and a gruesome mark from a branding iron marred his chest. His shallow, labored breaths were the only sign he was still alive.I couldn’t help but feel a flicker of admiration for Draven’s brutality—it was thorough, almost artful though he wasn't as brutal as Cyrus but that was why I had ordered him to do it this time around.I needed the bastard alive for this moment.I had ordered Draven to interrogate two people: the royal chef and the guard who handed Felix the keys while

Cyrus POV "Let her go, or I will tear you apart," I growled, my voice echoing menacingly through the hall. Rage consumed me, and all I could see was red—blood and his severed head in my hands. I will kill him for laying his filthy hands on her. "King Cyrus..." I heard Draven mutter, but I didn’t tear my gaze away from her. My eyes stayed locked on the rat as his widened in fear. His hand trembled as he pressed the knife closer to her throat, drawing blood that trickled down her neck. She was scared. I could see it in her eyes, no matter how calm her expression appeared, and that only fueled the surge of killing intent within me. "Don't kill him... not yet," Hades' voice echoed in my mind, forcing me to narrow my eyes. My muscles tensed as I wrestled for control, using every ounce of my strength to rein myself in. It was a battle, but I refused to lose. Not now. “I will kill him, Hades,” I said, standing my ground as a slow smirk spread across my lips. Tilting my head, I continued

Davina’s POV I managed to open my eyes and groaned as I sat up, trying to recall what had happened yesterday. When the memories came rushing back, I frowned. I had been held hostage yesterday. So much had happened—it began with Draven announcing someone’s execution, followed by the agonizing gasps of the condemned, which left me trembling. Before I knew it, I was taken hostage, a knife pressed to my neck. Of course. Another thing I remembered was Hades threatening the man to let me go, and then— I held my head and groaned. Everything was so fuzzy. I raised my hand to my neck, fighting the urge to curse my luck. I would have died if it hadn’t been for Draven. I couldn’t recall the last thing that happened, but I remembered that just before the knife could pierce me, Draven had saved me. His voice whispered that everything was okay, and then I passed out. I stretched out my hands, feeling around me. I was in my room. Did that mean everything had turned out okay yesterday? Eva. Her

Evangeline's POV“Daddy, please. Can I just come with you? I promise I won’t do anything, I would just be a good girl,” I pleaded, my lips forming a perfect pout as I stared at him. But, as usual, he didn’t even look up from the papers on his desk.“Daddy, I’m talking to you! Please, I really want to meet the king today. Can I go with you to the palace?” This time, I clung to his arm, swinging it side to side with a sheepish smile, hoping to break his resolve. Yet again, I was ignored. Like I was invisible!I hated being ignored. What I despised even more was not getting what I wanted.“I’m talking to you! Stop acting like you can’t hear me!” I shrieked, my frustration boiling over as I grabbed the files from his desk and flung them to the floor. Papers scattered in every direction, but I wasn’t done. “Listen to me when I’m talking! I already said I was sorry for last time!”I reached for more things to throw—pens, folders, anything within reach. When there was nothing left, I turned

Davina’s POV“Come in,” I heard Hades' cold voice from behind the door, and my heart involuntarily skipped a beat. Taking a deep breath, I opened the door and stepped inside.“Your Majesty, I’m here to bring your shirt,” I murmured under my breath, my voice barely audible. I felt his sharp gaze flicker toward me, but then he turned away, acting as though I wasn’t there. Keeping my head lowered, I walked to the bed, my hand stretching forward as I carefully set the freshly ironed shirt down from the tray I was holding.I turned to leave, but his voice stopped me in my tracks. Quickly, I turned around and bowed, though his next words made my eyebrows arch in surprise.“Come here and help me change.”I gasped at the unexpected request. Helping him change wouldn’t have been unusual—I was a servant, after all, and assisting the king with his needs was part of my duties. But what startled me was that Hades had ignored me for the past three days since the attack. Whenever I came to his chamb

Davina’s POV A scream tried to escape my lips, but all I could manage was a sharp gasp. I shut my eyes and braced myself for the inevitable fall, but before I could hit the ground, a firm hand seized my arm, halting me mid-descent. “Oh goddess, you have to be careful,” an unfamiliar female voice said lightly behind me. “It could be really dangerous if you fell, you could break a bone or two, or worse, you could die.” It wasn’t a mistake. That was the first thought that came to my mind. It couldn’t be—because it was a deliberate shove from behind. “Are you okay? You were just about to fall,” the person asked with a sigh, pulling me to safety. I would have believed it was a sincere question if it weren’t for the slight excitement and mockery dripping from her voice. I clenched my fist by my side and took a deep breath to calm myself. I didn’t want to react, not like I did with Stella and Marie. I couldn’t afford anyone finding out about my identity, so I had to be careful. “Thank

He jabbed me in the side with his elbow, nearly knocking the wind out of me. “Well? Is she here?”I groaned, clutching my ribs. “I don’t know, and I don’t want to know. Last time I checked, my job description didn’t include bait for little demons.” I whispered and his highness turned to me, his eyes narrowing like he was plotting something. “Go check, Draven.” “Nope. Not happening.” I shook my head so hard it was a miracle my neck didn’t snap. “I can’t do it, Your Highness. Please I like being alive.”He jabbed me again and smirked with an eyeroll. “You’re exaggerating. Just go look!” “I’m not exaggerating. 10 years agoHades povEverything was supposed to be boring today. That was why I had escaped from the hunting game to sneak in some sleep. But as I looked at the girl groaning while trying to sit up on the ground, I couldn’t help but feel amused—and a little intrigued.Usually, people would fawn over me and bend to my every whim, eager to please and let me have whatever I desired. At first, it was thrilling—having everything handed to me without question. But over time, it grew tiresome, predictable, and unbearably dull. Then, when I was named the next in line to be the Lycan King, it only got worse. Suddenly, the world’s eyes were on me, every move scrutinized, every word echoed back like gospel. It was suffocating, maddening—a constant pressure that left no room to breathe, let alone be myself."Are you crazy?!" the girl snapped, her eyes narrowing into a sharp glare as she shot up so quickly I could hear the sound of her bones cracking. She froze at the noise, her mouth opening an

10 years agoDavina pov“Help! Help me!” I screamed, clutching the tree branch as if my life depended on it. And, well, if you think about it, it really did. Because once I let go of this branch, I'd either fall to my doom or take a nasty tumble that would probably involve some broken bones and a very bruised ego. My breath was coming in panicked gasps, my heart was beating a little faster than necessary, and I was starting to question how I ended up in such a ridiculous situation.“I hate you for luring me into this trap!” I hissed, glaring at the bird in my hand, which I had somehow named Shelly—yes, Shelly. I don’t know why, I just did. Shelly, the bird who led me up this towering tree that I was now precariously clinging to, barely holding on for dear life. How did I end up here? How did a ten-year-old even climb this tree without being completely ridiculous?Well, it all started innocently enough. I was walking along with the maids and my utterly annoying, spoiled four-year-old y

Davina povToday had been... something.Breakfast with the king had been weird, to say the least. And I’m not only talking about the Alpha seated beside me who couldn’t stop boasting about how powerful and wealthy he was. I maintained respect and control, nodding politely as he spoke. But at some point, when his hand slid under the table, grazing closer and closer to my inner thigh, that control began to slip.I froze, my breath hitching as I struggled to decide what to do. My throat felt tight, and no words came to mind. I thought I’d have to endure it, to sit there silently and take it, when suddenly, Hades’ laugh rang through the hall.It wasn’t the kind of laugh that brought joy or eased tension. No, it was dry, devoid of humor, and cold enough to send a shiver down my spine.I quickly realized something bad was about to happen. It always did when he laughed like that. What was going to happen."Goodnight, Davina," Eva said softly, her hand gently patting my head as she tucked me

Hades povI watched as her eyes widened in horror, glancing toward my direction. For a moment, I couldn’t help but wonder if she could truly see, given how accurately she could pinpoint where someone was based on their gaze. The other alphas at the table exchanged glances between her and me, their expressions a mixture of curiosity and confusion. None of them dared to start eating—not yet, not until I took the first bite. They called it respect, but honestly, I couldn’t care less about their so-called etiquette. My attention was solely on her.Earlier, I had been curious about how she would react to the whispers and venomous words thrown her way. I thought it might be amusing to see her squirm under the weight of their stares, to watch her falter. But as each second passed, I realized how wrong I was. My restraint was slipping, and with every insult, my urge to silence those disrespectful fools grew stronger. I was close—so close—to having their heads roll off the ground until Draven

Davina povThe silence seemed like it would stretch on for an eternity, but then, like the flick of a switch, the murmurs and hushed whispers began as I stood frozen in place, unable to move under his intense gaze."Is that the blind girl the king likes?" A woman's voice cut through the chatter, her tone low but loud enough for me to hear as her eyes sized me up like I was some strange exhibit at a zoo."I mean, it must be her. Who else have you seen with white hair and eyes like hers?" Another voice scoffed, and I could practically feel her eyes burning holes into me.What did the king even see in her? I heard she was a servant before this. She looks like a freak. And she’s blind, isn’t she?" The biting words from the women surrounded me, their judgment clear as daylight. Then came the men."Damn, she looks hot. Look at those curves in that dress," one male voice commented shamelessly, sparking a burst of laughter from the others."I can see why the king’s interested. She’s... unique

Davina pov“Wake up, sleepyhead!” I groaned as Eva yanked the blanket off me, I could practically hear the happiness dripping from her voice as she shook me awake but all I wanted to do was bury myself back under the covers and drown out her annoyingly high-pitched voice, but her next words jolted me awake faster than a bucket of cold water.“Today is the hunting day, dearest madam, and guests from all the packs are already arriving!”The second those words left her mouth, I shot up so fast I nearly fell out of bed but Eva, ever the lifesaver, caught me before I hit the floor.Today is the hunting game! And I overslept.Panic surged through me as I whipped my head toward the spot where Hades had been sleeping last night, but the bed was empty. Of course, he’d gotten up early and left. This wasn’t the first time he’d come to my room, and it wasn’t the first time I’d overslept because of him.It was his scent—it lingered in my room and wrapped around me like a cocoon, chasing away the

The silence stretched endlessly, much like the pile of work that never seemed to stop growing. And the reason for this endless workload? The hunting game set to begin tomorrow. A competition where all the packs would showcase their strengths, tactics, and skills. It would stretch on for an entire week—seven days of utter stress, interruptions, and unwanted company. The three things I despised most.“Pfft, we have events like this every year! All the packs always show up. Why does Dad insist on going through all this trouble? I’m sure half of them don’t even want to be there!”The memory of those careless words I once said to him flashed through my mind, and my eyes narrowed into a dangerous glare.
