Nova’s pov
I trailed quietly behind the guards that were leading me to where I was going to meet my doom. After the Lycan king left hours ago, he had these two hefty men guard my door till the break of dawn making it impossible for me to escape. My body still ached from the bruises he left on me, I was been tortured by a Lycan which made it hard to heal quickly. My throat hurt so much but I couldn't do anything about it, since my hands were tied to my back.We got to the front of a huge double door and the guards stopped in front of the door. I need no one to tell me that we have got to where we were heading.“Go in!” One of the guards spoke up for the first time, I squinted my eyes, unable to believe that I would be going in all by myself.“Sorry? Won't you be going in with me?” I panicked in fear, I didn't know why but I preferred being with the deadly-looking guards to being in a room with the Lycan King, all by myself. The guard didn't say anything, instead, he opened the door and signalled for me to go in.“I don't…”I was pushed in before I could complete my speech and I fell to the floor. I winced in pain when my body hit hard on the floor.“Nova,”“Princess!”I never knew anyone was inside the room aside from that beast, until I heard those voices I could recognise anywhere. I lifted my gaze to see my parents kneeling in front of the beast that called himself the nation king.We were in a room that had no appliances, aside from a wooden chair that the beast was sitting on.“Mom! Dad!” I cried out, I tried getting up from the floor but it was impossible since my hands were still tied to my back.“Nova,” Mom sobbed quietly, and I bit my lip in sorrow. Mom couldn't come to help me up, I felt bitter and I wish I had the power to kill that beast, but what could a girl like me possibly do? Absolutely nothing!“Princess, can you stand up?” Dad asked worriedly I was very sure he was in tears already.“Yes. Yes, I'm fine, I can get up.” I groaned and sat on my butt, I lifted my eyes to see the Lycan king staring darkly at me, he didn't say anything but just watched my family grieve in pain.“Randale?” the Lycan king called, making us dart our gazes at him.“Now that your sweet little thing is here, would you answer my question?” he got up from the seat and moved towards my dad who trembled in fear.“I swear I was telling the truth.” Dad wept bitterly and I looked away from him, I couldn't bring myself to watch my father begging for his life.“Really?” he smirked, squatting in front of my father. “Radale, for the second time, who's that little thing you sent to me?” He howled, gripping Dad’s neck, threatening to rip it off.“I’m sorry!” that was the only thing Dad could muttered, I sat there on the floor, watching my dad wail like a child, I clenched my fist as anger surged through me.“Bring her in!”The door pushed open and I felt someone fell beside me on the floor, I was so scared that I couldn't look at the person.“Who do you think that is?” the Lycan king barked and I jumped in fright.“Tam… Tamsyn!” Mom and Dad gasped in unison and I hastily moved my gaze to the person beside me, only to see my sister lying helplessly on the floor next to me.“Tam!” I yelled and tapped her with my feet, she burst into tears without getting up from the floor. She looked weary with dried blood were all over her ripped dress.“He’s dead, Nova! They killed him!” she cried and snuggled into my lap.“Him?” I arched my brows, “Him? Him, your boyfriend?” I gasped and she continued crying on my lap.I felt like everything was my fault, if I hadn't told Nova to run away, if I hadn't gotten myself involved in this, if I hadn't agreed with my parents to come here none of these would have happened.“Now that you have known your crime I shall pass my judgment.” the Lycan king stepped away from Dad and sat back on the seat.“Please, give me a chance to correct my mistake.” Dad pleaded, I felt my breath hitched hearing that from Dad. He seemed scared of the judgment the beast wouldvpass onto us.“For failing to have your species obey the rules, and for plotting a scheme on your King…” he paused midway through his sentence and I felt balls of sweat roll down my face.“I shall behead you in front of the nation and your pack will be ruled by my kind. Your wife will be sent to exile and your daughters…”“No, you can't do that!” I didn't know where I got the courage from. I stood up from the floor and walked up to him.The room was dead silent, I could no longer hear the muffled cries of my father. The Lycan King’s eyes were burning with fury for interrupting his speech.“Who are you to question me?” He howled angrily, his face red with rage and his fists clenched tightly.“Because I am your wife and you are to treat my family with respect,” I yelled at his face, his face went pale and I saw the corner of his lips curved in a deadly grin.“Wife you said! Since when have you been bearing that title?” he asked with a little bit of amusement in his tone.“I have become your wife, right from the moment you have my father signed those documents and you are not to go against your words, only if you wish to break your own rules,” I smirked back at him, his mouth clamped shut for a second, and I thought he had given in to my tricks.“Guards!” He barked and two men rushed inside the room, their heavy boots on the ground made the ground shake like it was going to crumble.“Take them to the dungeon. Strip and lash the father in front of his wife and daughter.” His voice sounded like the growl of a mighty beast, fierce and uncompromising. The two men drags my family out and I couldn't turn to have a look. I was responsible for their punishment and I felt ashamed that I couldn't bring myself to look at their faces.“Now, dear wife,” The Lycan King stood up from the wooden chair and cup my cheeks in his hands.“I’m letting it slide this time because you're my wife-to-be and you're yet to learn the basic principles of the Royal.” he ran his fingers on my face and my stomach churned in disgust.I wished he would realise how disgusted I felt by having his fingers on my face. I couldn't say anything, I let him do as he pleased and he stopped when he realised I wasn't going to bicker with him.“Take her to my room, I shall teach her a lesson never to go against her husband.”My legs gave way and I fell on my knees. I thought the ground should just be opened and swallow me whole.‘To his room’, I kept on repeating that until I felt a pair of hands wrapped around my arms.“I will escort you to the Lycan King’s bed chamber.”The room was getting stuffy and I found it difficult to breathe.Prescott’s povI stepped out of the room, after instructing Randale’s Princess to head to my room, I didn't know why I said that, but I wasn't thinking straight then.“Hey, summon the Elders to the courtroom,” I instructed Wharton, the Royal Beta through the mind link and I closed the link immediately I said that.I was going to do what they want and not the way they want it, if the elders disagree with me this time, then I would have no choice but to give them early retirement and rule the nation on my own.For the past few years, I have had enough of them, lecturing me on how to rule the nation because I was not a family man.“Give me a goddamn fucking break!” Wharton's hoarse voice howled through my mind and I looked around but couldn't find him anywhere.“Thought I closed the link?” I groaned, walking outside of the office building to where the courtroom was located in the inner part of the Royal walls.“Do I need your goddamn approval before I mind link with you?” I couldn't see
Nova’s povThe guard brought me to a dark hallway that seemed like no one was there. I quietly trailed behind him, looking everywhere with my heart beating rapidly. We stopped in front of a huge double door and the guard stopped on his track. I glanced at the lone hallway and I wondered what we were doing in such a place.“We are here. Please head inside.” the guard told me to go in. I arched my brows and he flashed me a toothy smile.“This is the Lycan King’s chamber. He asked me to bring you here, remember that? Please go in and wait for him.” he stretched his hand and opened the door for me.“Oh,” I sighed, “are you sure I can go in?” I asked him, the chilling aura of the place gave me a reason to doubt the guard.‘Was he here to kill me? Did that beast order him to kill me here? Why is no one in here, those were the questions that I kept asking myself.“Please go in,” he repeated when he realised that I wasn't making any attempt to head inside.“Why?” I grabbed the doorknob from h
Prescott’s povOnce the Princess left my room, I picked up the necklace from the bedding and brought it closer to my nose. I inhaled the scent and let out a hearable grunt.Alas, the scent was never the same. Instead of the herbal scent of my Mom, it was filled with the Princess’s floral scents. Her scent was so strong that I felt my wolf howl to her scent.I sighed and dropped the necklace back on the bedding. I undid the buttons of my shirt and pulled it off my body. I loosen the buckle of my belt and dragged the dark jeans off.I strolled to the bathroom to wash. After taking a few minutes in the bathroom, I walked out of the shower and headed straight to the closet.I pulled out a dark washed jeans and hastily slid my feet into them, I grabbed a black T-shirt and put it on. Checking myself in the mirror to see if there was anything I was missing out.My jet black hair was styled to the back, leaving few strands on both sides of my face. The T-shirt was big enough to cover my should
Nova’s povThe air felt so suffocating and I felt a burning feeling in my chest. My neck hurt so badly and I was feeling miserable as I walked down the hallway that lead to the outside of the Lycan King's chamber. It was when I was completely out of his quarter that I began to see people scurrying into the compound. The outside of the Lycan King’s quarter and the inside seemed like two different worlds to me.All the people that I passed by stared at me weirdly and I didn't realise all that was happening until I got to the room that was given to me.The first thing I noticed was the door, the Lycan King broke it down last night and it was like that till I left in the morning. Now, the door has been fixed and I sighed in relief.I headed straight to the full-length mirror only to see another version of myself. The upper part of my dress was damped with my blood, my hair was tangled which made me look like a slave.Dry blood has made my black hair turn wine. I sniffed and wiped away my
Prescott’s povSitting on the swirl chair behind the huge table in my office, with tons of documents lying carelessly on the table. I picked up the last document and signed it, with a smug on my face.“Just wait until the coronation is over, I would take over everything,” I smirked to myself, gathering the documents together. The door flung open and cherry blossom scents filled the air. I already knew who it was, with the pair of her heels clicking aggressively on the marble floor.“Oh, my Prescott!” Ulrica beamed with a smile, her voice sounded through the room.I hastily shoved the documents under a folder before moving my gaze to her, Ulrica was looking more ravishing over the years.“Ulrica!” I stood up from the seat and stretched out my arms for her, Ulrica smiled brightly before running into my open arms.“How have you been?” she disengaged from the hug, stood on her toes and pecked me on my cheeks.“Been well.” I took a few steps back and threw my hands inside my pant pocket. S
Nova’s povA light yet hearable knock was what woke me up from sleep. I tossed and rolled out of bed to get the door for whoever was by the door.I slid my feet into the flip-flop that was laid beside the table, I rubbed my sleepy eyes with the back of my hand and dragged my feet towards the door.I gripped the doorknob and opened the door. A woman whom I assumed to be in her early 50s, gave a slight bow before entering the room, followed by three other unfamiliar ladies that quietly trailed behind her.“Good morning, Princess Nova.” the woman greeted and I bowed to her in respect. “My name is Anika, and I'm the head maid for the Royals,” she added and I nodded my head.I didn't know where she was heading with her introduction, but I wished she could just do whatever she came to do, so I could go back to sleep.“Yes, head maid Anika, how may I help you?” I yawned, rubbing my eyes with my index fingers.“It’s Coronation Day, and I came in person to get you to dress for your Coronation.
Prescott’s povI stood in front of the window, my back on Ulrica who sat on my bed with her leg crossed. She had a cup of popcorn in her hands, and she noisily munched on her popcorn, interrupting my thoughts.I signed and propped my elbow on the window. Gazing out of the window to see a bunch of people scurrying around the compound to get things done before the coronation would start.I could hear voices, coming from the room opposite mine. The room that has been empty for years will be occupied today, by the nation's Queen. The thought of having a woman closer to me, for the rest of my life, gave me a feeling of uncertainty. The wall clock kept tickling, reminding me that I would officially become a family man before the end of the day. “So, you wouldn't tell me who your wife is, would you?” Ulrica stopped munching on her popcorn, she dropped the cup on the nightstand table which made an annoying sound.“I have nothing to say to you.” I groaned, I checked my wristwatch and a light
Nova’s povMom and Dad left a while ago after telling me that he Lycan King sent an invitation. They left for the ballroom, leaving me all alone to myself, the room was eerily quiet and I moved towards the window to have a look at my surroundings. The garment feels heavy and I found it difficult to walk in it.“Why do Lycans always make their dress this difficult to wear?” I grabbed the tip of each side of the dress and strolled to the window.“Woah! They're here already?” my eyes widened, seeing Anike all dressed up in a fine purple dress, with two maids strolling behind her.I moved away from the window and stood at the centre of the room, a knock came on the door and I took a deep breath before ushering them in.“My princess,” Anika greeted with a slight bow, the same thing with the two maids. “The guests have arrived at the ballroom, it's time for you to exit your room.” Her face lit up with a heartwarming smile, I rubbed my sweaty palms together and nodded my head.“Did my parent
Nova’s POV “Has she been given a name?” I asked, gazing down at my niece's tiny hand, her tiny fingers wrapped around my pinky. She was the most precious thing I had ever seen, and I couldn't help but feel a surge of love for her. Tamsyn shook her head, her eyes never leaving her daughter's face. “No, we haven't given her a name yet,” she said, her voice soft and full of wonder. “I was so sure it would be a boy, and I'd been planning to name him after his father. But now...I'm at a loss. I don't know what to name her.” She paused, her gaze shifting to meet mine. “I want her name to be perfect, to capture everything she is.” “What about Dahlia?” Prescott spoke up for the first time since we got to the pack and I had to turn around to stare at my husband from where he was standing at the far end of the room. “Dahlia?” I asked, not believing Prescott would want to take up the task of naming my niece. “Why Dahlia?” Tamsyn asked from where she was lying down on the hospital bed.
Ulrica’s POV“Don't tell me you're still sulking over the fact that your crush chose some cock over you?” I asked, my lips parting in disbelief as I watched Shayna continue to give everyone the cold shoulder. I couldn't help but burst out laughing - the whole situation was just too ridiculous. How could she be so upset over something so trivial? I mean, sure, getting rejected by your crush is never easy, but it's not like it's the end of the world. There are plenty of other fish in the sea! Everest groaned from where she sat, patting Shayna on the back. “Oh, please. That's rich coming from you.” she scoffed.“Don’t act all innocent. You chased after my cousin for years and didn't eventually get him. You shouldn't be acting all mighty, you know?”I had always known Everest to be a grumpy, no-nonsense type of lady - if you could even call her a “lady” with the way she acted. But I never expected her to be so fiercely protective of Shayna. I mean, when did they become best friends? The
NOVA’S POVA month has already passed since the incident with the rogue leader who unfortunately turned out to be Elder Bighana. I haven't gotten over the incident and Prescott did little to nothing to make me get over the incident.Every action he took, every word he uttered and his sudden possessive act reminded me of that horrible incident that happened to me a month ago. Even though not everyone in the Villa knew about the incident, he wouldn't stop to draw the line between me and every soul who reside in the Villa.‘How dare you let the Queen leave the Villa on her own?’‘Where were you when the Queen entered the kitchen?’‘Have the meal tested for poison before you set the table for the Queen.’ his words to the royal guards echoed through my mind and I shook my head, not thinking I would ever understand the way he thinks.Don't do this, don't go there alone, don't get involved in any activities. I'd already got tired but can I complain when he was doing all that to keep me safe?
Nova’s POVPrescott cleared the table, after he had done feeding me the meals that were brought by Anika, he grabbed the tray and took it to Anika who was waiting behind the door. Walking back to the bed with his eyes on me, I didn't say anything as he swept me off the bed, holding me tightly to his chest as he strolled towards the bathroom. Every things happen for a reason as they said. But I didn't know what to feel about my encounter with Eruba. I didn't know what to think about the things I saw and I heard from there. It was as if I had gone dumb as I held tightly onto Prescott as he held me in his arms.I could hear my heart thumping hard in my chest as he entered the bathroom, and carefully placed me down in the bathtub. The warm water felt like heaven, the thought of being back to the Villa, back to my home brought tears to my eyes.Elder Bighana had said I was going to die the next day, and the thought of him, being the one that would face his demise, right in the hands of hi
Dixon’s POV‘Make sure you're both safe before I get there. Don't do anything foolish, and wait for me.’I could still remember his Majesty's warning as I slowly turned around to see the cowardly bastard, standing before me with his arms crossed.“Where do you think you're taking her, Dixon?” Elder Bighana smirked, his ugly face was filled with a sly smile as he slowly approached us.I let go of the Queen's hand, and gently pushed her to my back as I stood still, waiting for the bastard to get to my front.“Where do I think I'm taking her? I'm taking her back to where she belongs.” I smirked, closing the little distance between me and him.Elder Bighana slightly raised one brow, his smile deepened as he lowered his head, smirking down at me.“And where did she belong? The Villa, or her father's pack?” he howled, his breath on my face making my stomach churn.“Anywhere you could think of. I'm tired of taking orders from you like a coward, I'm done cleaning your shit so fuck yourself an
Nova’s POVI stood up to my feet, I held the tiny bottle in both hands, rubbing my thumb on the lid.“He’s going to kill me tomorrow. Tomorrow will be my last day.” tears streamed down my cheeks as I gripped the lid and opened the bottle. “Tomorrow I'm going to die without seeing Prescott or my family for the last time.” I sobbed, tears streamed down my face and I didn't bother to wipe my face.I moved the bottle to my nose, I sniffed the content but it was odourless. I gulped down nervously before moving the bottle to my mouth.“He said he would get rid of me tomorrow, it can't be possible that he gave me poison to drink, right?” I breathed out, the fear of drinking poison weighed me down, but if he was to poison me he would have done it by himself.I parted my lips and poured the whole content into my mouth, I didn't feel anything at first, so I gulped it down my throat. My throat hurt like hell, it was as if the content was tearing my throat apart. I held my neck, hitching the fle
Nova’s POV Tears streamed down my face as I ran my fingers over my toes, my touch landing on a space where my smallest toe should have been. The emptiness was a harsh reminder of what I'd lost, and I could feel the grief rising inside me.‘Oh, I've got something even better. Let's go with this.’My hand moved to my chest, grasping for the familiar weight of the necklace my aunt had given me. But it was gone, the shithead Eruba took it.“That bastard took it from me,” I mumbled, my heart pounding in my chest. I held my breath as I heard footsteps approaching, panic rising in my throat. I slid into the shadows, desperate to avoid the man who had caused so much pain. He was a monster, and I couldn't face him again. The door opened, and I gripped my chest as I heard the footsteps moving towards me.“There you are, my sweet queen.” The voice was sickeningly familiar, but I couldn't place it. My mind raced, trying to remember where I'd heard it before. But I couldn't think straight, the pa
Prescott's POV“Everything is ready, your Majesty!” Czar uttered a sly smile laced on his face as he stepped away from the door, giving me access to enter the dungeon to interrogate Dixon.I didn't say anything, I sighed, and my gaze moved to the guy who was standing beside Czar, his face was down in sorrow. Checking the look on his face, he was regretting selling Dixon off to me, but there was something about him that seemed like he was doing it for me to show mercy on Dixon instead.“Open the door,” I grumbled, my gaze shifted to the door, watching Czar drag the door open with a smile on his face.As I stepped into the dungeon, my eyes fell on Dixon. He was shackled to an iron chair, his body bare except for a pair of shorts. Blood streaked his torso, and I could see claw marks on his chest. He was broken, his eyes glazed over in defeat. I felt a surge of anger, but I forced myself to remain calm. I needed answers, and I would not let my rage get the better of me.I turned my gaze t
Prescott's POV‘The captive, I think he has something to say to you, your Majesty.’I held my breath as I walked into the office building, my fist clenching and unclenching as I tried to control my outrage. Czar followed close behind, his presence like a shadow hanging over me. Alpha Randale’s words rang in my ears like a bell, the memory of them sharp and insistent.‘The captive said he didn't know the culprit's identity, but he was sure they were a royal warrior. He said they were dressed in an armour that has the nation's signature on it when they threatened him not to talk during the interrogation.’With each step I took, I felt my anxiety growing, until it felt like a lead weight in my stomach. I grumbled, my head was spinning as I walked down the hallway.‘Your Majesty, there's more. The captive said that the culprit was a rogue like himself. And he said he could sense Eruba's handmade tonic in their blood. One of the royal warriors is a rogue, your Majesty!’It was like my bra
