Daniel's POV

The war between Andrew’s Pack and mine raged on, exhaustion began to set in. The once fierce and aggressive wolf warriors we sent to fight for us now moved in slow, sluggish movements, driven purely by sheer willpower to continue fighting. Blood and sweat dripped down our matted fur as we each desperately tried to gain the upper hand, but the victory seemed to be slipping away with each passing moment.

Day and night, we fought tirelessly, not wanting to succumb to our opponents, the hatred between us had become so ingrained. As time went on, the war never ceased, and it grew more violent with each passing day. We both suffered heavy casualties as we fought tooth and nail for dominance. The once lush and lively forest was now dark and desolate, with broken trees and piles of rubble littering the ground.

Andrew once filled with a lust for power and control and wanted me desperately dead, now looked weary and fatigued. Deep lines etched onto our faces, showing the countle

Athena’s POV I had never imagined that I would find myself in this situation, but I found myself standing in a cold, sterile cell with iron bars for walls. At first, I felt numb. I couldn't believe everything going on around me, I had lost my freedom and my daughter, and now I don’t even know where my son is. It seemed unreal, like a bad dream I couldn't wake up from. But as the second turned into hours and the hours turned into days, reality set in, and I found myself feeling increasingly depressed and hopeless. I felt so lonely, and I had several dreams of my children in my hands and each day I wake up feeling so depressed. But I refuse to sink into a dark hole of despair, I wasn’t going to die without killing Andrea, I will definitely avenge the death of my child. With that hope buried deep inside of me, I suddenly had the energy to stand up, and I looked around the dungeon hoping I could find something to help me escape. I won’t be able to get my revenge if I am stuck here,

Athena’s POV “I don’t want to listen to your story!” I screamed, and he chuckled, he held the irons tightly and snarled at me, I had to move back a bit as his claws slowly elongated. "Isn't it intriguing to discover the reason behind your presence here?" he asked with a hint of amusement in his voice, his lips twitching with a faint smile as he moved them slightly to the side. "Please, just release me! Being trapped here is unbearable," I pleaded before slumping to the ground in exhaustion. The way they were treating me was taking a toll on me and I just wanted to leave. The cell had an unpleasant odor that only added to my misery. As I slumped in my cell, without warning, he grabs onto my clothes, he pulled me forward, causing my head to hit the cold iron bars. The blow left me feeling lightheaded, my eyes struggling to focus as I looked back at Lucas. I had not been eating well since I'd been imprisoned, and with every passing moment, I could feel my strength waning. He let go

Athena’s POV As I collapsed onto the ground, my legs were too feeble to hold me up any longer. Andrea was prolonging my punishment, but I couldn't help wondering if she would be capable of withstanding what I had in store for her. Exhaustion had set in, and I could feel my energy slipping away with each passing moment. I let out a deep sigh of contemplation as I tried to conjure up a plan. Upon hearing rapid footsteps, I immediately quieted down. I was confident that the guards wouldn't come to inspect me now since they had only taken their leave a few minutes prior. Their constant checking ensured that I didn't make a run for it, but my current depleted state left me questioning the sense in attempting an escape. The steps halted in front of the cell and I raised my head up immediately, I saw Grace standing, and I was shocked, I quickly crawl to hold the iron bar while she knelt before me with her eyes filled with worries “What are you doing here?!” I asked, and my eyes darted ar

Andrea's POV I sip the glass of wine in my hand with a wide smile on my face, finally! All plans are falling into place, and I am able to mobilize the rogues Lucas has given a home, they will fight beside me and take down alpha Daniel. I love the fact he is so occupied fighting his step-brother over his mate and when I am sure he has lost enough men, and he is weak to continue, I will appear and end him myself, claiming what rightfully belongs to us. I was brought back from my reverie when I suddenly heard the clearing of a throat, I turned my attention to the person, and it was one of the guards in the pack “What brought you here?” I was annoyed he stopped me from daydreaming everything I planned was going to happen, and he bowed his head immediately. “The merchant you seek is here,” he said, and my smile widened, forgetting he actually annoyed me for jolting me back to reality. I dropped the glass of wine I was holding immediately and started moving, he tagged behind my bac

Athena’s POV My hands on the iron bar slipped down, and I slumped on the floor, my hearty beat racing with the thought of Grace and Evan I have hoped they had escaped without Andrea or Lucas catching up with them, I couldn’t wait to escape this place and reunite with my son again. Tears clouded my eyes at the thought of the life I am living, I feel sad to have been separated from my son. I suddenly heard footsteps approaching, and I stood up from the ground immediately, I saw Andrea approaching me with a smirk on her face, which was very annoying. “Well, it seems you can still stand on your feet, those guards haven’t been doing a proper job,” she said, her eyes raking all over my body, my body shudders in disgust at the way she looks at me “What do you want?” I said angrily, standing next to her is annoying and all I want to do was sink my claws into her skin and shred them into pieces the way my lovely daughter Emily was shredded into pieces. “Your son. Lucas’s POV I suddenly opened my eyes and everything felt weird, I looked at my hands while I stood up from the bed and held my head tightly, I groaned as I felt a sharp headache traveling through my head I suddenly thought about Athena and I remembered everything that had happened all this while, I remembered how I shredded Emily into pieces and my heart started beating fast, I couldn’t believe everything I had done. I screamed in pain and I wondered why I did all those things, what had happened to me, and how I came to agree with Andrea in her brutal ways when I have actively disagreed with it. Guilt ate me up, and I am not certain how I am going to face Athena again, I pulled my hair in frustration and I can believe I could do such a thing to a woman I am in love with, I know Athena will never forgive me, no matter what I say. I pondered on this and stepped out of my room, I saw the guard standing by the door side and went over to meet him “Tell me Athena is at the clinic I

Athena’s POV “What have you done to him?!” I screamed as Lucas slumped on the floor before me losing consciousness, I couldn’t believe what Andrea was capable of doing, even to her brother. “Are you still worried about the person who killed your daughter? Oh, I thought you knew better for someone who can’t wait to shred me into pieces” she said in a mockery tone and I scoffed angrily at her. “It’s none of your business what I think or not, how could you do that to him, he is your brother!” I screamed again. “Lucas is not dead, he is just unconscious, and he will wake up soon, back on track,” she said with a smirk on her face “What did you do to him? I know Lucas will never do such a thing to me, he will never hurt me or my kids in his right mind, so what did you do to him?” I screamed the last part. “I drugged him, I fed him some elixir to bring him back to his senses, to remind him what we had been doing and working towards before you came into his life!” She said and scof

Athena's POV I rested my back on the bark of the tree, I sighed as I waited for my legs to heal. I have been sleeping for some hours now, and I felt energized. After some minutes, I stood up from the ground and my legs weren't as bad as they were anymore, I walked deeper into the forest and saw a river, I quickly moved closer and bent on the floor driving some water to satiate my thirst. After drinking enough, I stood up and walked towards a tree, I saw an apple hanging down the tree and cut one, I ate it and I sighed as the taste hits my taste bud. I can't remember the last time I had such a great taste, I haven't been feeding properly, got lean, and looked like a shadow of myself. I started walking away from the tree when I heard several footsteps, I knew Andrea had had her people out to look for me, I quickly started running even with the pain I felt, I needed to get to Andrea before her people caught up with me. I was able to lose them and stepped back into the pack, I hid f

Athena’s POV It’s been a month since the death of Andrea and Lucas, and it still felt unreal, this past month has been the happiest I have been in my life. I have never felt so at peace, sleeping with no course to worry about. I looked at my wedding dress, and it was breathtaking, I ran my hand through it and it was a masterpiece, with delicate lace and silk, adorned with shimmering beads and sequins. I smiled as I took it from the hanger and wore it. Slowly slipping into the wedding dress, I felt an indescribable sensation. Every delicate stitch seemed to weave love and happiness into the fabric. As I stood before the mirror, I gasped in awe at the vision it reflected. My eyes shimmered with tears of overwhelming joy as I finally realized my dream of being a bride. I stepped out of the room when I was pleased with the way I looked and met beta Carl outside, he had promised to walk me down the aisle and I have never felt so glad. Beta Carl stretched his hand and I slowly placed m

She tried to carry him, but she had no power as she cried profusely. “Lucas! Lucas wake up!” she screamed and the kind part of me felt bad while watching her cry, but I suddenly remembered how she laughed devilishly as they killed Emily, every ounce of pity I felt for her left immediately and I scowled. “Are you ready to give up now or not?” Alpha Daniel asked a land, and Andrea shot him an angry look.“I would rather avenge my brother! Avenge my mother who died pitifully in the wilderness, avenge my father who was killed and reaped his title!” Andrea screamed and she stood up, trying to attack Alpha Daniel. I move closer to her and yank her hair, pulling her down, “don’t you think it’s time for you to give up? It’s time you stop everything you are doing and reflect on yourself?” I said, and she elongated her claws, trying to tear my face like I

Athena’s POV I was about to lunge at Andrea after snarling when I heard a screeching yell that caused me to tilt my head immediately. I discovered it was Donald who produced that sound, and I attempted to control my heavy breathing as I stared at him. Elder Ryker was able to escape Alpha Daniel's strike when I noticed him, and his eyes widened in amazement as he saw his son, his body went pale quickly, and I smirked, it seemed what Donald said was true. He must have assumed his son was dead. "You…you are alive?"Elder Ryker pushed himself to say, and his son frowned at him. “You must have thought I got burnt in that car, I escaped and here I am, it’s nice to see you again Father!” Donald said as I stepped closer to them after he mentioned the crest. “What’s going on here?!” a man who I didn’t recognize asked but looking at his attire he seemed to be the chief commander of their pack. “My father, Elder Ryker is responsible for killing the old alpha, Luna Evelyn’s father, for h

Daniel's POV The night was quiet, and I sighed as I looked up at the sky; I had been outside for a while now, trying to clear my mind of the many things that were racing through it. This week, Beta Carl has been quite active and helpful in attempting to get everything in order. I wandered farther into the garden, admiring the gorgeous flowers and attempting to forget about everything going on around me. I sighed and decided it was time to return inside and meet Athena; I've grown so attached to her that I can only sleep better in her arms. I was headed towards the pack building when I heard a bomb detonate. The ground trembled, and I staggered; I tilted my head to see what was going on; I strained my ear and heard the cry of war approaching. My eyes opened in surprise; I hadn't anticipated being attacked. "There is a war approaching, everyone should get ready for a battle," I yelled to the pack members over the mind link as I dashed toward the pack house. I ran up the stai

Andrea’s POV When I saw the crest in Athena's hand, the blood on my face drained and I turned pale. The same crest that Alpha Gideon and I have worked so hard to obtain is now sitting on Athena's hand. I always assumed the crest was something tangible, not realizing that was not the case. When alpha Daniel and Athena exited the courtroom, I tried to rise but my body felt weak as I reflected on everything I had gone through to reach where I am now. I finally pulled myself up and began walking to my room; I can't let Athena and Alpha Daniel gain control of the army; I've sacrificed so much for this, and I'm not going to let it go easily. I slumped on my bed and I entered my room. * I couldn't sleep all night because I was tossing and turning in my bed, and the only time I tried to sleep, I had a terrifying dream about Athena killing me. At the first roasting crow, I got out of bed and decided to take a bath. I finished bathing and dressed in all black because I was still grie

Daniel’s POV Fear gripped me right away. I couldn't trust anyone, let alone a stranger when Athena spoke to me over the pack's mind link. As a result, I was instantly bothered. "What's the matter with you? You went quiet?" Alpha Andrew inquired, and I sighed. "Athena just spoke to me through the mind link; she said a man approached her and asked to speak to her and me," I replied, and they both narrowed their eyes. "Who is that man?"Alpha Andrew inquired. "She doesn't know him," I said. “I think it’s best if we go over and meet her immediately, we can’t be too sure of anything, you know” Beta Carl stated "He is right, we should go meet her right away," Alpha Andrew stated as we all stood up. We walked out of the house and encountered Athena, who was standing beside her with a man whose face I had never seen before. I was taken aback when he referenced the war and claimed to be Elder Ryker's son. I moved in closer to him. "Do you know the gravity of punishment you will re

Athena’s POV The car stopped in front of the pack building, and we both got out. We went inside, and I noticed Alpha Andrew and Edna, who seemed anxious when they saw us, and they approached us. "How did it go?"Alpha Andrew inquired hurriedly. “Exactly like I had thought, Andrea and an elder were blatantly refusing what I had said, but the rest wanted to comply” Alpha Daniel answered. "That elder must be gaining something from whatever is going on," Alpha Andrew responded. “Of course, it’s obvious but it’s not a problem to me, I am going to put them in their places like I have always done” Alpha Daniel answered. "I believe you, you should rest because you appear tired and Athena too,” Alpha Andrew said, and I nodded at what he said. “Yes, we will do that” Alpha Daniel replied, and we walked away from them. I went back to my room and sighed lying on the bed, I heard a knock on the door before the door was pushed open, Miriam came in with Evan, and my face broke into a smi

Daniel’s POV “The crest?” Elder Ryker asked and I smirked. He must have thought he was smart, but he wasn’t smart enough. Murmurs erupted in the hall as people were busy saying different things, no one had seen the crest for long, and it would be surprising if they saw it. “As I had said, Evelyn talked to us regarding everything that had happened in the pack, she told us Alpha Gideon wasn’t her real mate, he bewitched her to believe he was, just to get the alpha title when he finally succeeded, he killed her father and poisoned her every day after locking her up and lied to the world she was dead, he poisoned her and tortured her just to have his hands on the crest because that was the only way he would have full control over the pack’s army,” I said and the murmurs increased. My gaze was drawn to Andrea and Lucas, who were shivering. They appeared afraid, and I chuckled; I would give anything to see them look that way every day. "How sure are we that you're telling the truth? Sho

Athena’s POV I sighed as I looked out my window. I wasn't mentally prepared for the journey ahead of us; Alpha Daniel had sent a letter to Andrea, alerting her of our presence in the pack. The door swung open, and I turned to see Alpha Daniel enter the room. When he saw me, his face burst into a smile, and I swallowed when I noticed the black shirt he was wearing; Alpha Daniel looks nice in anything, but he always looks hot in this specific shirt. "Are you trying to seduce me?"I inquired, and he chuckled as he moved closer to me, wrapping his hands around my waist. I exhaled, resting on him. “I don’t mind seducing you over and over again if that makes you give me another child” Alpha Daniel replied and I chuckled. “You talk about babies too much, don’t you think?” I raise my brows at him. “I want a baby from you Athena, I want to see every stage of pregnancy in you” he murmured and slowly kissed my ear, I closed my eyes and wrapped my hand around his neck.
