Alder's POV

The beast in me wanted to claim her, and I might have if I didn't leave her. Lycans had a nature of claiming and making their mates instant, literally at first sight. But with Clover, I can't.

She had been rejected and killed by her mate and boyfriend. How is she able to accept me just like that? She had every reason not to trust me, and I gave her that. I went to the living room and sat on the couch while I waited for Lance. He had better settle everything now. I had to take Clover to the palace the following day.

"Alder," my beta said as he entered the villa. I had been waiting for more than an hour already, and I think my mate had already fallen asleep because of the calmness that I was feeling.

"Is everything done?" I asked as he walked to the couch and sat opposite mine.

"Vlad was really pissed. He couldn't accept that he was no longer the alpha and John was such a poor man. He begged for his son," he replied, shaking his head. It was such a waste that John had to hav

Cindy's POV The daughter of the Alpha Rio of the Hill Crest Pack was something. Her eyes didn't leave Alder's, and it pissed me off. He was mine, and she had no right to look at him that way. 'It's not as though you are accepting him.' Masha said, 'I don't care whether I accept him or not. One thing is sure, and that he's mine.' I replied. 'You're selfish, you know? He wanted you, but you didn't want to accept him, and you didn't want others to have him, either. What do you want to do with him? And he's a Lycan king.' 'I am a billionaire and don't need a king for a husband.' 'Mate. That's what we call him. And it was deeper than a human's husband.' Masha said, 'Whatever!' I told her, and she kept herself hidden again at the back of my mind. She's not angry at me but because I didn't want to submit to our mate. Clover had suffered too much from her mate and me, with my boyfriend, Mike. There's no way I will let another man destroy me. Not until I took my revenge on those leeches

Cindy's POV "Where do you think you're going, Clover?" Alder asked angrily. I was worried, yes. But I had to do what I needed to do. I can only stay here after it's too late. "I already told you, Alder," I replied, trying to hide the nervousness I was feeling right now. He walked towards me without leaving my eyes. His being there that instant made me wonder how he ever did that. "I thought I had already made myself clear, and I guess you are really hard-headed and left me with no choice." His voice was deep and hoarse, as though he wasn't the one who was talking to me, which made me worried. "What, are you going to give me your king's command?" I asked, even though I started to feel scared, too. I think he still looks angry, and Masha told me his deep black orbs were boring holes in my head because of his beast that was taking over his human form. "No, I am going to give you the worst," he replied, pulling me. I was shocked and didn't know what to do when he suddenly had me

WARNING!! MATURE CONTENT!! Alder's POV I was so worried after Lance told me that Clover was missing. I rushed to him, and it was good that I could still smell her scent, so it became easier for me to teleport to her. Hurt and pain were all over me when she said that she hated me. I had to harden my heart and hurt her so I would be able to bring her back with me. "Your Highness!" I remember Lance exclaimed when I told her about what had happened. We went straight to the airplane as she and the Hill Crest Pack disrupted my mood. Charles was very excited when he found out that I already found her, but after Lance told him about what had happened, he looked at me and asked, "You waited for her just to do that?" "I didn't want to, but she forced me," I answered. After I put her in my room, I left her there and went to my office where Charles was. "She's hurt and was rejected by her first mate. It was natural that she wouldn't be able to accept you just like that," he said. Afte

Alder's POV We were still lying on my bed, and I was waiting for her to talk. She's quiet, and I feel worried that she's still mad at me. I know that I acted like a di**head when I marked her, but it was all I could do to make her stay. Now, even if I wanted to, I had to ask her permission if I wanted to complete the bond and mate with her. She's acting according to the bond. That's why she couldn't help but want me as well, especially when I have already marked her. I felt guilty after I did that, but she shouldn't blame me because I had already talked to her and made an agreement. I was willing to help her and started planning our flight to L.A., but she was stubborn and very impatient. "My love," I couldn't take the silence, so I called, "I still hate you, so don't talk to me," she said, "I may want you, but that's only physical, and no other feelings but lust," she added, and that hurt like hell. I got up and looked at her. "You made me do it." "I don't care; that doesn't ch

Author's Note: As 3rd Person's POV, I will address the FL as Cindy but call her Clover when the other characters speak to her. Third Person "You could have told me that you're back," the woman said as soon as she arrived. 'Sh** Clover will definitely say that she was right.' Alder thought. "What are you doing here, and how many times do I need to tell you that you are not allowed to enter my office without asking my permission?" He asked angrily. "Come on, I missed you, and this is how you talked to me the moment we saw each other? You would have been here two days ago, and I should have been mad at you for coming back late." The woman replied. She was smiling sweetly as though they had a relationship. "Your Highness, we will leave now and work on what you asked," Charles said, grinning. He knew Alder would be having difficulty talking to the woman. "Stay here and don't leave. We are not done talking yet," Alder replied. Charles creased his forehead. Usually, Alder would let

Cindy's POV "Are you ready?" Alder asked. Just as he promised, we were on our way to L.A. I couldn't wait to go back and see those leeches. Lincoln has set up everything, and I am sure they will be shocked when I appear before them. The videos of them killing me will be proof of their crime. I will make sure to put them behind bars if not kill them. I have no concrete evidence about how they killed my father, and I just hope that what they said in my apartment will be a big help. "I was born ready," I replied, and he looked at me. I could feel that he was worried, and I don't know why. There was nothing for him to worry about me, though. We are in his private plane, and he is really the King. I was seated beside him because he didn't want me to sit away from him. It must be because of the mate bond. This time, Charles was with us, and Lance would be handling the palace while they were away. "You are not going to act rashly, OK?" He reminded me, and I didn't want to reply because he

Cindy's POV "What's wrong with you?" The b***h asked as the ba****d was helping her get up. He looked at me, and I said, "I'm asking you what was wrong with you?" Lin asked after she got back to her feet. "There's nothing wrong with me, and I don't know about you," I replied, "Come on, love, I'm starving," Alder said, and I wanted to roll my eyes at him. I had already told him not to call me that, but he was not listening. But I decided just to let him be. It was only a waste of time arguing with him when I already knew he would not listen to me. I started walking but stopped by those two leeches again. "Is that it? You're not going to apologize?" Lin asked angrily, and I wanted to laugh at her. She never let me see that side of her. Gosh, is she always like this? How come I never had any idea about her being like this? "Why would I? Who are you?" I asked arrogantly. "You can take your seat, and I will settle things here." Charles said, "People are looking, and it will be embarra

Alder's POV It was them, Cindy's ex-boyfriend and best friend. I felt her anger and knew she wanted to kill them both. I tried not to get mad at her because I knew she was not in the mood after seeing the reason for our stay here in L.A. My mate is aggressive, and she looks beautiful when she's mad. I didn't know what I needed to do just for her to accept me, even though I knew she would make everything complicated. The waitress's presence at our table made Cindy happy. When I looked at Charles, I tried not to laugh at him. He looks stupid, staring at his mate. Now, we both have problems with our mate. He was human and knew nothing about our kind and mine. Well, she's human and a werewolf, but she was betrayed. "So, you're Mia?" I stated the obvious. It was clearly on her name tag. I looked at Cindy, who creased her forehead. She might think I was feeling close to Charles's mate, so I just ignored her. "He is my friend, and I think he likes you," I told her, and she looked at my ga

Alder’s POV Mirasol died afterward, and because of the feeling of relief, I hugged my mate. I had no idea why she suddenly told me to teleport her to that witch, but my instinct told me to just follow her. I know I sounded pathetic, but even my beast agreed to let her lead us. That is how much we trust our mate and how much we love her. What’s important is that everything is settled. I never thought that the past was still haunting me until Lorena came. Maybe it was also the reason why the moon goddess decided to let Cindy be reborn in Clover’s persona. I saw Lorena and Isabel kneel down out of tiredness when I looked around. Lance and James started to look after the wounded warriors. I didn't think it was safe for the others to be called out of the bunker, so I didn’t until we cleaned everything out. The warriors and fighters were all tired, but they wanted to make sure of the safety of their families and loved ones as well. The palace doctors and nurses arrived and started to br

Alder’s POV I hate Cindy’s idea. How can she protect me? It should be the other way around. Her mom, Isabel, told us about Mirasol’s mansions. I was shocked to learn that they have been operating illegal activities for a long time now. How can I be so stupid not to know that? I wanted to raid them all, but Isabel stopped me. She wanted to use that to our advantage. “We can do that after we defeat her,” she said, “How?” Lance asked, “She will be complacent once she notices that we are not raiding all her mansions and will eventually think that we had no idea about it as well,” she answered. “Mirasol will definitely get ahead of herself and will take that as her advantage and think that we have no idea about who we are dealing with or who our enemy is,” Cindy added, “You mean, not attacking any of their mansions will be a bait for them?” Charles asked, and the mother and daughter nodded. “I’m sure that her target will be you, Your Highness. He will try to get into your mind, so

Third Person’s POV “We have to start moving now before they can prepare. There’s no use in trying to get in there through the portal since they managed to make a strong barrier.” Mirasol said, looking at Dan, the Lycan rogue. “We're going in by force?” he asked, and she nodded. “Did you think about it a few times? It’s the palace, and all the strongest and fierce warriors and fighters are there,” he added. “Do you think I am such an idiot not to know about that? Of course, I thought about it, and I am not going to ask you to get ready if I knew that we were going to lose in this war,” she replied angrily. “They had no idea about us yet and were taking advantage of that,” she added. “What if you’re wrong? What if they already knew about us?” Dan asked, “If they already knew about us, they should have raided all our mansions, you idiot! Do you think Alder will let it pass once he knows that the mansion around the palace was actually a hideout of illegal activities? Especially when h

Cindy’s POV Aunt Lorena is really amazing. It has been almost a month since Mom left for the enemy’s turf, but she maintains the barrier. There were no enemy sightings inside the palace territory, which only meant that she was doing a good job. We can’t afford to let them get in using their portal. It will be a disaster since they will just spawn anytime and anywhere they want. We didn’t want that because of every palace member who couldn’t fight, rely on us, and believe in us. It seems to me that the issue with Mom’s ancestors will never end unless Alder’s family is no longer the one on the throne. I don’t know why they were so clingy when they all knew that Mirasol was not Alder’s grandfather’s fated mate. And it was hard to resist the bond. Even when I still had no idea about it, until Alder started calling me his mate and that we were fated mates, I couldn’t totally get rid of him. Always want to see him and always want him to touch me. That’s why I understand the previous king’s

Cindy's POV Mom left after she taught Aunt Lorena how to maintain the barrier. I had no idea about it, and even if my aunt was a strong witch, she never felt it at all. I guess my mother is really good, just like what my aunt said. My worry about everything has started to fade even if Mom confirms how strong our enemies are. I don’t care about that anymore. With her, my aunt, Alder, and our friends and pack members with me, I fear nothing. I believe that we will be able to defeat them since we uphold the core values and the main reason for our existence. The Moon goddess will never let her children suffer at the hands of her own child who went astray. “Lorena, are you sure about this?” Alder asked. We went to see her because mom had told her to be ready. She was worried that after she went after her aunt, they would go back and try to get into the palace territory through their portal. “Yes, I had to eat a lot. What Isabel wanted me to do would drain my energy. Thankfully, I had a

Third Person’s POV “Can you tell her to come and talk to us?” Alder asked, and Cindy nodded before she went quiet again. The others let her talk to her mother, hoping they would be able to get more information about their enemy. Lorena still had reservations but hoped that everything was real. She didn’t want to disappoint her niece when everything turned out to be a fluke. She was sure that the pain it would give her would be unbearable. She knew how much her niece missed her mother, especially when she remembered nothing about her except for the fact that her dad told her not to get mad at Isabel. They waited until Cindy looked at them. “She can’t right now. She said that, in the meantime, she had to leave to check on something. Once she is sure about that, she will be back and meet us in person.” “Why does she need to leave? What is it that she wanted to check out?” Lorena asked, “Mom said it was important, and she wanted you to look out here while she’s away. What’s there to l

Alder’s POV I had a feeling that Cindy was hiding something from me, but I could see that she was debating with herself whether she would tell me it or not. That’s why I always wanted to be with her since I knew that if I did that, she might be able to open up and tell me whatever it was that was bothering me. The next morning, after she had marked me when we were busy with the celebration, I felt that something was bothering her. It was an instant because I still felt how happy she was, and then suddenly, she became uneasy. Trying to hide my worry was extremely difficult. After we marked each other, we could easily tell how we were with each other without asking. Since I already knew that I could try to hide my emotions, unlike her. She’s new to our kind and how we really are. During my regular meetings with my beta and gamma, as well as the head of the patrol guards, I could feel her being worried and then angry. So, I had to excuse myself after she answered me through our link abo

Cindy’s POVRoaming around the palace was one thing I liked to do the most. Although there was a threat to me, especially to my mate, I don’t care about that now. He made sure that he was fine, and I believed him. Why? I trust my mother. She’s going to come to me once she finds out something that may lead to hurting me. I actually didn’t understand everything that was happening. I mean, I am Cindy Mills, a billionaire and the daughter of the wealthiest man in the country who happens to have witch's blood. Only he is not because he is a man. On the other hand, my mother was also a witch. A powerful one, I guess, since her ancestor managed to invade the previous queen’s mind and kill her. What I can’t get is the fact that I am in Clover’s body, who was a pure wolf. Only my soul was in her body, so how come I have a witchy aura? Does that aura connect to my soul? Aunt Lorena told me that being a witch runs only with the women in our family. Everyone in the palace was rejoicing as they also felt their king and queen’s bond getting stronger. One thing about a Lycan being with its fated mate is that it gave the entire kingdom an unexplainable bind as well. Every pack will become connected to its king and queen.Because of the completion of their bond, the morning in the palace becomes special. The omegas prepared their breakfast intended for everyone.
