Joana's POV

Cold, that would be the word used to describe how I felt. I slowed down my breathing to control my anxiety as I clenched on to the documents in my hand.

I could hear them murmuring, whispering and laughing maniacally. They were all in the room, the whole family.

“Good evening,” I muttered with a smile as I walked into the room. Suddenly the chattering stopped and they all turned to me with a sinister stare. They didn't even try to hide the hate and anger in their gaze.

“What is it?” My husband, Alpha Finn asked.

“It better be good. As you can see, I am having a fun time,” He added as he slowly wrapped his hand around a strange lady's waist.

I recognized her scent, her fragrance rather. It had been coming off Finn anytime he claimed he went for a business trip.

“How do you stand this wrench, brother?” My brother in-law Josiah asked with a sneer.

“I have told him countless times. This lady can't be an Alpha’s wife but he wouldn't listen,” His wrinkled mother said without even acknowledging the fact that I was in the room.

I stood, quiet with a smile on my face.

“Are you just going to stand there or are you going to tell me why you interrupted our family time?” Alpha Finn asked, this time with a louder and angry tone.

“I thought I was family,” I responded with a smile on my lips.

“Well, I brought you the Hilary file. I have closed the deal and that's the paperwork,” I said, handing one of the documents in my hand over to him.

“Did she really close Hilary? That family is impossible to deal with?” Josiah questioned. He drew closer to confirm its authenticity.

“I will be damned! She did it, she closed the biggest family in the league,” Josiah exclaimed with a surprised look on his face.

“Well done wife,” Finn muttered with a smirk as he poured himself a drink.

“You might have bought yourself a few months under my roof. Keep this up and maybe I will announce you to the people as my second Luna,”

His words set a fire in my stomach. I was filled with rage and hate but I didn't want to let it sway me. Sometimes I hate myself for falling for his cheap tricks.

“Maybe? Maybe you will announce me as your second Luna?” I repeated as a question. My gaze swept across the room, lingering on each face individually.

“You should be glad he is picking you for something. I was just telling him to throw you out,” His mother gave me a swift answer.

“Your work here is done Joana. We gave you purpose while you helped build our company. We have done enough for you,” Josiah chipped in.

“So you are going to send me away? And replace me with that?” I asked, pointing at the lady who sat beside my husband with a smile on her face.

“The next time you refer to my wife without respect, I will cut off your tongue,” Finn threatened, keeping a fierce eye contact with me.

“So, she is your wife now?” I asked loudly with a smile.

“Oh wow! I am just going to be cast out?”

“Sweetheart you were never in. Don't fool yourself,” His mother responded.

“But I am not a monster. I know you are nothing without me, so I am going to be lenient. You can be with me as my mistress and if you please me enough, I might consider promoting your status,”

“Your mistress? Finn, you proposed,” I uttered with shock written all over my face.

“You asked me out, you proposed, we became partners and shared same dreams and goals,”

“You think a nobody can level up to my standard? You are nothing to me and to my pack.” He said to me.

And at that moment, it all turned to dust. My feelings for him, the love I had, everything that was holding me back from giving them the shock of their lives.

“Look at her pitiful expression. Just disgusting!” His mother exclaimed.

“I can't even stand the look on her face. Please dismiss her,”

“Don't worry, I will dismiss myself,” I waved her off.

“But let me say something,” I added with a smile.

“Say what you want and excuse us. We were having a good time before you ruined it with your presence,” Josiah responded sharply.

“Take this and make sure it's signed,” I instructed as I handed the second document over to him.

“She gave me an order,” He chuckled softly as he received the file from my hand.

The moment he took a look at the content of the document, all his smiles faded. He pushed away his whore as he stood to his feet, staring at the document in confusion.

“Brother, what is it? Is everything okay?” Josiah walked to his brother's side to take a look also.

“What the hell is this?” He exclaimed.

“It's what you see. You are going to sign the divorce document before the end of today.”

“Or what?” Finn growled angrily with a fierce gaze.

A gaze that didn't rattle me because I had already made up my mind weeks before, I was done with him.

“You either sign it or you forfeit the Hilary's. If you can read, you will see that it was stated that their partnership is solely dependent upon you signing the damn divorce paper,” I responded with a soft voice and a bright smile.

“You crazy bitch! Even when he signs, you will still own twenty percent of his company,” Josiah pointed out a fact that brought me joy.

“ Correction, our company. I built that enterprise with Finn for five years. And I fought to get fifty percent but you were bailed out by your alpha's status,”

“You are going to regret this,” Finn said with a deep and intimidating voice.

“I doubt that Finn. I think you are the one that is going to regret it, you and your family.”

“ Twenty percent is nothing, Joana. In a year, we can liquidate it to nothing and you will be left with dust. Where will you go then?” Josiah said to me.

I laughed at how clueless they all were. I won't blame them, I played my card well and I had been for years.

“Josiah, when I'm done with your family, the twenty percent would be the only thing you will have,” I stated clearly with a smile.

That joy they had when I walked in, was gone.

“Why does it state here that you will be residing in the Thorson mansion? Is that why you are acting out?” Finn questioned as he burst into laughter.

“You are divorcing me because you are some billionaire's whore? God! I am going to bring down the world around you,”

“Hold your threat, you fucked up mummy's boy! You think you scare me? You don't!” I said to him with a fierce look.

I took steps closer to him, feeling his hot breath slap against my face as he panted heavily.

“Sign this and get it to the pack central hall by nine o'clock tomorrow. And I am nooone’s whore, I am going back home?”

“Home? You are from the Genesis pack?” His brother asked.

“None of you cared to know as you drown yourselves with alcohol and fake personalities. I have been part of you for five years and you never cared,” I said and gave them one last glance before heading for the door.

I was just about to step out when Finn asked,

“ Who are you really?”

“My name is Joana Thorson and I am returning home to claim what's mine,” I announced with a smile and left them with their jaws dropped and eyes almost popping out of their socket.

Joana's POVI had to stay back a few days to conclude the divorce process. And damn, it was the best days of my life. Finally, it was time to head home. I had missed my pack, the scent of cold wind as you drove through 53rd Avenue, the laughter, the coffee. It was amazing. “Ma'am, where are you getting off?” The driver asked as he approached my father's company. “Just drop me at the parking lot. I will make my way from there,” I responded with a smile as I watched workers walking in every direction. Thorson Infrastructure was the number one company in Genesis, infact in the entire Western hemisphere. “Please take my luggage to the mansion. Inform the steward of my return,” I instructed the driver as I alighted the car. “Ofcourse Miss Joana. And welcome home,” The driver remarked with a warm smile before driving off. Nervous? Yes, I was terrified. I had no idea how I was going to be welcomed after leaving home for years without contact. Whispers and stares followed me as I walk

I am to marry a man I know nothing of,” “Wasn't that what you did when you got married to a scum? Joana, stop making it seem like it's a bad thing,” Lucien said as he pulled over in front of the Alpha’s company. “Not a bad thing? I came here to take over what's mine, not to be handed to be someone else's,” I grunted as I stepped out of the car with a fierce look on my face. “You will correct that annoying grin on your face and make yourself look presentable,” “I won't be forced into doing something for a man. I can't be controlled and I won't be,” I responded angrily and proceeded into the company. The Zion Gold company had belonge

Every sound rattled me because somehow I felt I was being watched in the quiet but massive bedroom. “Is this what my life will be ?” I thought outloud. Suddenly my phone buzzed, drifting me out of my thoughts. I turned to it and it was a text, from an old friend of mine. A friend I spent the first half of my lfive years trying to forget and get past because I knew my absence would hurt her more than anyone else. She was like a sister to me,She wanted to meet up for coffee that morning, so I responded with a time and place. It was already six, so I showered and cleaned up. I laid down waiting for it to clock ten. Time became deviously slow. It felt like forever and as soon as it was time, I wasted no second before leaving the room. I signaled to one of the staff who had the driver tag on his uniform. “You are a driver right?” “Yes ma'am.” He replied with a smile. “Okay good. You are now my driver,” “Sor

We had just finished burying him, and I was sitting by the staircase after they finished reading his will. “Does it matter? Give him to sign,” “But ma'am, we can't find him,” The lawyers said with a confused expression. The truth was that I was too tired to think about anything else. I knew my father's death wasn't an accident, and I intended to prove it. I wanted Dire to pay. “Send it to his beta, he will do the proper procedure,” I muttered as I stood from my seat and walked to Sasha who was sobbing terribly by the sofa. “Are you okay?” I asked softly, barely whispering. I couldn't find my voice, I seemed to have lost all my strength. “Yes

Joana's POVI stood in front of Dire, my heart racing. This wasn’t just strange, it was straight-up abduction. But the way he acted, the smile he gave, and the casual gestures, it was as if he didn’t think anything was wrong. Or worse, he knew something I didn’t. His authority was unquestionable, yet he masked it under a layer of disturbing niceness. It was unsettling. I had to get out. “I want to leave.” I said, forcing a smile. I tried to keep my voice steady, trying not to let him see how terrified I really was. Dire raised an eyebrow, his lips curling into a smile as if I had just made an amusing request. “Of course, wife. You may leave whenever you want.” He said smoothly. “But do make sure you’re back by nine. You wouldn’t want to miss our evening together, now, would you?” The way he said "wife" sent a shiver down my spine. His tone was too casual, too calm, and it only made the fear inside me grow. I wanted to snap at him, to lash out, but I couldn’t. Not yet. The fea

It came past me like a gust of wind and the next thing I felt was the hot scorching burn from the wolf's blood. I looked up at it and there was an ax sticking on to its head. My heart skipped a beat as I glared at the image. Out of fear, perhaps. “Joana! Get out of the way,” Theo yelled out to me. His voice startled me into turning to his direction and beside him was Dire, whose hand was still stretched out from throwing the ax. “Are you going to sit on the floor all day?” Dire asked with a smirk. With a fast reflex, I hurried behind them as they conered the wolf to the edge of the woods. “I don't know who you are or what you think you are going to achieve from causing this much turmoil,” Dire spoke with a deep and steady voice that echoed over the lake. “But you made a mistake, you screwed over the wrong man,”

This particular bomb is not out on the market. The military had not yet signed it off,” Lucien replied. “Then what the hell is going on?” I growled angrily, punching the wall with frustration. “Nice hook,” Dire muttered from the doorway, causing us to react in shock. “Can you excuse us?” I gave a nod sign and they left the room leaving me alone with Dire who was looking healthier. He wasn't wearing a shirt, flexing his biceps and abs in my face. “Your company's bomb did this?” He asked in a subtle tone, his gaze was cold as I fidgeted in shock. “No…yes, I don't know for sure,” I responded, looking away from him. “Joana, it's a simple question. Is your company responsible for the bomb?” He asked, this time fiercer.

I was driving towards his company when I got an incoming phone call. “Sasha,” “On it,” Sasha answered the call and placed it on speaker. “This is Joana, who is this?” “Luna Joana, this is Doctor Tim from your General Hospital on West,” The subtle voice responded. “What can I do for you Doctor Tim?” “If you can, please come down to the hospital.
