ROWAN

The ceremony came to an end much faster than I expected, all the hard work put into making it a success were productive.

My days as the ‘acting’ alpha were over, I am now officially, the Alpha of Cold Moon pack. I felt different now, maybe it was the feeling that came with being an Alpha. I smirked.

“My Alpha,” my Luna called sweetly, her eyes appealing to me seductively. I smiled at the beautiful woman sitting on the edge of my bed and was tempted to join her. But Echo, my wolf, gave a low growl of disapproval, he wanted his mate.

With a shake of my head, I stepped forward and leaned to kiss her on the forehead.

“Not tonight, Lisa.” I uttered softly, wiping the sweet smile off her face.

Her eyebrows shot up at me questionably, “How do you mean?” She cupped my chin, drawing me closer to herself gently.

“We should consummate our mating process tonight.” She pouted.

“You're right! But not tonight.” The disbelief on her face was slowly turning to a frown.

“Baby, we've had previous nights before this and we had spent the whole day together.” I explained, hoping she would understand.

“I just need to go see Olivia because… “Your wolf needs her. Isn't it?” She spat out, cutting me short.

She climbed the bed in a haste pulling the thick blanket over her body. “Go meet your mate, then.” She hissed.

A part of me wanted to join her on the bed and coax her to sleep, but my wolf was already going crazy for his mate.

With a shrug, I abruptly leave the room determined to see Olivia. My sweet mate.

I've had enough of Lisa for the past few days without a glimpse of Olivia's gorgeous face. Mom kept me very busy with familiarizing over pack duties in preparation for my coronation. Lisa was with me all through as she was also familiarizing herself with her duties as Luna. We’ve had more than enough of ourselves these few days.

I had no time for any other person, I barely had my own time even. Kyle my beta had informed me that Olivia had been indoors for the most part of these few days, a part of me also felt she deliberately avoided me. Whatever it was, I was going to see her now and everything would be sorted out.

I sure as hell needed my mate tonight. As the new alpha of Cold Moon pack, it would be a great start to have my first night as the alpha with my fated mate, a small smile played on my lip at the thought.

My wolf would be greatly pleased and become stronger as the alpha which was a good thing itself. It will in turn strengthen the pack.

A small smile appeared on my face as I thought about my position. I am one lucky hell of a man.

I had two gorgeous beauties to myself, courtesy of my mom of course. Was that not what every man desired? I gloated in satisfaction as I came to a halt at her doorstep.

Her intoxicating scent of lavender and rosewater filled my nostrils and I burst into her room without walking as I did not see the need to. She was mine. My fated one.

I could make out her silhouette in the dark as she frantically got up from her bed and scrambled to turn on the lights.

“Via,” I called in a husky voice, with my eyes glazing over her body lustfully. I could see her flawless skin under the black see through nightie she put on. She stood straight and hugged her elbows, obstructing my view of her bountiful breasts as she shot me a questioning look.

“What are you doing in my room?” She snarled, taking me aback.

“Calm down.” I said as I stared hungrily at her luscious body. “I know you're mad at me for ignoring you these few days, but I've been very busy with taking over the pack.” I offered an explanation. She seemed to have no words to say as she continued to stare at me.

“Trust me baby, it wasn't my doing.” I breathed out, and stepped forward to grab her. She surprisingly dodges her way out of my arms in one swift move. This only fueled my desire the more. The desire to have her. She was making it a challenge.

“I see, you want me to chase you, hunh? He asked with a sick grin. What was wrong with Rowan? I stared at him disdainfully.

How sick of him to think that I would be willing to share my space with him while he is mated to someone else.

I tried my best to stay away from him since the day of Luna Claire's pronouncement. I had no interest in becoming anyone's side piece let alone my mate. The one the moon goddess had destined for me.

Ava had perked up at the sight of her mate causing me to roll my eyes. Her desire for her mate was still as strong as ever even though I had lost interest in being with Rowan the moment he marked Lisa as his Luna. There was only one man who had my interest at the moment, the Lycan Prince.

It's been hours after the coronation ceremony and the image of the Lycan Prince still popped into my thoughts every passing minute. My body shuddered just at the thought of him.

What was wrong with me? I sighed, remembering that Rowan was still in my room. I took a more comfortable position as my legs were growing numb from standing at a spot for long. Rowan observed me with curiosity.

“What’s the problem, Via?” He broke the silence and I frowned. His question annoyed me.

How couldn't he see the problem here? He had marked a she-wolf just this evening and in hours he was in another's room expecting to be received with open arms.

Fury built up inside of me again and I wondered what his brain was made of. Muddy water? Nothing was a problem to him.

“You wish to have it all, right?” I spat at him. “Your Luna, your mate, the pack. You want them all. I applaud your wishful thinking.” I made a face and clapped my hands gently. Something flashed in his eyes.

“But that would be all that would become of it. Wishes.” His hungry gaze had turned cold. He shot me a death glare releasing his alpha aura on me but I returned his glare defiantly. I could stand his aura because of the mate bond.

Then I thought, was the prince also my mate seeing as I was able to stand his Lycan aura for a split second? I wanted to smack myself at that crazy thought. Right. I was going crazy, I sighed.

“I, Olivia Redwood, reject you, Alpha Rowan Blackthorn as my mate and alpha.” The words slipped out of my mouth before I could stop them. Ava gave a loud howl of excruciating pain in my head. She tried to take control of my body and I put a block between us. Her tantrums were the last thing I needed at the moment.

Rowan's eyes flashed again and burned with anger, scaring me for a moment. Then without a word, he stormed out, slamming the door shut behind him with a resounding thud.

I gave a sigh of relief as I retired to my bed. The image of the Lycan Prince flashed through my mind again. The feel of his hand brushing against mine when he held me from falling still lingered.

This time I let my thoughts wander, I desperately needed a distraction from the burning pain in my heart. Images of me being in indecent positions with him flooded my mind. I imagined those big hands running through my whole body doing things that no one had ever done to me.

“Come off it, Olivia.” I reprimanded myself, shocked at the height of my immoral thoughts. My body burned, but this time, with desire.

I rushed into the bathroom to take a cold shower. I pushed those erotic thoughts down my mind as the droplets of cold water ran down my body.

Just as I stepped out of the bathroom, a shadow passed by my window in a flash. “Who's there?” I screamed.

OLIVIA Tracy sat upright, her arms folded across her chest with beads of sweat trailing down her face in the fully air-conditioned office. Although she tried so hard to keep her expression masked, her nails unconsciously dug into her skin betraying her nervousness with her gaze darting around the office settling on anywhere but the persons in the office. Lily and I both sat across Cara in her office with just a desk separating us. Cara had specifically asked to handle this case and was obliged as the King and other high ranking members had much more herculean tasks on their plate. Thankfully, Lily had listened to Cara by sorting it out first with her mate. And just like Cara insinuated, the young lady was actually Macmillan’s ex. They had a clean break up a few years ago and no longer had any string attached. Normal people would do away with the things that reminded them of their exes and so it was with Macmillan and his ex, maybe almost as a certain blond was never okay with lett

And Olivia, I just hope my brother does nothing to upset her today. I really do hope.Ever since we got back from the mall, I've locked myself up in my room with a standing order that I need to be left alone. Everyone knows me well and they also know that me, being left alone would be in their best interest. So it's just me alone, caught up in a tangled web of emotions. Whether it was the fact that I had not expected to run into my mate or I was finding it hard to process how my first meeting with my mate was nothing exciting, one thing bothered me more - my mate's seeming indifferenc

  • The Lycan Prince's Mate    CHAPTER FIFTY SEVEN

OLIVIA Lily passed the phone to Cara with shaky hands, her tears brimming her eyelids as she fought to hold them in.The moment a gasp left Cara's lip, I knew what she had seen was pretty shitty. She passed the phone to me without a single word. “What. The. Fuck.” I inhaled a sharp breath, speechless as my eyes viewed a short video clip of Macmillan with a certain girl, possibly a lycan- I could tell from her pale smooth skin and really long legs. The said girl in the video showed herself lying on Mac's chest probably after an exhausting round of love making. And what’s more shitty was that it came with a text that read: “YOUR MATE IS CHEATING ON YOU. The lovebirds are out in a cozy place, having the best time of their lives. Care to know where? Meet me at the old library in 20 minutes.” “You know what, I'll be on my way now.” Lily choked in between sobs. She grabbed her purse and snatched her phone from my hand as she sprang up to her feet. Cara and I both scrambled to our feet

OLIVIA I narrowed my gaze at Cara who only seemed to enjoy fueling my skepticism the more with her smug expression. That was His Majesty’s credit card right there in her outstretched hand. It was the only Gold plated card in the whole of the Southern lycan territory and it had an unlimited threshold. It was already in Cameron's possession as it would soon be handed over to him anyway when he ascended the throne. But how did she get her hands on it?“Don't tell me you picked up this card without his notice.” I shot her a knowing look. I wouldn't put it past her to have taken it without Cameron's knowledge. Not like Cameron was going to do anything about it though. My mate was really having it tough keeping up with his sister's craziness and honestly, I sometimes felt for him even though I wish I had a younger sister too. “Well, let's just say we received special orders to take you shopping.” Lily announced, a glint of amusement twinkling in her eyes as her lips curled up into a wide

  • The Lycan Prince's Mate    CHAPTER FIFTY FIVE

OLIVIA The furious banging on the door alongside the sound of the doorbell woke me up. Cameron’s side of the bed was empty. I quickly understood that he must have gone to attend to pack duties even though we barely slept last night and needed to have a proper rest. Not like I did not have a good time last night, as a matter of fact, I did enjoy every bit of our sleeplessness. I yawned, stretching my body before sliding out of the sheets to go open the door for whoever it was on the other side. I wouldn't put it past Cara, she rarely used the doorbell. Banging on the door was her usual and she knew it annoyed the hell out of her brother. Lily was the first to barge into the room as soon as I opened the door. “Oh,”I muttered, I had almost forgotten she had gotten so acquainted with Cara as the both ladies had almost the same personalities. Cara, even as a princess, had this charming and approachable demeanor that made others warm up to her so easily. I would have said she was too ea

  • The Lycan Prince's Mate    CHAPTER FIFTY FOUR

OLIVIA I emerged from the bathroom with a bathrobe hanging loosely around my body. A good shower was useful after my altercation with Claire earlier today. Right now, I need to be with my mate. With all that had happened since we got to Silverton Kingdom, we could both use a good release. My mate had been too occupied with the whole saga with the rogues and it's finally good that it was all over. I walked past my mate while he stretched lazily on the couch right after he had showered. He looked particularly delicious in his signature grey sweatpants with his bare chest inviting me in for a treat. “Cameron.” I called out to him, dropping the bathrobe on the floor the moment he looked up. I took a step forward, studying him closely and noticing how his eyes held pure hunger and lust for me as he took me all in.He got up to reach out for me and I made to flee but he was too fast for me, already wrapping me with his arms in a flash.“Shouldn’t you be busy by now?” I suggested provocat
