Hazel was convinced she had made the wrong decision as the two men just stared at her in shock without saying anything.

She should have thought about it more before barging up on them. What if they reported her now?

What would she do?

Her heart raced as she contemplated her next move. Should she keep going or should she just walk out of there?

Hazel watched as The men's facial expressions moved from shock to fear and then to confusion.

The whole palace was alive with various noises as people moved about and worked but at that moment, a deafening silence filled Hazel's ears.

'Moon goddess help me!' Hazel prayed in her heart.

"Who the fuck are you?" Finally Winston the chef asked in an aggressive voice.

His question threw her off guard with its harshness.

"Im–I'm," Hazel started to answer in a weak, shaky voice but then she stopped.

She cleared her throat, stood straighter, and in a steady, confident voice, she said, "I am Edith."

She knew she could not show these men fear. She had to b

Winston was not sure what was going on but one thing he knew was that he was not going to pass on an opportunity to have his pound of flesh.Despite Lance's objections, he was going to take this leap of faith. If it ended up backfiring, at least he would die knowing he made an effort in avenging his little girl.He took a deep breath before saying, "What is your plan?"Hazel looked down at the activities going on below as she said, "We are going to take advantage of that."Winston reacted to her words with neither speech nor action as he listened to her. He followed her eye level and nodded at the people below them."There would be a ton of people which will thereby increase the number of possible suspects which will in turn cover our asses," Hazel said.It was too good to be true. She could not believe that she was finally doing this. Her plans were finally set into motion. Her heart raced, but this time, it was not out of fear but rather out of excitement.Winston nodded to her word

"The plan is to spice the food up with poison but we are forgetting one more thing," Winston said as he lit a cigarette, "the guards are not going to be eating the food so they will not be affected."That part had totally skipped Hazel's mind. She was watching as two men tried to set up a booth. The three of them had finally sat down with Winston seated in between Hazel and Lance.Hazel did not reply to Winston as her mind wandered too far off. There had to be a way to handle the guards, that she knew. She also knew that they would have to use poison to get at them. What she did not know was how they were going to get the poison to them."And we still have not decided on what type of poison I would use to lace the food," Winston added after he took a drag of his cigarette.Hazel leaned across Winston –a task which was quite impossible to achieve with his last frame, and looked at Lance. He had been the one who had come up with the last two suggestions and she was hoping he would have

She was soon going to be really busy and she had decided to go catch some rest. The decorators had done a good job and the noise that had polluted the place turned out to be worth it.The place looked like a mini wonderland complete with Ferris wheels and kissing booths although right now, it looked lonely, she could imagine how beautiful it would look when people were all over the place trying to fight for a ride. She took her time to admire the place wishing she had not had work to do so she could enjoy the fun.She would have ridden the Ferris wheel till she was heady and puking all over the place and would have run back to join the queue after every turn so that she could have some more. The smell of fresh, blooming flowers welcomed her as she stepped into the garden. The little flowers which had been there the last time she came had fully bloomed and she had never seen anything much more beautiful. The garden was an allur

"Where the fuck have you guys been?" They were greeted by a very agitated Winston saying those words as they walked through one last door."I have been waiting here forever!" He said in an agitated whisper. It looked so funny to see his huge frame in such a state —his little head seemed to be bobbing up and down on his huge neck and Hazel almost let out a giggle at the sight."What took you guys so long?! I was starting to think we have been made out!" He continued without allowing them to reply."I'm really sorry. It's all my fault. I was caught up in some things that's all," Hazel repeated the same lie she told Lance to Winston.Rather than say something, Winston totally ignored her statement and rather said, "The party has almost begun! We need to get ready," Then he turned his back and started walking.Lance and Hazel followed him quietly. They were already inside the palace. Hazel could tell from the beautiful architecture and decorations she was seeing around. And when she start

When someone wanted something, he would summon one of the girls and tell her his choice. She in turn would walk to where the food carts were positioned and collect the food from the other naked girls manning that place and then take it back to the man.At first, very few men requested food. "No!" Hazel's screams resonated through the walls of the midwives' workshop. Against their will, the midwives had lain Hazel on the worktable and had tied her limbs down to the table. One of the midwives took a cloth and started to stuff it into Hazel's mouth to muffle her screams. "Leave her mouth free. I want to listen to her screams," Raglan's cold voice echoed in the room, stopping the midwife. "Please Raglan! You can take my life but let this child live! He is innocent! Please!" Hazel pleaded with Raglan. "I should let the bastard child live?" Raglan chuckled. "I am putting an end to the lives of all the bastards in that family. Including the whore that dared bear him a child," Raglan said with such contempt his face contorted with disgust. Tears spilled down Hazel's face. She couldn't breathe. She knew this was likely going to be her end, but she had hoped she could escape. But she refused to give up on her son. Hazel continued to beg, offering her life in exchange for

"What?!" Hazel squeaked, her face confused as to what she had just heard.Raglan held her by the shoulders his face lit up with a joy that she never believed could exist in the realm of darkness. He shook her as if to wake her from something."Hazel! We are in love! We now have a child on the way! All that's left is for us to get married!" Raglan said trying to connect some imaginary dots.Hazel knew she could not do this. She had endured the past weeks pretending to like him. Getting married to Raglan was going to the extreme and she was not sure she could survive it.With the same speed with which his face had lit up, the joy on his face dimmed out and a sadness replaced the light."You don't want me?" Raglan asked his voice pricking Hazel with the amount of pain that was in it.Hazel sighed. She knew this was not going to be easy. For her to secure what was hers, it was required of her to make certain sacrifices and this was one of them. With a weak smile that did not even touch he

She had envisioned a totally different trajectory for her plan and she was not happy with the way things were going.Raglan made sure she spent half of her day with him. He tried to make her move to his room but Hazel refused.Staying with Raglan meant she would have to have sex with him and that was something she dreaded happening. She however had been forced to be intimate with him. They cuddled in bed together before bedtime, and they kissed quite a lot –although she tried to find ways to avoid kissing him there was only so much she could refuse for her plan to really work. She did everything intend

Hazel spent the next twenty minutes thinking and rethinking her plan. 'What if it fails?' she asked herself. She knew that was a useless question to ask herself. She knew exactly what would happen if her plan failed. But there was no way she was going to back down. She placed her hands on her belly, rubbing it. She had to take the risk for the child's sake and his father's. With that in mind, Hazel got up and marched to the bed where Raglan lay lost to the world. He looked much more beautiful in sleep and he looked much less like the evil bastard that he was. Hazel looked at the left side of his chest. She knew he had no heart but she wished he had one so that she would have the satisfaction of impaling his heart just as how he had made her do so to all those Alpha's just for his selfish reason. Raglan was lucky she did not know how to send him to hell, she would have done it there and then. Rather, she got on the bed and started to try and take off his black tunic. It was no

"When you said the entire realm would be present did you mean it?" Hazel asked Raglan as soon as Persia landed in front of the four walls.Raglan turned and looked at her dropping the reins. He could see fear spread all over her face."No, I didn't mean it literally," Raglan said to her. "Those who will be in attendance at the banquet are only royalty and those who matter. The rest will be celebrating it at other places."Hazel nodded, her anxiety was a tad bit relieved by his explanation."Shall we?" Raglan asked and he held out his free hand.Hazel nodded then took her hands off the chariot where she had been holding tightly for her dear life. Her legs were still wobbly from her experience but she willed herself to stand steady. The ride had been a bumpy one and many times, Hazel's stomach threatened to hurl out the contents of her stomach but she fought to keep it down. She clasped her hands once more in front of her and Raglan took ahold of her elbow guiding her down the chariot.

"You look so beautiful," Raglan said looking at her with eyes that were full of admiration."Thank you," Hazel said with a warm smile."So do you," She added and her comments were more than just mere flattery. Raglan looked really handsome even though he was dressed in intimidating attire. He had swapped his usual cloak for a tunic, black as night. Underneath the tunic, he wore what looked like chain mail armor, and in his left hand was a scepter that was shaped like a scythe, one very similar to the grim reaper's.There was something in Raglan's eyes as she looked at him. It was a look she had seen before but not on Raglan and it was weird that he had that look in his eyes as he looked at her.Her heart made a little flutter and she had to caution herself to keep her cheeks from reddening. She had to stay focused. The life of her child depended on it.Raglan also tried his best not to look into her eyes. That was very strange as he had never for once been timid before her or anyone
