Donovan’s eyes met mine, and he said,” I hope you like it, princess. You mentioned that I did lovely woodwork, and I, um, guess I got carried away.”

Grinning at him I went to stand before the statue of myself and glanced at my grandfather.

“Give us a moment alone please,” I murmured to him.

Daniel gave me a nervous laugh and told Donovan that he had to go practice with his dancing.

“I'm a bit heavy-footed and thought I should practice since it's been ages since I turned around a ballroom floor with a lovely lass,” he announced and scurried back toward the house.

“I can't dance either,” I said in a panic and looked at Donovan.

“Would you teach me,” I asked him.

Crossing his arms his brow furrowed.

“Do you plan on dancing,” he quizzed me, and I huffed.

“It's MY introduction ball so I imagine that I will be asked to dance,” I retorted.
