Prescott’s pov
I stepped out of the room, after instructing Randale’s Princess to head to my room, I didn't know why I said that, but I wasn't thinking straight then.“Hey, summon the Elders to the courtroom,” I instructed Wharton, the Royal Beta through the mind link and I closed the link immediately I said that.I was going to do what they want and not the way they want it, if the elders disagree with me this time, then I would have no choice but to give them early retirement and rule the nation on my own.For the past few years, I have had enough of them, lecturing me on how to rule the nation because I was not a family man.“Give me a goddamn fucking break!” Wharton's hoarse voice howled through my mind and I looked around but couldn't find him anywhere.“Thought I closed the link?” I groaned, walking outside of the office building to where the courtroom was located in the inner part of the Royal walls.“Do I need your goddamn approval before I mind link with you?” I couldn't see him, but I knew Wharton literally rolled his eyes after saying that.“What about the elders?” I ignored his silly argument and proceeded with my question.“They were already at the courtroom, guess they need to see you as much as you want to see them.” He chuckled and I shook my head.“Where the hell are you?” I asked, entering the Royal building and taking the hallway that leads to the courtroom.“Working on the elders' request,” he mumbled and I shook my head. This was one of the reasons why I need to take full charge of everything. I can't let the elders keep doing as they please.“What was the request all about?” I paused and relaxed my back against the wall.“Um, a bunch of rogues was spotted at the nearby pack’s wall. I'm taking a few men to catch those brats. And my guts tell me it has something to do with Eruba.” Wharton groaned out the last word making me frozen on the spot.“Did you just say, Eruba?” I asked, my fist tightened and my blood boiled in anger.“I’m not sure, but this is likely his doing. It's Eruba’s style. Gotta go!” Wharton cut the mind link and I took in a deep breath before proceeding to the courtroom.“The Lycan King is here!” the door opened and I walked in to find the elders on their feet, they bowed their heads slightly and I proceeded to my seat with my face blank of any emotions.“Sit!” I ordered the four elders who claimed to be the backbone of the clan, they sat down quietly, I carefully read the expressions on their faces but it was so hard to tell what they were thinking.“Do you by any chance have anything to say to me?” I picked up a scroll and I absent minded read what was written in it.Elder Bighana, the oldest man in the whole nation stood up to his feet, he cleared his throat and bowed his head in respect.“As you know, my little King…”“There’s nothing little about my title! You have to address me in the right manner.” I tossed the scroll to one side and folded my arms.Even though Elder Bighana was older than my late father, I still found it haughty to have him address me as the little Prescott they all watched growing up in their watch.“Sorry, Lycan king!” Elder Bighana smiled and bowed again.“Speak!” I ordered him, the remaining three elders moved uncomfortably on their seats and I love the look on their faces, terror!“As you know, elders in a clan have to guide and rectify the king to lead the nation in the right way.” Elder Bighana said the rest nodded their heads and I sighed, I already knew what he was going to say next, I have heard that a lot and I was tired of them lecturing me on what and what not to do.“You should be working in the main office but because you are yet to have a family, we can not have a man with no responsibility to take full control of the nation,” he added and I drummed my fingers on the table.“Guess I've been doing a bad job all these years, for you to say that.” I scoffed and picked up another scroll.“I dare not say that to you, Lycan King!” elder Bighana cleared his throat, bowed and took his seat.“Good!” I smirked at the content of the scroll but decided not to make a fuss about it.“Did you hear that I have found a bride?” I rested in the royal seat, watching the elders mumble among themselves.“We never heard such a news. When did you get a bride and when is the coronation?” they replied, I scoffed and nodded my head in agreement. How would they know? Nobody in the Royal Walls dares mention anything going on in the Royal Walls to anyone.“Tomorrow! I shall crown my bride tomorrow and I'm going to give you a Queen!” My voice was cool, calm and collected.I watched the elders' faces lit up in a delightful smile. Elder Mingan, the youngest among the elders has the most ecstatic smile and I smirked at what I was about to say next.“She’s a werewolf and I would love you to assign someone to teach her the basis rules of the Lycan.” their faces fell, I was expecting the dreadful look they were giving me and it gladden me.“You shall not do that, my king! How can you bring in a werewolf to rule over us? How?” elder Canyon flared up, but a cold glare from him shut him up.“You asked me to give the nation a Queen. You never tell me which species it should be.” I stood up from the seat and they all sprang up their seats.“She’s going to be your Queen, and she's now your responsibility to teach her the basic rules.” I walked past them and they hastily bowed to me in respect.I was almost at the door when I remembered the last and the most important thing I had to say to them, I spun on my heels and face them.“After the coronation, I’d love to take full charge of the nation. No more giving out orders without confiding in me.” I turned around, leaving them in the courtroom with their hard gaze boring a hole into the back of my head.Nova’s POV “Has she been given a name?” I asked, gazing down at my niece's tiny hand, her tiny fingers wrapped around my pinky. She was the most precious thing I had ever seen, and I couldn't help but feel a surge of love for her. Tamsyn shook her head, her eyes never leaving her daughter's face. “No, we haven't given her a name yet,” she said, her voice soft and full of wonder. “I was so sure it would be a boy, and I'd been planning to name him after his father. But now...I'm at a loss. I don't know what to name her.” She paused, her gaze shifting to meet mine. “I want her name to be perfect, to capture everything she is.” “What about Dahlia?” Prescott spoke up for the first time since we got to the pack and I had to turn around to stare at my husband from where he was standing at the far end of the room. “Dahlia?” I asked, not believing Prescott would want to take up the task of naming my niece. “Why Dahlia?” Tamsyn asked from where she was lying down on the hospital bed.
Ulrica’s POV“Don't tell me you're still sulking over the fact that your crush chose some cock over you?” I asked, my lips parting in disbelief as I watched Shayna continue to give everyone the cold shoulder. I couldn't help but burst out laughing - the whole situation was just too ridiculous. How could she be so upset over something so trivial? I mean, sure, getting rejected by your crush is never easy, but it's not like it's the end of the world. There are plenty of other fish in the sea! Everest groaned from where she sat, patting Shayna on the back. “Oh, please. That's rich coming from you.” she scoffed.“Don’t act all innocent. You chased after my cousin for years and didn't eventually get him. You shouldn't be acting all mighty, you know?”I had always known Everest to be a grumpy, no-nonsense type of lady - if you could even call her a “lady” with the way she acted. But I never expected her to be so fiercely protective of Shayna. I mean, when did they become best friends? The
NOVA’S POVA month has already passed since the incident with the rogue leader who unfortunately turned out to be Elder Bighana. I haven't gotten over the incident and Prescott did little to nothing to make me get over the incident.Every action he took, every word he uttered and his sudden possessive act reminded me of that horrible incident that happened to me a month ago. Even though not everyone in the Villa knew about the incident, he wouldn't stop to draw the line between me and every soul who reside in the Villa.‘How dare you let the Queen leave the Villa on her own?’‘Where were you when the Queen entered the kitchen?’‘Have the meal tested for poison before you set the table for the Queen.’ his words to the royal guards echoed through my mind and I shook my head, not thinking I would ever understand the way he thinks.Don't do this, don't go there alone, don't get involved in any activities. I'd already got tired but can I complain when he was doing all that to keep me safe?
Nova’s POVPrescott cleared the table, after he had done feeding me the meals that were brought by Anika, he grabbed the tray and took it to Anika who was waiting behind the door. Walking back to the bed with his eyes on me, I didn't say anything as he swept me off the bed, holding me tightly to his chest as he strolled towards the bathroom. Every things happen for a reason as they said. But I didn't know what to feel about my encounter with Eruba. I didn't know what to think about the things I saw and I heard from there. It was as if I had gone dumb as I held tightly onto Prescott as he held me in his arms.I could hear my heart thumping hard in my chest as he entered the bathroom, and carefully placed me down in the bathtub. The warm water felt like heaven, the thought of being back to the Villa, back to my home brought tears to my eyes.Elder Bighana had said I was going to die the next day, and the thought of him, being the one that would face his demise, right in the hands of hi
Dixon’s POV‘Make sure you're both safe before I get there. Don't do anything foolish, and wait for me.’I could still remember his Majesty's warning as I slowly turned around to see the cowardly bastard, standing before me with his arms crossed.“Where do you think you're taking her, Dixon?” Elder Bighana smirked, his ugly face was filled with a sly smile as he slowly approached us.I let go of the Queen's hand, and gently pushed her to my back as I stood still, waiting for the bastard to get to my front.“Where do I think I'm taking her? I'm taking her back to where she belongs.” I smirked, closing the little distance between me and him.Elder Bighana slightly raised one brow, his smile deepened as he lowered his head, smirking down at me.“And where did she belong? The Villa, or her father's pack?” he howled, his breath on my face making my stomach churn.“Anywhere you could think of. I'm tired of taking orders from you like a coward, I'm done cleaning your shit so fuck yourself an
Nova’s POVI stood up to my feet, I held the tiny bottle in both hands, rubbing my thumb on the lid.“He’s going to kill me tomorrow. Tomorrow will be my last day.” tears streamed down my cheeks as I gripped the lid and opened the bottle. “Tomorrow I'm going to die without seeing Prescott or my family for the last time.” I sobbed, tears streamed down my face and I didn't bother to wipe my face.I moved the bottle to my nose, I sniffed the content but it was odourless. I gulped down nervously before moving the bottle to my mouth.“He said he would get rid of me tomorrow, it can't be possible that he gave me poison to drink, right?” I breathed out, the fear of drinking poison weighed me down, but if he was to poison me he would have done it by himself.I parted my lips and poured the whole content into my mouth, I didn't feel anything at first, so I gulped it down my throat. My throat hurt like hell, it was as if the content was tearing my throat apart. I held my neck, hitching the fle
