The next morning, we got up early; I went for a quick shower, stepping out from the water I wrapped a towel around me as Anders walked into, he bathroom.
“Still mad at me, or are you going to join me?” He asked with a smirk.
“Join him, you know you want to.” Daciana Purred, “Look at our sexy mate.”
He was naked from the waist up; I had to tear my eyes away from his muscled chest. I looked at his face and almost caved when his piercing blue-grey eyes met mine.
“He was kissed by another woman right in front of you, don’t you dare cave.” Zemira snapped, as Daciana growled.
“Still mad, I muttered as I walked past him, letting my towel fall as I left the bathroom.” I heard him growl in frustration before the shower turned on again.
“Good work, make him regret pissing you off.” Zemira cheered.
Laughing, I walked into the closet and, finding a low-cut tank top and jean shorts, I put them on and double checked my luggage to make sure I had everything.
Anders walked out of the bathroom and headed to the closet, “why are you still mad, I explained it to you already.” He said as he walked out in jeans and was pulling a white t-shirt over his head.
I shrugged, “I plan to make sure it never happens again.”
“So, you are torturing me?”
“O prefer to think of it as teaching you a lesson.”
“What should I have done? Thrown her on the floor.”
“Yes or thrown her across the room.”
“Still think you should have killed her.” Daciana scolded me.
“I don’t want to leave until we have this settled between us.”
He walked towards me, stopping just in front of me, “You are being unfair.” I retorted.
“How am I being unfair?” he chuckled.
I tried to avoid looking at him, “Come on Isla, look at those puppy dog eyes. Forgive him.” Daciana coaxed.
“Fine, I will put it behind us, but don’t think you can win every argument with you puppy dog eyes.” I scolded him.
“Puppy dog eyes? I think you mean wolf's eyes.”
I play punched his arm right before he pulled me into a hug and kissed my neck where his mate mark was sending shivers down my spine.
“Don’t you start, we have to get going.” I laughed as I tried to push him away.
“Come on, we still have time before we have to go.” He smirked, looking down at me.
“You really are manipulative, you know that.”
I wrapped my legs around his waist and kissed him, my mouth opened, inviting him in as he carried me to the bed. He put me down and took his shirt off before leaning back over me, his hand slid underneath my shirt and bra, cupping my breast.
I heard a knock at the door, and he growled, “what now?” he growled, removing his hand and getting up to answer the door. I got up and fixed my clothes, I grabbed his shirt off the floor and walked up behind him.
I handed him his shirt and as he glared at his brothers and Shaw.
“Sorry bro, did we interrupt?” Alec laughed.
“What do you want?” he asked as he pulled his shirt on over his head.
“Wanted to go over some things with you before you head out.” Thane shared.
“Fine, I’ll meet you in my office in a few minutes.”
“That’s all it takes, huh?” Alec laughed again.
“Watch it.” Anders warned him, as they turned to head towards Anders’s office.
Anders closed the door, “Now where were we?”
“You were going to your office, and I am going to get breakfast.” I answered him.
“Oh, come on.”
“Go, they are helping you run the pack in your absence. Make sure they have all the information they need.”
“You are a bossy Luna, you know that.”
“You love it.”
“Maybe.” He quickly kissed me and headed to his office.
The maids came to grab our luggage and haul it downstairs. I followed behind them, heading to the kitchen to grab something for breakfast.
Omen was already in the kitchen when I entered, drinking a cup of coffee.
“Morning Queen Isla, how are you today?”
“I’m fine, but please just call me Isla.”
He nodded, “Until we get to the coven, anyway.”
I poured myself a cup of coffee and grabbed a banana muffin that was cooling on the counter.
“So, what will happen when we get there exactly, do they even know I am coming?” I asked Omen before taking a bite of my muffin.
“They have been made aware, I will introduce you to the leaders of the covens that are under you, and we will plan your coronation.”
“Covens? I thought my mother was Queen of one coven?”
“She is, but the coven has others under their control. Our coven is one of the strongest in the world, so other covens have pledged allegiance to us and see us as their ruler, and in return we offer them protection when they need it. “
“How far is it from here?”
“About half a day away by car, we are basically your neighbours.”
It might be harder to figure out what my mother was running from than I thought. I thought it was simply a single coven.
“I could have told you that they had others attached to it, it branches out like a tree. My coven is the single point that the tree starts from,” Zemira bragged.
“Well, aren’t you special?” Daciana barked.
“Stuff it goddess born.”
“Remember what he said about you two arguing?”
“Yeah, yeah, a weak vessel could break.” Zemira stated sarcastically.
“Everything okay?” Omen asked me.
“Yes.”
“Are you ready to go?” Anders asked us as he entered the kitchen.
I finished my coffee and nodded.
“Yes.”
“What should we do about Ashina?” Shaw asked, “Do you want her to stay in the dungeon or have you come up with a punishment for her?”
I looked at Anders, “It’s up to you, love.”
She was just trying to protect me, but I almost lost Anders because of it, I really didn’t know what to do with her and she was my auntie. “Leave her in the dungeon, and we will deal with it when we get back.”
“Very well.”
“Move her to the medical wing dungeon rooms though they are cleaner and give her some books or something to read, bloody boring being locked up.” I added.
“Thank you, Isla.” Shaw smiled.
“That was kind of you.” Omen commented.
I shrugged, “Not really, she is still locked up and will be punished. I also know why she did what she did, so really am not sure how to deal with it.”
One of the omegas entered the kitchen, “Alpha, the cars are here.” She informed Anders.
“Shall we?” he asked me. I nodded and took his hand.
Walking outside, I saw some of the Packs men loading our luggage into the back of a black car.
Anders opened the door for me, I sat down, and he closed the door. Moving to the other side, he opened the door and sat next to me. Omen sat in the passenger seat up front.
Feeling Anders' unease about leaving the pack, I held his hand, and he lifted my hand to his mouth, kissing it. His eyes swirling between his normal blue-grey color to red.
I closed my eyes and leaned against Anders when the car was put into gear and I could see the pack's castle in the rear-view mirror.
Isla rested her head on my shoulder as she slept. The car ride was taking longer than expected, but I also knew when magic was being used, they were making me think it was farther than it was because they didn’t trust me. “Do you plan on using your magic to manipulate us the whole time?” I asked Omen, annoyed. “Picked up on that, did you?” he chuckled. “Kind of hard to miss.” I stated angrily. “We mean no offence our cars are enchanted to do this, so if we are traveling with strangers they can’t remember turns or travel time, it is a way we use, to protect our kind, unlike wolves we don’t have teeth or claws." “He makes a good point, beside this also means Isla will be safe from Zeeb and his men.” Vilkas, my wolf agreed. I looked at Isla and brushed her long, black hair away from her face as she slept. I couldn’t believe that a mission with my father had warped so drastically. Now hybrids were safe, and I could be with my mate, yet we still had so much we had to deal with. “We w
I wasn’t even inside the room yet, and I could smell my mother's scent. Gods, How I missed her. I looked up at Anders, “I miss her.” He nodded, and I released the doorknob as he pulled me into a hug. “Come on.” I smiled as I pulled away, wiping the tears from my face. I opened the door and entered my mother's old quarters. Anders looked around the space, “Wow.” “This is so, my mom.” I grinned at him as I looked at the gothic styled room. Red and black bedding on a large canopy bed with black dressers and a mirror. In the corner was a red couch and chair and a black coffee table. Skulls and symbols decorated the walls and shelves. A larger bookshelf stood beside the sitting area filled with books on myths, legends, romance, and the occult. I walked over to a door and opened it, inside was a large bathroom with a clawfoot bathtub, black and white counters, and a walking shower on the far wall. I walked out of the bathroom and opened another door, inside was a small office with the
I was already uncertain about bringing Isla here, and with the conversation I just overheard, I felt like I was surrounded by enemies.“Come on, let’s head back.” Isla told me.We nodded and followed as we backed away from the clearing.“Maybe we should head back to the pack.” I suggested to her.“No, I need to find out who or what my mother needed to hide from, I want to know the truth.”“Very well, but I will not leave. You have to promise to let me protect you.”“We are very capable of protecting ourselves.” Zemira snapped at us.“Still, I want you to promise.” I argued, annoyed with Zemira.“Very well.” Isla answered, “under the condition that you let us protect you.”Vilkas laughed, “You can protect me whenever you like.”We ran to the best of our ability through the congested forest, aside from the path to the clearing we found earlier. There was no sign that anyone had been in this forest for years. When we finally made it back to the tree, our clothes were left at, the sky was
Picking up on Omen’s threat to my mate, I was angry, and I let it consume me. Zemira and Daciana were angry as well, and before I knew what was happening, I was slipping into the background as Zemira stepped forward. Daciana and I watched as Zemira put her foot down and told off Omen. I knew I had to learn to control my spirits and their abilities, but whereas Daciana was cooperative and like a friend to me, I didn’t know how to communicate with Zemira. She was a harder and colder version of myself; she was also a reincarnate of someone, which confused me, because in my past lives I was always a werewolf, so how could a reincarnated witch be attached to my soul now? Zemira waved her hand at Omen dismissing him as she walked away from him, I could sense Anders following behind us. He caught up to us by grabbing our shoulder, “Zemira?” he asked, turning us to face him. “What is it?” She asked coldly. “First off, thank you.” We nodded as he continued, “Can you let Isla have control
I looked around confused, “Where am I?”I was in Forrest, but the trees emitted an energy that told me I was trespassing and was not welcome. It was clouded in darkness.“We are where it all started.” Zemira stated walking out from behind a tree, she looked like me apart from her eyes. She had long black hair, and elvish face, her body was slim but curvy where it counted. She wore a black dress that shimmered red when she moved. Her eyes were a piercing ice blue that made her look ethereal.“Where I was created.”“Created?” I asked, confused.“Just watch.” She fumed.I was in a clearing in the forest and my mother was standing at the center, surrounding her were members of the coven, some of them were the ones Anders and I had seen in the forest talking. Omen was there as well.“Our Queen is pregnant with the werewolves child and a future hybrid. I high honor for our Coven.” Omen announced. My mother was glowing. Her long black hair shimmered in the moonlight, making her ice-blue eyes
I stared at the woman who was standing beside Omen; she was the woman who had freed me from Zeebs witch’s entrapment. Had Isla just called her Murdina? “I’m Mila, it’s nice to meet you.” She replied to Isla, looking confused. “You don’t remember?” Isla asked frowning. “Remember what?” “You were Murdina.” “I don’t know what you mean.” Isla looked frustrated, “It’s nice to meet you, Mila.” She said as she sat down, the rest of us doing the same. “I look forward to getting to know you, I am to help you learn your witch abilities.” Mila smiled. “I have a feeling you two will get along great.” Omen added. “Thank you for your help in the pack.” I told her. Isla looked at me confused and I answered, “She was the witch that freed me from Zeebs witch's spell.” I told Isla. “Thank you for your help.” Isla told her and she smiled in response. “Anything for the Queen.” She bowed. “Speaking of which, we need to plan your coronation and wedding.” Omen shared. “Wedding? Coronation?”” “
I couldn’t believe that I had found Murdina. Although I had made the mistake of assuming that she would remember who I was. I had no doubt it was her, but now I needed to figure out how to get her to remember. “She is lucky not to remember, she has been in almost every life with you and if she were to remember, it could break her mind. You need to be careful how you approach this.” Daciana informed me. “She is a witch. She is a lot stronger than you give her credit for, wolf.” Zemira snapped. “You need to concentrate.” Mila scolded me. “Sorry.” Okay, you see that bench over there?” “Yes.” “I want you to focus on calling up the wind and pushing it over.” “That’s the only pointer you have?” I frowned at her, and she laughed. “Magic works different for each of us and what helps me control mine might not work for you. Think about your witch spirit's personality. What do you think her triggers are?” Mila suggested. “I don’t know. I just met her and up until a month or so ago, she
It was cowardly of me to leave like I did, but things had just seemed to settle. I was no longer waiting to be executed, the Shadow Moon Pack wasn't a threat at the moment and Anders and I were finally together. Sure, we still had the upcoming war and had to find Una and Murdina, but at least it was something that we had a plan for. This. I had no plan for. Now Omen had the audacity to waltz in and destroy the moment of peace I had found since the day my parents were killed and drop yet another bombshell. How else was I supposed to react? How could that even be possible? If my mother was Queen, why didn't she tell me? Why would she have run away with my father? They could have lived with her coven. I entered the pack kitchen, which was busy as omegas ran about cooking meals and preparing for the day. I grabbed a cup of coffee and sat on the counter, digesting what I had just been told. Anders walked into the kitchen as he scanned the room, his eyes settled on me. He walked up and
