Chapter 7: The Fiery Red Beauty

last update Last Updated: 2023-04-05 23:27:44

As promised, Raglan gave her a new body. No longer was Hazel the green-eyed, raven-haired beauty —she was now a blue-eyed beauty with fiery red hair to match her rage and what she sought after –blood.

"The first Alpha on the list happens to be an old friend of yours," Raglan said tauntingly.

"And who is that? " Hazel asked nonchalantly as she was still preoccupied with the recent turn of events.

It wasn't every day, you died and met a demon prince.

"The Alpha of the Wyoming pack," Raglan said with a smile.

It was as if a bulb lit up in Hazel's eyes. The moon goddess was definitely in her favor.

"Turns out I might as well enjoy this," Hazel said happily.

"I hope you will," Raglan said.

Lastly, he handed her a sheath made out of the finest leather.

Hazel reached into the sheath and pulled out a dagger.

"That dagger is pure silver made out of a wolf's bane and angel's breath," Raglan explained.

Hazel observed the beautiful weapon. The blade was lined with inscriptions that were of a language she could not recognize.

"It's the tongue of your forefathers," Raglan answered her unspoken question.

"This is what you will be used to kill the seven Alphas. You will need this because you no longer are a wolf and this is the only weapon capable of killing a werewolf, especially one as powerful as the clan of royal werewolves. Your wolf is dead and can only be connected to your true self..."

"...since you're in a different body, it will not be possible to get your wolf back. Right now, you are a mere human," Raglan said.

She felt entirely different now that she was a human. No wonder humans always felt so afraid, she thought. That was exactly how she was feeling now that her wolf was no longer within her.

She felt a huge sense of emptiness and—

"It would be in your best interest if you started right now," Raglan's musical-like voice interrupted her thoughts.

"The earlier you finish this task, the quicker you get to go back to your old life," he said and in what seemed like an afterthought but was a calculated move on his part, Raglan added, "and get back your man before his cock is forever buried in your sister."

Raglan did not give a shit about Hazel's revenge plans. All he cared about was watching the crystal necklace fill up with the blood of the seven Alphas.

Raglan's words were the exact dose of motivation Hazel needed and with a determined look on her face, she said to Raglan, "I am ready."

"Good," he said before making a motion with his fingers which opened up a portal.

Hazel took a deep breath and walked into the portal.

In the twinkle of an eye, she found herself in a forest bordering an exquisite palace.

A feeling of dread ran through her bones as she gazed at the place of her torment.

Deep inside this palace, was a room that held echoes of her screams and tears.

As she remembered the pain she had been dealt by Kael, the Alpha of the Wyoming clan, her rage increased and she was pretty sure she felt the coppery taste of blood on her tongue.

She was thirsty for blood –for Kael's blood and the thirst drove her straight to the door, determined and devoid of fear.

There seemed to be a party going on inside the palace as she heard a lot of noise and music oozing from the palace.

She walked majestically to the palace, her new body making her feel invincible.

She had already hatched a plan in her mind and the only thought nested in her was how it would feel to hear the ligaments and flesh on Kael's chest tear as she drove the dagger into his heart slowly as she watched him cry out like a baby.

"Who are you and state your business?" A voice called out from behind her interrupting her vengeful reverie.

Hazel turned to answer when her eyes caught the silver shimmer of a blade that was positioned close to her throat.

"I am Edith and I have a business to do in the palace," Hazel answered in a voice that was rich and seductive.

"And what business is that?" The guard asked Hazel aggressively.

"I am a courtesan and I am to perform at the palace today," Hazel said confidently. It was as if her new body came with a dose of confidence and she loved it.

The guard observed the lady standing before him. An unusually beautiful woman with fiery red hair and the body of a jezebel.

He wished he could have her to himself but it seemed he would have to wait for the Alpha to be done with her.

"You are late," The guard said.

Hazel did not have a reply for him and it seemed he did not need one as he did not comment further.

He took a sniff at her and realized that she was a human.

He knew his Alpha was a man who loved and adored women. It was heard that he had orgies with a hundred women at once and he would satisfy each and every one of them.

He also knew that Kael had a knack for women who were different from them –especially humans. It could be that he had summoned this woman to fill the void left by his newfound sex toy who had found a way to escape last night.

"Alright," The guard said as he lowered his sword, "You may go in."

Hazel slowly released the air she had been holding in her lungs. For a split second, she had thought the guard wouldn't fall for her games.

The guard walked away while she made her way into the palace as she silently offered prayers to the moon goddess.

She had been lucky to come and meet a party going on thereby making her passage into the palace much easier.

As she walked forward, Hazel became aware of more guards hanging around.

When she had escaped yesterday, there had been no guards. This was why she had been less careful when she had walked into the palace.

Her escape must have made the bastard decide to beef up the security now making her plan much harder than she had earlier suspected.

The doors to the palace were thrown open for her.

She walked majestically into the palace with a gait fit for a model.

Everybody seemed to have their eyes on her. Everyone except Kael who was seated on his throne flanked by two beautiful women who were stark naked and dancing around him.

With every step she took into the palace, she was hit with a wave of nostalgia on how days ago she was dragged on this same floor by the same beast who sat watching her as she wailed her life out.

She paid no attention to the jeers and catcalls she was getting from the men and women as she made her way to the front with her eyes focused on her price.

Her blood ran hot and she wished she could just run over and get it over with.

She took notice of her surroundings and realized that there were guards scattered about the room.

There was no way she would be able to do what she had to do in such a crowded place with a bunch of wolves and guards.

The bastard had finally grown a brain, she thought in disgust.

Halfway to the throne, she was stopped by a bunch of women dancing. She knew she had no way to get close to Kael and so she made a quick decision,

She had to make Kael take notice of her.

She walked to where the musicians were seated and she had a word with them then she went back to the group of women writhing their bodies trying to make their living.

When the current song ended, the musicians began to play a tune she was so familiar with.

It was a song her mum used to sing to Maeve and her. She had been happy when the musicians said they knew the song when she had asked them to play it for her.

Hazel started to sing to the tune. The intro was a slow mesmerizing rendition that left everyone captured –including Kael.

When the next stanza started and she started to whine her waist to the upbeat tempo, chaos followed.

Everyone cheered her on as they watched her dance.

Everyone had cleared up space giving her enough room —and Kael enough visibility to her.

As she danced, she made sure she cast a steady, seductive gaze at Kael.

Her eyes were fixed on him as she belly danced to the rhythm of the song and the rich tone of her voice as she seductively touched parts of her body.

When she was done, she gave a bow as everyone applauded her.

Her eyes were still on Kael when he beckoned on her to come forward with a motion of his finger.

She took a deep breath and moved forward.

"No!" Hazel's screams resonated through the walls of the midwives' workshop. Against their will, the midwives had lain Hazel on the worktable and had tied her limbs down to the table. One of the midwives took a cloth and started to stuff it into Hazel's mouth to muffle her screams. "Leave her mouth free. I want to listen to her screams," Raglan's cold voice echoed in the room, stopping the midwife. "Please Raglan! You can take my life but let this child live! He is innocent! Please!" Hazel pleaded with Raglan. "I should let the bastard child live?" Raglan chuckled. "I am putting an end to the lives of all the bastards in that family. Including the whore that dared bear him a child," Raglan said with such contempt his face contorted with disgust. Tears spilled down Hazel's face. She couldn't breathe. She knew this was likely going to be her end, but she had hoped she could escape. But she refused to give up on her son. Hazel continued to beg, offering her life in exchange for

Hazel spent the next twenty minutes thinking and rethinking her plan. 'What if it fails?' she asked herself. She knew that was a useless question to ask herself. She had to take the risk for the child's sake and his father's. With that in mind, Hazel got up and marched to the bed where Raglan lay lost to the world. He looked much more beautiful in sleep and he looked much less like the evil bastard that he was. Hazel looked at the left side of his chest. She knew he had no heart but she wished he had one so that she would have the satisfaction of impaling his heart just as how he had made her do so to all those Alpha's just for his selfish reason. Raglan was lucky she did not know how to send him to hell, she would have done it there and then. Rather, she got on the bed and started to try and take off his black tunic. It was no

Raglan looked really handsome even though he was dressed in intimidating attire. He had swapped his usual cloak for a tunic, black as night. Underneath the tunic, he wore what looked like chain mail armor, and in his left hand was a scepter that was shaped like a scythe, one very similar to the grim reaper's.There was something in Raglan's eyes as she looked at him. It was a look she had seen before but not on Raglan and it was weird that he had that look in his eyes as he looked at her.Her heart made a little flutter and she had to caution herself to keep her cheeks from reddening.
