“What is this I’m hearing? Lady Magny is going to be the Queen after the Moon Arrival?” Marquis of Balijour stormed in huffing, “What nonsense is this?”

Laylin looked up from the document only for a second before busying herself in sorting reports she wanted to have a second word on.

“Let’s see.” She chewed on her lower lip before nodding to the map and the widest land on it. “Here, see, this land belongs to her father and he is the wealthiest with immense riches and honor in Rakhbar. If she was to be in the seat beside the Queen, the nobility opposition party will dissolve on its own.”

Doing so she turned back to her documents, ignoring the prick she felt in her eyes. She didn’t even know what they got back from that villa yesterday night but what was weird, was that her escort didn’t know too.

Apparently the King had brought her after she passed out, eating and drinking her fill.

He spoke nicely to her for a change but apparently every man did when getting another woman. The dif

She ran through the hallways, her eyes reddened and her heart heavy. Her entourage ran behind her calling out her name. “Princess Laylin, stop!” Berilla caught her arm and tried to drag her back, “Laylin, you can’t get swept away. I’ll ask them the details and bring you a report but let’s go now. You are forbidden to leave the palace!” A sob tore through her lips as Laylin shook her off and ran to the direction of the prison. When she reached there the guards blocked the door forbidding her entry. She took one glance at them before unsheathing a sword from her own escort who was behind her. A commotion broke out, as everyone took a step away from the hysterical princess. “Get out of my way!” She pointed the swords at them but none even budged a step. Scoffing, she turned the blade to point at her own neck. Several gasps followed a wave of anxiety. “Get out of my way this instance!” The guards now looked freaked out, if the Princess really took her life in front of the prison a

Laylin eyes fluttered open as an eerie peace surrounded her whole body. She felt empty yet too full to process anything else. The memories of the day before came to her in bits and pieces. As she felt she had exhausted all her tears, they still flooded her lids. “Ahh… Are you still mourning that wretched woman?” A sarcastic sneer startled her and she got up abruptly. Laylin's head snapped to her window where Sayon was sitting. She almost cried out in fright as the demoness hurried closer to her. “Don’t you dare come close or I’ll scream.” she urgently exclaimed, wincing when the cry made her head ring. Sayon, who also looked flabbergasted by the threat, scowled a moment later. “You think only you have tricks up your sleeves?” Sneering, she moved her hand and all her windows softly closed. “No one can hear us till we are in this room.” She smirked and came close to her bed. Laylin wasted no time in getting off the bed to head to the door. She hurriedly draped a shawl over her ni

Scarlet sat looking out of the window speechlessly. He had locked her up because according to him she had caused an unjustified uproar in the Imperial Palace but the truth was that his little bed-warmer wasn’t doing well and he needed someone to blame. She agonized at the humiliation she had to suffer. How was he any different from her previous tormentor? He just had an extended leash for her. She eyed the food on the tray. It would still taste bland to her and right now she wished to feel anything. With a sarcastic sneer, she flipped the table, startling her maid. Some sighed slowly, others just stared irritably and she understood each glare that fell at her. She must look pathetic to them. "How dare she?! How could she?!" She shouted and broke things. Her maids stood by looking, as she hurt herself. If they tried to stop her it would only get worse. Hazi entered the scene and a smirk emerged on his face before disappearing without a trace. The princess was totally out of it. H

With shaking hands, she stood in the corner holding two glasses and a drink. She was supposed to pour him a drink as the traditions stated. The King who did drink this festive drink presumably lived and ruled for a long time. Initially, only a woman of the Rakhbar Royal Family could pour it but Scarlet was on probation and Magny wasn’t formally married into the family. Behind her, were her two diligent maids, quizzically looking over her shoulder. “... Princess, do you need help?” Halo finally asked, confused by her stalling. Shaken out of her trance she passed them a curt smile. “Why are there no refreshments severed for the King? Go with Sami and arrange it now.” From the corner of her eyes, she saw them leave and took out the sachet from her bust. She sighed, having second thoughts. Her heart beat so fast she felt it could burst at any moment. Cold sweat broke out, making her feel suffocated. Could she do this to a person? Even if it was him, could she live having played with

Laylin leaped to stand on the railing too. The whole crowd was dead silent as Ambrose took an angry stride in her direction. It seemed Princess Scarlet realized the situation she was in. She staggered back several steps trying to flee but the man accompanying her held her by her shoulders from the back. In quick movements, he snatched the wolf's head from her hand and threw it on the floor. With a loud blaring shriek, it released fumes that consumed both of them. A heavy wave penetrated the air, sending them all flying away. Laylin collapsed on the King’s throne while others weren’t this lucky. Frantically, she leaped on her foot to see Ambrose standing there with a rustic spear struck in his abdomen. “Oh Lord,” she whispered, feeling the heavily disturbed natural auras in the air. Something malicious had entered the air and she felt the temperature had eerily dropped. She felt weak to her bones as if something was squeezed out of her. “What the hell is this thing to injure him l

'SLASH!' Laylin felt flustered for only a second before she alleviated his sword and dagger with her aura pointing right at his neck. One from behind the other from the front. “I’m in a bind right now. I’m sure God won’t punish me for killing an assailant.” She seemed like a veteran criminal going about her crimes as if they were justified. Her cynical mannerism chilled him to his bones. His lips parted as he eyed the daggers in the air. Laylin's palm was getting sweaty as the footsteps grew closer. She needed to run for her life. "I wonder, why you aren’t getting rid of me, in that case.” he hesitantly baited her. She pursed her lips, There was no way she could carry the King out of here on her own and there was no telling when her aura will wane away. She was surprised, it hadn’t already. She had never used her aura for anything more than warming her tea or her bath water. Laylin’s eyes widened in incredulity before she scoffed up at him. “I need you for manual labor but I c

“Sire!” She tried to separate them but Ambrose looked murderous. His eyes glazed. He must be losing his senses. The poison was supposed to dull them... It was getting out of hand and he wasn’t letting him go. She raised her hand to use her aura but the shattering of glass beat her. The guards outside must have found a way in because of the voices. A second later a commotion broke out “Sire, we need to leave!” He turned to her, his eyes livid. She knew at once he wanted to fight to take back his throne instead of leaving. Rurik flailed about, struggling to breathe as Ambrose choked him with one hand. “...Sire, I wish to leave. You can come back but you are poisoned now. Both of us will die.” Looking into his eyes, she felt herself go numb under his blank stare before she finally summoned the courage to push him away from the dying man and he let her. Rurik fell on the floor, coughing ad wheezing. The King turned to her before he wordlessly stepped away from Rurik. The commotion h

She tried to light up the fire again but it only flickered in her end and died down. Her head spun, making her lose her sight for a second. Her sigh conveyed her frustration. Her aura had almost run out. Laylin nodded. A good distraction will give them a good fighting chance. “Okay, but we need to move fast.” As she said that she felt the ceiling again, men weren’t that close. They were probably out of these prison walls surveying the place looking out for them. After listening for several seconds, she peeked up and indicated him to move up. He at once dumped Ambrose on the floor but Laylin was fast in cushioning his fall. “I’ll pull him up and when the guards come for him we can escape safely…” He went on explaining his plan as with his both arm he climbed up. “...From there we just need to find a passage that leads out of-” “Rurik.” “… The Palace

She kept her hand on her belly and smiled solemnly. He was a piece of her and her husband. An heir to her lover. “Ahh.. To be young. Though I don’t really like the man, I certainly despise him less than your mother does. I’m not much of a success as a Red Witch so I have no such obsession with bloodlines or species. I just care for my family.” Laylin bit her bottom lip, shrugging. “Mother is... She will come around.” “Hmm, hope so. But I see... you look madly in love.” Berilla teased, looking at her distracted expression. "It must hurt your pride to love him more than he loves you." “What? No!” Laylin rolled her eyes, her smile still playing on her lips. “He’s the one who is chasing me. I just set my grace on my eager lover.“ She was flexing when both of them knew, Laylin was crazy enough in love to dive head-first in a war zone or in front of a raging monster. Laylin looked away. "N-No, please!” The startled young witch screamed and poured her aura in with all her strength as her life flashed before her. ‘FWISSSH…’ The witch toppled back on her ass, waiting to die but as the creature collided with the magic circle it emitted a bright, blinding light. The monster's movements slow, and it gradually, in a fraction of a second, evaporated in the air. It became quiet and all the witches huffed in disbelief, as if under a spell. “Good work.” Laylin turned to the witches with a smile. “This is how any witch, weak or strong, can make the teleportation magic circle.” She clapped her hands, “Well, nobody’s dead, so let’s go under the lake.” It may sound twisted but she enjoyed their fear especially Valerie who was pale. She felt gleefully satisfied. Now, sure, no one will question her about the potency of her magic circle. She felt bad for Eloise but it couldn’t be helped, she was the weakest witch and thus the perfect person to show them the spell worked. Seizing

For the sake of everyone. I don’t want a commotion.” She was so calm that it was creepy. Her lazy eyes fell on the Dark Wizard and she smirked. The Dark Wizard tried to cast a spell but nothing worked, he couldn’t take anything as the source. The Dark Wizard had little to no aura or couldn’t control their auras like Valerie. There are two sources for using magic. One is auras that are taken from nature and one is life sources. Dark magicians fuel their magic with life forces which means they kill to do magic. But it doesn’t have to be beasts or humans, depending on the magnitude of the spell even insects can be used for simple spells. She had protected every living being with her aura in the perimeter. Her snake rubbed its head against her neck, and she caressed its scales with a smirk. She enjoyed the Dark wizard's desperate attempts
