Cindy's POV
"Mooonnn Goddeeeesss, please bring her back to me!!!!" Who the hell was that? She was screaming, and I don’t know why my heart aches for her. And who the hell is the moon goddess? My eyes were so heavy, but I tried to open them up. I want to see the woman who was in deep sorrow.
beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeppppppp ....
What are those beeps I’m hearing?

Just as I've tried, I finally opened my eyes and stayed that way. I didn't move and just studied my surroundings and how I felt on the ceiling. I was in a room, and it was a little dim. It is not too dark but not too bright either. I felt my eyes were heavy, but I fought not to close them again. I want to know where I was and what I am doing here.
I tried to remember what had happened, and my memories started to flash simultaneously.
*** Flashback ***
"Cindy, stop crying already," my friend Lin said as she stroked my back, trying to calm me. I remember my dad, and I can't believe that he is gone now. He never told me that he had a heart problem, and Lin, being his doctor, was the only one who knew about it. She said she couldn't tell me about his condition because Dad made her promise not to inform me about it. She, too, felt sorry for me because she had to hide that from me.
"How can he let me be like this? He knew that we only had each other," I said as I continued crying. We were in my apartment, and we were supposed to go to a mall so I could relax and try to forget my dad's death, even for a moment.
"Don't say that; I am still here. Mike is still here," she replied. Mike is my boyfriend, and we were supposed to get married if Dad had not died. I was not in the mood to celebrate or get married when I was mourning my loving dad. All my life, I saw how devoted he was to me. He didn't even look for another wife to be with and chose to raise me by himself. He is the father every daughter would want.
I was hugging Lin when the door opened, and Mike came in. "Hey," he said and sat beside me, so I hugged him steadily and felt him give my back a light tap as he always does whenever I am in this state. For him, I was a crybaby, as I always cried, even at the slightest thing, like watching a movie drama. I felt Lin getting up from her seat, maybe to give Mike and me time alone together.
"Drink this to calm yourself," Lin said when she returned with a glass of water. I took it and drank everything. I put down the glass on the center table and found her smiling at me. Nothing was wrong with it if it was not the smile a friend should give to someone grieving. I creased my forehead and tried to ask her, but I suddenly felt my mouth numb.
"What?" she asked, her smile looking evil now. It was as though I didn't know who she was at all, even if she had been my friend, or rather, best friend, since our childhood. She was the daughter of one of our maids and was one of my dad's beneficiaries. I treated her like my own sister, and I was always by her side, especially when someone was trying to bully her. So why is she giving me that scary smile? And why can't I talk?
"You can't talk? Do you feel your mouth and tongue going numb? Don't worry, it was only starting. Just a little bit more, and you'll feel like your whole body is paralyzed before you get a heart attack," she said, giving me that evil smile again. "Just like your fatherrrr..." she said in a low and mocking voice. My eyes widened when I realized what she meant. Did she just admit to killing my dad in front of Mike? Did he know about it?
Mike got up and sat with Lin, who was seated on the L-shaped sofa. They were both smiling at me before they faced each other and kissed. My heart was broken, not because my boyfriend and best friend had cheated on me, but because I let my dad die with the culprit lurking right under my nose. My tears fell when I realized how hurt my father was, thinking the person he treated as his own daughter did that to him. He was such a loving person, and those two evil people sitting in front of me knew that. I could not tell them what I wanted to say because, like what that bitch of a best friend of mine said, I started to feel paralyzed.
"Hahahahaha.... the bitch is crying! You are acting like you own the world, right? You didn't see this coming. Well, tell you what, I was so annoyed with you. You have everything while I work hard for what I have!" She was insane and ungrateful. My father gave her everything she needed. Whatever Dad buys for me, he sees to it that she has the same. Ungrateful bitch!
They didn't end up just kissing and continued what they were doing until they were entirely naked. Mike's face was between Lin's legs as she moaned in pleasure, calling out his name. Mike was the same; he was calling the bitch's name as he took her. They were still not done. Lin bent over and supported herself with her elbows on top of the center table as Mike took her from behind. I saw how pleasurable she was feeling while I wanted to kill her myself.
"Ahhhh, Mike, babe! Yes! That's it, ahhh..." Lin's unending moaning right to my face while she was smirking at me.
"You have never felt this, right? You were too righteous and conservative to give this to Mike, so he looked for it to someone else. He was lucky to find this in me. Ahhhh, babe, faster," she screamed.
"Yes, baby. It would be best if you had let me taste her first before we did that to her. Oh, fu**, I wanted to fu** her endlessly ever since she said yes to me." They were so immoral to talk about something like that in front of me.
"We can't risk that. You know that she knew self-defense. What if it backfired on us?" Lin replied. "Ahhh, fu** Mike, faster, I'm cumming," she screamed again. Then I felt my heart clenching, and I wanted to hold my chest but couldn't. My tears continue running down my face, and before I close my eyes,

"Clear!" said the voice I would never mistake for anyone else. It was that bitch! Did they take me to the hospital?
"It is going to be heart failure," she said again. So that is what she did to my dad?
"Cindy, please hang on," she said while crying. And I wanted to spit on her face, and my tears fell again because I was helpless and couldn't fight back.
"We need to operate her," the bitch said in a rush.
"Yes, Doc." Everyone replied, and I knew it was the end of me. This is how she killed my father; no one will suspect her. Everyone knows how close we are. As I prepared myself to die, I promised myself, 'I am going to get back at you two and make you pay tenfold even if I had to crawl back from the grave.
And that's it—nothing more; I'm dead.
--- End of Flashback ***
So, why am I here? Where am I even?
"Clover?" I heard that woman's voice again; her face was right before mine. She was full of tears, and I saw how happy and worried she was as she looked at me dearly. I blinked my eyes many times and found out I was in a hospital. And I didn't know who the woman was crying for me. And why am I even alive?
"Who is Clover?" I asked, but she turned her back to me and shouted,
"Doctor, doctor, please come and look at my daughter. She's awake!!" Wait. What? I'm her daughter. How am I, her daughter? I never saw or remember having a mom ever since. I was always with my dad, and he was alone. Then people started coming in, and I heard them gasp. I looked at them and saw a man who was also about to cry.
"Oh, my princess," he said, hugging me as he cried. The woman who was with me earlier was beside him, and I had a feeling that he was her husband.
"Clover, dear, how are you feeling?" the woman asked again.
"How are you feeling, Clover?" the woman in white, who I assumed to be the doctor, asked too.
"I am not Clover," I replied in a hoarse voice. The woman took a glass of water and handed it to me. I was hesitant because it was after I drank a glass of water that I saw Lin’s evil smile. She looked sad as I just looked into the glass of water she was holding.
"It's OK, Melinda; let us not force her," the doctor said, and she nodded.
"Clover," the doctor started to repeat something, so I shook my head and said,
"I am not Clover."
"If you are not Clover, then who are you?" the woman asked. She looks really sad now, maybe because I was denying that I was her daughter.
"Princess, what do you mean you are not Clover? Of course, you are my only daughter and princess, Clover," the man said.
"Melinda, Noah, she must not be in good condition yet, so we will just let her rest," the doctor told them, and they both looked down.
"Clover, you have to rest, and we will talk tomorrow, OK?" the doctor told me, but I didn't say anything.
"I am going to inform Alpha about this; he told me to do so when she wakes up," she said as she looked back at the couple, who were now nodding their heads. Just what the hell is Alpha, or who the hell is he or she?
I don't think I need to think about these people; now that I am alive, I will make sure to make that bastard Mike and bitch Lin pay ten folds as promised.
Cindy's POV"Clover, follow my pen with your eyes only, OK?" Dr. Maureen said she was the same doctor who came in when I woke up and kept calling me Clover."I already told you I am not Clover," I told her, and she smiled."I think so too," she replied and continued, "The Clover I know was sweet and kind, while you look like you will curse everyone any minute now." Just who the hell is Clover?"Can I look in the mirror? " I asked, which confused her. But even if that was the case, she still handed me her cell phone after she turned on the camera. I took it and put it right in front of my face. My eyes widened after seeing my reflection, and I couldn't believe what I saw. I looked at Dr. Maureen and then back to the cell phone. What the fu** is going on?"What did you do to my face?" I asked, and her forehead creased even more."I don't think we are still on the same page. What do you mean by what I did to your face?""Exactly what does it mean? How come I look like this?""What are you
Alder's POV"Alder, what's going on?" Lance asked when we were left in the living room in the villa where we were staying."What do you mean?" I asked him with a mysterious smile."Come on, you know what I mean. What did you smell on our way here?" He asked again, and I saw that he started to get frustrated. I laughed at him and leaned back."All I can say is that I am happy.""Now, I am even more frustrated. You really didn't want to tell me?" I laughed at what he looked like. He was definitely pissed, and it was very rare for him to feel that way. Among the three of us, he was the coolest and most patient. Seeing him like this is like a breath of fresh air for me.Before he gets mad, "I smelled my mate right there.""What?" he shouted out in shock. I nodded at him, and he was speechless. He knew how much I longed for my mate to come, and even if he didn't tell me, I'm sure he would be very happy for me."Wait, didn't the warrior say that they only smelled Clover? The supposed Luna wh
Alder's POV "She is already my mate. What else can I do? No matter how much I wanted to stay with Clover, I just couldn't because she lost her title to Monique," the stupid alpha said. I talked to him and his new mate with his father and mother, as Lance was always with me.I am going to let them go for now, as today is Luna's ceremony, and I can't wait to tell Clover that she's mine. I was preparing myself in the villa, and Lance was as excited as me.For six days, I tried my hardest to stop myself from coming or looking for her. My Lycan was furious because of that, but I managed to calm him down as I promised to go and bring her with us in time."Let's go and get her highness already, Your Highness," Lance teased, and I liked it. I wonder how Charles would react when we came back with my queen."Let's go and be ready.""I was born, ready. It was in fact my surname." He replied happily, so I laughed with him before we headed for the training ground where the ceremony would be held.
Cindy's POVJust what the hell was that? And what the hell happened to me? Why did I let him touch me? I was still glaring at whoever he was, whom I think was very powerful because even the bas***d alpha couldn't do anything about him. I saw pain in his eyes as I moved away from him, but I didn't care; I shouldn't care. Even if his scent was driving me crazy, it made me want to come back to him and let him touch me once more."Love, don't fight it; I know that you can feel it," he said."I already told you not to call me that. I am not your love, and I don't love you," I replied, which made him look even more hurt. I forgot that I was already naked, so when I saw my reflection in the mirror, I thought it was a bathroom door, and my eyes widened. I looked around again, but my dress was on his side, so I went to the closet instead, and his scent filled my nose."Fu**!" I exclaimed, but I didn't care about it anymore. I should dress up and not let this person see me like this. I took his
Alder's POV Clover staying away from me hurts. She had a point about wolves who were not waiting for their mates when they knew someone was intended for them. I am a Lycan, and the possibility of finding my own mate is close to zero. But I knew for myself that I wanted to have her.I had to leave her, or I wouldn't be able to control myself. My beast wanted to mark and mate with her, and I don't think it was a good idea to do that without her consent. I already mind-linked Lance and told him to bring her parents here so I would be able to talk to them. After a while, they came and had them sit. "As you already know, your daughter is my mate," I said, and they looked at each other before they looked at me and nodded."She didn't like the idea of having mates. She got traumatized by what had happened to her previous mate, but I wanted to assure you that I will not do what her ex-mate did to her." They sighed and smiled."Where is she, Your Highness?" Her dad asked."She's in our bedroom
Cindy's POV I can't believe what I just heard. No wonder he believed in me instantly. But is what he was saying true? How can I be sure about that?'Don't doubt him; he's our mate,' Masha said. She had not been talking a lot. That's why there were times that I thought that I was going crazy.'That ba****d of an alpha was your mate as well, and look at what happened to Clover? ''Clover is naturally kind and nice.''And I am not? ' I asked.'Are you?' She asked and retreated. Now she has left me again. Yes, I am not. So what?"Love," and there he is again. I don't know how he feels towards me, but I don't think I will ever trust a man again. I don't deny the fact that I wanted him too, but that was only physical. For a hundred and eighty-seven, wow, he is so damn sexy and hot. But I'm done with those kinds of men. They just wanted something from women, and it was either s** or money. In his case, it wasn't the latter because he was already king."You have to stop calling me that becaus
Alder's POV My mate could really fight; her human form was in shape, and her movements were swift and precise. Clover's dad must have trained her roughly. I looked at him, and I saw how proud he was of her. Cindy, on the other hand, must have and undergo intensive training as well for her to move that way and match Clover's body. When she asked me who my mate really was between her and Clover, I actually didn't know what to say. It was the first time that I encountered something like that. But what I know is that she's mine and no one else's. I wanted to hesitate to accept her at first because one of the palace elders prophesied that I would be mated to a witch, but I was now making my decision to accept her based on my instincts and feelings. Because that is what my beast has been telling me. I was in pain when she got hit, and there was a lot of time when I wanted to kill Vlad, but I managed to stop myself. It was my mate's decision to challenge him, and I didn't want to make her
Alder's POV The beast in me wanted to claim her, and I might have if I didn't leave her. Lycans had a nature of claiming and making their mates instant, literally at first sight. But with Clover, I can't.She had been rejected and killed by her mate and boyfriend. How is she able to accept me just like that? She had every reason not to trust me, and I gave her that. I went to the living room and sat on the couch while I waited for Lance. He had better settle everything now. I had to take Clover to the palace the following day."Alder," my beta said as he entered the villa. I had been waiting for more than an hour already, and I think my mate had already fallen asleep because of the calmness that I was feeling."Is everything done?" I asked as he walked to the couch and sat opposite mine."Vlad was really pissed. He couldn't accept that he was no longer the alpha and John was such a poor man. He begged for his son," he replied, shaking his head. It was such a waste that John had to hav
Alder’s POV Mirasol died afterward, and because of the feeling of relief, I hugged my mate. I had no idea why she suddenly told me to teleport her to that witch, but my instinct told me to just follow her. I know I sounded pathetic, but even my beast agreed to let her lead us. That is how much we trust our mate and how much we love her. What’s important is that everything is settled. I never thought that the past was still haunting me until Lorena came. Maybe it was also the reason why the moon goddess decided to let Cindy be reborn in Clover’s persona. I saw Lorena and Isabel kneel down out of tiredness when I looked around. Lance and James started to look after the wounded warriors. I didn't think it was safe for the others to be called out of the bunker, so I didn’t until we cleaned everything out. The warriors and fighters were all tired, but they wanted to make sure of the safety of their families and loved ones as well. The palace doctors and nurses arrived and started to br
Alder’s POV I hate Cindy’s idea. How can she protect me? It should be the other way around. Her mom, Isabel, told us about Mirasol’s mansions. I was shocked to learn that they have been operating illegal activities for a long time now. How can I be so stupid not to know that? I wanted to raid them all, but Isabel stopped me. She wanted to use that to our advantage. “We can do that after we defeat her,” she said, “How?” Lance asked, “She will be complacent once she notices that we are not raiding all her mansions and will eventually think that we had no idea about it as well,” she answered. “Mirasol will definitely get ahead of herself and will take that as her advantage and think that we have no idea about who we are dealing with or who our enemy is,” Cindy added, “You mean, not attacking any of their mansions will be a bait for them?” Charles asked, and the mother and daughter nodded. “I’m sure that her target will be you, Your Highness. He will try to get into your mind, so
Third Person’s POV “We have to start moving now before they can prepare. There’s no use in trying to get in there through the portal since they managed to make a strong barrier.” Mirasol said, looking at Dan, the Lycan rogue. “We're going in by force?” he asked, and she nodded. “Did you think about it a few times? It’s the palace, and all the strongest and fierce warriors and fighters are there,” he added. “Do you think I am such an idiot not to know about that? Of course, I thought about it, and I am not going to ask you to get ready if I knew that we were going to lose in this war,” she replied angrily. “They had no idea about us yet and were taking advantage of that,” she added. “What if you’re wrong? What if they already knew about us?” Dan asked, “If they already knew about us, they should have raided all our mansions, you idiot! Do you think Alder will let it pass once he knows that the mansion around the palace was actually a hideout of illegal activities? Especially when h
Cindy’s POV Aunt Lorena is really amazing. It has been almost a month since Mom left for the enemy’s turf, but she maintains the barrier. There were no enemy sightings inside the palace territory, which only meant that she was doing a good job. We can’t afford to let them get in using their portal. It will be a disaster since they will just spawn anytime and anywhere they want. We didn’t want that because of every palace member who couldn’t fight, rely on us, and believe in us. It seems to me that the issue with Mom’s ancestors will never end unless Alder’s family is no longer the one on the throne. I don’t know why they were so clingy when they all knew that Mirasol was not Alder’s grandfather’s fated mate. And it was hard to resist the bond. Even when I still had no idea about it, until Alder started calling me his mate and that we were fated mates, I couldn’t totally get rid of him. Always want to see him and always want him to touch me. That’s why I understand the previous king’s
Cindy's POV Mom left after she taught Aunt Lorena how to maintain the barrier. I had no idea about it, and even if my aunt was a strong witch, she never felt it at all. I guess my mother is really good, just like what my aunt said. My worry about everything has started to fade even if Mom confirms how strong our enemies are. I don’t care about that anymore. With her, my aunt, Alder, and our friends and pack members with me, I fear nothing. I believe that we will be able to defeat them since we uphold the core values and the main reason for our existence. The Moon goddess will never let her children suffer at the hands of her own child who went astray. “Lorena, are you sure about this?” Alder asked. We went to see her because mom had told her to be ready. She was worried that after she went after her aunt, they would go back and try to get into the palace territory through their portal. “Yes, I had to eat a lot. What Isabel wanted me to do would drain my energy. Thankfully, I had a
Third Person’s POV “Can you tell her to come and talk to us?” Alder asked, and Cindy nodded before she went quiet again. The others let her talk to her mother, hoping they would be able to get more information about their enemy. Lorena still had reservations but hoped that everything was real. She didn’t want to disappoint her niece when everything turned out to be a fluke. She was sure that the pain it would give her would be unbearable. She knew how much her niece missed her mother, especially when she remembered nothing about her except for the fact that her dad told her not to get mad at Isabel. They waited until Cindy looked at them. “She can’t right now. She said that, in the meantime, she had to leave to check on something. Once she is sure about that, she will be back and meet us in person.” “Why does she need to leave? What is it that she wanted to check out?” Lorena asked, “Mom said it was important, and she wanted you to look out here while she’s away. What’s there to l
Alder’s POV I had a feeling that Cindy was hiding something from me, but I could see that she was debating with herself whether she would tell me it or not. That’s why I always wanted to be with her since I knew that if I did that, she might be able to open up and tell me whatever it was that was bothering me. The next morning, after she had marked me when we were busy with the celebration, I felt that something was bothering her. It was an instant because I still felt how happy she was, and then suddenly, she became uneasy. Trying to hide my worry was extremely difficult. After we marked each other, we could easily tell how we were with each other without asking. Since I already knew that I could try to hide my emotions, unlike her. She’s new to our kind and how we really are. During my regular meetings with my beta and gamma, as well as the head of the patrol guards, I could feel her being worried and then angry. So, I had to excuse myself after she answered me through our link abo
Cindy’s POVRoaming around the palace was one thing I liked to do the most. Although there was a threat to me, especially to my mate, I don’t care about that now. He made sure that he was fine, and I believed him. Why? I trust my mother. She’s going to come to me once she finds out something that may lead to hurting me. I actually didn’t understand everything that was happening. I mean, I am Cindy Mills, a billionaire and the daughter of the wealthiest man in the country who happens to have witch's blood. Only he is not because he is a man. On the other hand, my mother was also a witch. A powerful one, I guess, since her ancestor managed to invade the previous queen’s mind and kill her. What I can’t get is the fact that I am in Clover’s body, who was a pure wolf. Only my soul was in her body, so how come I have a witchy aura? Does that aura connect to my soul? Aunt Lorena told me that being a witch runs only with the women in our family. Since I have my mother’s blood, will I be able t
Third Person’s POVMarked and mated completely. Alder felt himself stronger than he already was, and Cindy was content. She just realized that placing her mark on her mate gives them great power. Now that their bond is complete, they are confident that they will be able to attain their maximum power and potential. Everyone in the palace was rejoicing as they also felt their king and queen’s bond getting stronger. One thing about a Lycan being with its fated mate is that it gave the entire kingdom an unexplainable bind as well. Every pack will become connected to its king and queen.Because of the completion of their bond, the morning in the palace becomes special. The omegas prepared their breakfast intended for everyone. It started with Alder’s grandfather, who found his fated mate, compared it to those who didn't, and noticed that their power increased. That’s why his grandfather made his father promise to wait for his fated mate, which he did, and he grew up with that in mind. That’
