Daniel's POV

I tried to open my eyes, but I squeezed them shut as soon as a ray of light passed through them. I groaned and adjusted on the hard surface I was laying on before I opened my eyes.

The first thing I saw was a tree; I was lying under a tree when my eyes flew around in alert, and I discovered I was resting on the floor in the midst of nowhere; I then observed a small hand on my face, which I instantly held.
