98. Find her

RAYA'S POV

As I search for Lia, I can feel my heart racing with fear and desperation. I can feel the cold sweat forming on my forehead, making my vision blur. I call out her name over and over again, but there is no answer. I look around, but I can’t see her anywhere. I feel like my world is falling apart.

My mother is beside herself with worry. She’s yelling Lia’s name, searching frantically through the woods. She’s angry, but mostly hopeless. I can see the fear and the worry etched on her face. I know she’s thinking the same thing I am – that Lia is gone, lost forever.

"Mother, what should we do?" I ask, my voice shaking with fear. "Lia is gone, she's nowhere to be found." Tears stream down my face as I think about what could have happened to my little sister.

"Get your things, we need to find her," Mother says, her voice firm but full of worry. She walks around, calling out Lia's name, her voice ringing through the woods. But there's no answer, just the sounds of the driver's angry
