“No!”
A scream escaped my mouth as I flutter my eyes opened. Catching my breath I looked at the place where I was in, making sure that I was in the right place.
It took me seconds to process that I was in the maid’s room. Relief washed over me.
Sweat cascaded down my neck as I tried to calm my nerves.
The light from the early morning shined past through my opened window. The wind caressed the curtains and the place was all serene.
“Oh…” I took in a deep breath.
My eyebrows frowned in confusion.
“Wait. How did I get back here in the room?” My heart began to rumble inside my chest as images of what happened last night came back into my memory.
I was in the dark forest looking for that flower and I was so scared. I ran and sought refuge in a dilapidated house and…
My eyes went wide in fear.
“The beast!” I gasped, all of the memories just came back now. “Oh, goodness.” I scrambled out of bed and immediately went to open the door, searching for some traces of blood whatsoever. But I saw nothing.
The whole place was quiet, just like the days before, and there was nothing unusual about the palace. The maids must have gone to their respective tasks.
I swallowed a lump in my throat. Worry started to eat me from the inside.
I just discovered something last night, there was a beast hidden deep in the woods.
“I am so sure he’s going to hunt for me.” A shiver run through her body at the thought that the beast is going to look for her.
The last thing I remembered was that the beast was released from its confinement and I stood before me, he growled and roared like he was about to devour me, and then there was darkness.
I never knew what happened next. “Who brought me back here? Was it all a dream last night?”
But, why did the beast let me go? With that kind of beast, he should have shredded me to pieces, but here I am, alive and breathing.
I let out a frustrated sigh and went to prepare myself for my task. Beatrice would surely be angry at me for being late and for not getting that flower.
It’s been a month since I was sold as a slave to work here in the Alpha King’s Castle.
A weak human like me had no choice but to conform to all of the Council’s rules, and that includes working for the Royal family.
For thousands of years, Denbross was ruled by a powerful Werewolf clan, the Moon Guardians Pack. They maintain the peace and order of the realm. Though humans, werewolves and witches lived in Debross, the Alpha King will always see to it that no war is brewing between species.
“Where have you been last night, Amelia? I was waiting for you to come back, but you didn’t.” Beatrice high-pitched voice welcome me when I entered the main kitchen.
She threw some deadly glare at me.
I just bit my lip, confused whether to tell her my encounter last night, or I will just have to keep it to myself.
“Well, she’s new, what do you expect from a human slave like her? Besides, she’s dumb, Beatrice, don’t expect so much from her. It’s best to assign her to clean the dungeons instead of helping here in the kitchen.” Assenta smirked as she walked past me.
Assenta had been hard on me since day one. She’s an omega and feels superior to humans like me just because she has werewolf blood.
The dungeons she’s talking about was where the King’s pet were hidden.
“I’m so sorry, Beatrice. I…” I was about to explain to her why I didn’t get the flower when Marcion came rushing to the kitchen.
“Hey, guys! This is serious! You won’t believe what I heard.”
He was catching his breath and sweat covered his entire face and neck.
All heads turned to Marcion, curious at the news he’s going to spill.
“Last night… a whole village was massacred. No one survived and all the bead bodies were heavily mutilated. I swear I got goosebumps all over me when I heard the news!” His eyes were wide in fear.
Beatrice gasped in horror.
“What do you mean a whole village was massacred? That’s impossible, Macion, it has been thousands of years since that kind of brutality happened. The Alpha king made sure to secure the whole kingdom.” Assenta countered, not believing a single thing Marcion said.
I swallowed hard.
“How the bloody hell did that happened? Are you sure it’s true, Marcion?” Beatrice was curious now.
I, on the other hand, stood frozen there at the kitchen entrance.
Was it possible? Was it the beast who killed those innocent villagers?
“You don’t believe me? Go and ask the guard, they were all securing the whole realm, and Alpha Kelvin was so furious. He was with the Council right now. I think they went to hunt whoever did that gruesome thing.”
Without saying anything, I left the kitchen and went back to the maid’s room. My knees were weak and my whole body was shivering in fear.
It was all true. What happened last night was true. I came face to face with the beast and now the whole realm was in chaos because he killed an entire village.
“I need to get out of here. I am sure he will find me here in the castle.”
I ran back to the room, determined to leave the palace. I can’t stay in this place.
But as soon as I entered the room, I was greeted by a different kind of aura. A strong and powerful aura that made my body tingle in excitement.
I halted just outside the door and my eyes widened when I saw the Alpha King, Alpha Kelvin inside the room.
He was sitting exactly at my bed, his electric-blue eyes drilled directly into my soul.
My body froze as the familiar kind of feeling hit me, the same feeling I felt last night when I came face to face with the beast. Excitement, longing and desire.
“You…” I whispered, my voice shaking in shock and disbelief.
No, it can’t be. My mind refuse to believe what I was thinking.
Something flashed in his eyes, his aura was dominating the whole room, making me unable to move from where I was standing.
“Yes, it’s me.” He growled.
I took a step back, my knees were shaking. I wanted to run but my body wouldn’t let me, it was like there was a foreign force that kept me from doing what my mind wanted to do.
“Alpha Kelvin.” I breathe out, gasping for air.
“This is all your fault!”
His voice boomed and felt the room shake from the intensity of it.
“If you weren’t so nosy last night, those people in the village wouldn’t die.”
The rage and regret in his eyes were so visible and it made my heart bleed that he was feeling it that way.
Alpha Kelvin stood up from bed and his eyes changed from electric blue to golden yellow. His claws grew and he growled at me like he wanted to shred me into pieces.
But, something inside me was stirred just by looking at him.
I should be running away now. I should be scared now to death knowing that the beast from last night was the Alpha King but, instead, there was something inside me that felt relieved, and that got me confused and baffled.
“Alpha Kelvin, you are the unhinged beast I saw last night.” I boldly said.
Within a split second, I was pinned to the ground. The Alpha’s heavy weight was on me and his sharp claws circled my neck, digging into my flesh, making me wince in pain.
Aside from the pain in my neck, there was a tingling sensation that electrified my body. I can’t explain it, but with the Alpha above my body, I wanted him to slam on me and take me.
My face flushed as an intrusive thought came into my mind.
I absentmindedly pulled my head to the side to reveal my neck to the Alpha.
“Alpha.. Please.. It’s so hot...” I moaned, unable to control my voice. I didn’t even recognized my own voice.
I was burning in need and all I could think of was him ramming inside of me.
Kelvin’s POVI woke up with blood bathed all over my body. The smell of burning wood assaulted my senses, making me open my eyes in shock.“What the hell happened?” My voice boomed as I looked at my bloodied body. Confusion washed over me. “The fuck is happening?”The heat of the fire almost devoured me, making me wince in pain. As I scanned the place, a realization hit me - I was in a forest, the fire was huge, eating away the small house.I squinted at the bodies that were lying on the ground, there were too many of them, and the reek of blood was all over the place. My heart pounded hard inside my chest as fear started to devour me. The memories from last night was blurry, and I couldn’t find the reason why I was in this place, with the fire that burning every house of the village and with those corpses lying on the ground. “Fuck!” I cursed, my head fucking hurt. All I could remember was that I was in the dungeon last night because it was the time of the month.I closed my eyes
Kelvin’s POVRealization hit me, she worked here in the castle as a servant. Damn! The weak human girl who is my mate is a servant here! Is there anything more humiliating than that? My teeth gritted at the thought. The Moon Goddess just gave me a weak human mate who is working as a maid! She didn’t even give me a wolf spirit when I was born, now she’s giving me a useless mate! I hated how the Moon Goddess was mocking me. Damn it! I am the Alpha King of Debross and she’s playing with my fate like I am a goddamn toy! My eyes scanned the tiny room. There were no fancy things, and there was only a small bed in the corner, but the room smelled so sweet that it intoxicated my senses. The heat started to creep into my veins. The thought of having her as my mate doesn’t sit well in my mind. But, whenever I smelled her sweet scent, my body would always react. It was like a battle between my head and groin. I looked down on my shaft that’s now hard as a rock. “Fuck! You gotta be kidding
I held my breath as I stared at the dense forest before me. My heart was racing like a damn horse inside my chest it almost hurts. “I can do this,” I whispered, my voice shaking in fear. I’ve heard stories about the dark forest but all are just myths passed down from generation to generation. Beatrice, the castle’s head maid wants me to find an Arello, a flower that only blooms at night. Since I am the newest household help, I don’t have the power to say no to the task given. The flower was said to have healing properties, especially from insect bites. As I started to take my journey to the dark forest, my thoughts came rushing inside my head. This place was filled and dominated by creatures that were way stronger than I am. A mere human like me had no match for the strength possessed by werewolves and witches. That thought alone makes me shiver to the bones. I swallowed the invisible lump in my throat. The sky was a deep purple hue, the clouds were dense and the moon was out o
