Lucien’s POV

The tension in the room was suffocating. Damon's eyes were fixed on me, expectant yet probing. I could feel his presence like an iron grip around my chest, demanding answers I wasn’t ready to give. His question hung in the air like a guillotine, and the weight of his gaze bore into me.

“When did Olivia get the Mate Tattoo?” he asked again, his voice low, controlled, but edged with an undercurrent of something dangerous.

I shifted uncomfortably in my seat, leaning back with an exaggerated exhale to buy myself time. The sharp sting from the wound Vladimir left on my ribs wasn’t helping my focus. My shirt was soaked with blood, and Damon’s attempt to speed up my recovery process by summoning his Alpha trait had been helpful. But none of that mattered right now.

How was I supposed to explain this without exposing everything?

I glanced at Damon from the corner of my eye. He was standing near the doorway, his posture rigid as he awaited my response. I could tell he already ha

AARON The mirror was a liar.Every night it reflected a man I hardly even recognized anymore. Silver strands streaked through my once jet-black hair, etched lines marred the corners of my eyes, and my mouth—once firm and resolute—was now an exhausted frown. But what struck me most was the hollowness in my gaze. That, no mirror could conceal.Tonight was no different. Seated in front of the wide, ornate mirror in my chamber, I stared at the man who had failed at being a father, failed at being a mate—a husband, and perhaps even failed as an Alpha. My fingers drummed against the armrest of the chair as I thought of her—Olivia. My daughter. My once precious child. My flesh and blood. And yet, when I looked at her, all I could see was Natalie. That same soft auburn hair, that determined chin, and those eyes—eyes that haunted me every waking moment.Four years. For four years, I had treated Olivia like she was a ghost, a cruel reminder of the woman who vanished without a trace, leaving no

DAMON POVThe night air clung to me like a shroud as I stepped out of Lucien’s home. The cool breeze, heavy with the scent of pine and rain-soaked earth, did little to soothe the storm brewing within me. I shoved my hands deep into my coat pockets, my jaw clenched as I fought to keep my composure.I was Damon Fallenstar, the enforcer, the lone wolf who never flinched in the face of danger. I’d built walls around myself so high that even I had forgotten what it felt like to be vulnerable. But tonight, every brick in that wall seemed to crumble under the weight of my own thoughts. The events of the past days looped in my mind like a broken record. Olivia’s scream, the clash of claws against flesh, and the overwhelming sense of helplessness that had taken hold of me as Vladimir overpowered me. He’d taken her—he’d taken her while I was way too busy satisfying my sexual hunger, he’d taken her while I was way too busy fighting my way out of his ambush.I exhaled sharply, my breath visible i

CLAIRE POVThe moon hung low outside, its pale light casting an ethereal glow over the Black Pack estate. I pulled the door to Aaron’s study shut behind me, careful to ensure the latch clicked softly. The servant boy’s whispers about Olivia’s abduction still lingered in the air, and I could feel Aaron’s tension even through the closed door. But my concern was an act, a mask I wore with practiced ease. Inside, I seethed. I descended the staircase with measured grace, ensuring the guards and pack members who lingered about the estate saw nothing but the poised and elegant Luna. My face was a picture of worry, my steps purposeful, as though I was heading off to orchestrate the search for Olivia. Instead, I walked out into the cool night air, the crisp wind biting against my skin. The moment I was alone, my composure shattered. A wicked smile spread across my lips, and I scoffed quietly to myself. Poor little Olivia, I thought, my fingers tracing the edge of my robe. If only they knew.

LUCIEN The door slammed shut behind me with a force that rattled the frame, but it wasn’t enough to drown out the echoes of my own words. The moment I took my first step inside, the walls seemed to close in on me, like a predator circling its prey. My ribs ached with shallow breath, the injury Vladimir inflicted burning like a fire that refused to be extinguished. I pressed my palm against the wound, trying to steady myself, but the pressure only seemed to intensify the pain.Despite that I was glad I finally stood up to him—to Archimedes, my supposed father. Every single thought I’d buried for eighteen years, every ounce of resentment I’d swallowed just to survive in Archimedes’ shadow, it had all come pouring out like a flood I couldn’t stop. And yet, as the silence of the room closed in around me, the weight of my anger didn’t dissipate.I paced back and forth, my ribs protesting with each jarring step. The confrontation replayed in my head, every word laced with venom. I could s

NANA POV:The banging had stopped. I pressed my ear against the heavy oak door, my heart in my throat as I strained to hear even the faintest sound. But all I got was silence—a terrifying, suffocating silence that made my skin crawl.“Lucien!” I shouted again, pounding my fists against the door. “Please, open up! I can help you, I swear!”But I knew better. This wasn’t the first time. I had witnessed his curse consume him like this before. Yet each time, it felt like a blade piercing deeper into my chest. He never let anyone in, even when it meant he’d tear himself apart trying to fight it. I stood there for a moment longer, my forehead pressed against the cold wood, my breaths shaky. “Please…” I whispered, my voice cracking.Nothing.I clenched my fists and stepped back, panic clawing at me. He needed me, and yet he wouldn’t let me near him. I couldn’t stand idly by, knowing what he was going through behind that door. The guttural pain , the darkness clawing at his mind, the violen

BEN’S POVThe air in the room was suffocating, a mix of tension, sweat, and the faint metallic tang of blood. Lucien was stable now—or at least as stable as a man battling the darkness within could be. Nana hovered over him like a sentinel, her trembling hands betraying the calmness she tried to portray. I stood by the door, my back pressed against the cool wood, my mind spinning with too many thoughts.Lucien. Olivia. Everything. I couldn’t help but let my eyes drift back to Lucien, lying unconscious on the bed. His face was pale, almost translucent, and his breaths came in shallow, ragged intervals. The man I had come to admire looked nothing like the unshakable figure I had always seen. The curse was eating him alive, and tonight it had almost won.But my thoughts weren’t on Lucien for long. They never were these days. They were with Olivia.“Ben,” Nana’s voice was soft but firm, pulling me out of my thoughts. She was kneeling beside Lucien, dabbing at his sweat-soaked brow with a

AARON’S POV: I was seated in my study when the soft knock came at the door. My lieutenant, Caleb, stepped in with a look that was equal parts relief and hesitation.“Alpha Aaron,” he said, bowing slightly. “We’ve found her.”For a moment, I forgot how to breathe. “Olivia?” “Yes, Alpha,” Caleb confirmed. “She’s safe. She’s at Alpha Lucien’s estate.”My chest rose and fell heavily as a weight I hadn’t realized I’d been carrying lifted off me. Olivia was safe. My daughter was alive. My lips parted to ask more, but the words stuck in my throat. Relief warred with something darker. She was at Lucien’s house. The mate she hadn’t chosen.“Did she… say anything?” I asked cautiously, though I wasn’t sure I was prepared for the answer.Caleb shook his head. “We haven’t spoken to her directly, Alpha. The information came through a scout stationed near Alpha Lucien’s territory. He reported seeing her unconscious but being cared for.”Unconscious. My relief faltered. “And Lucien?”“He’s… stable,

EMMA’S POVIt wasn’t hard to hear the whispers. Servants always talked, their voices carrying through the stone halls like wind through cracks in a door. And lately, those whispers were all about Lady Claire.I was walking past the main hall when I caught the tail end of a conversation earlier tonight.“She’s been sneaking out again,” one of the younger maids whispered to the butler. “And to think, it’s Vladimir. Of all people.”I slowed my pace, my ears pricking.“It’s not just rumours anymore,” the butler replied in a hushed tone. “One of the night patrols saw her. If the Alpha finds out—”The sound of a door slamming shut cut off the conversation, and I hurried on, pretending I hadn’t overhead. But the words stayed with me, a slow-burning fire of tension in my chest. Now, as I stood near the corner of the hallway leading to Alpha Aaron’s quarters, I felt that fire spread. He stepped out of his room abruptly, his expression hard and unreadable. His fists were clenched, and the way h

LUCIEN’S POV The water was still, the air thick with the scent of chlorine. I leaned against the edge of the pool, my head tilted back, eyes closed, letting the silence wrap around me.It had been this way since dawn.I had woken up feeling… heavy. The weight of three days ago, of him pressing against my chest like a stone. My younger brother.I had seen him.For years, I had buried that part of my life, convinced myself that whatever had been left of my human past had long withered away. But that image of three days ago in the woods had proven that fate had once again ripped open my broken heart again like an unhealed wound. Did my parents ever see me in his eyes? Did they ever look at him and wonder if I was still out there, alive, breathing? Or had they given up? Had they accepted that I was lost to them forever?A bitter exhale left my lips, my fingers gripping the pool’s edge. I had wanted to go back, to find them, to let them know I was alive. But for years. I couldn’t.Fir

OLIVIA’S POVThe morning sun streamed through the windows, casting golden light across the bedroom. I sat on the edge of the bed, staring blankly at my packed bag, my mind a whirlwind of emotions.I had to leave. Not for good though. The weekend was over. My time in Damon’s house had come to an end.And yet, my body still burned with the memory of last night.I cursed under my breath, rubbing my hands over my face. But I can’t resist you. I need you, Damon. I had said that. Out loud. To him.I had lost control, let myself slip, let myself be vulnerable. And for what? A moment of weakness? A moment of undeniable, addicting desire? Goddess, I was so stupid. So stupid that I left his room last night in shame. How did hell did I get so addicted to him that I became so shameless? My hands curled into fists on my lap.I had betrayed Lucien—again. Not just physically, but emotionally. It wasn’t just about sex at this point. DAMON’S POV The world was drenched in blood. I stood frozen, my breath coming in ragged gasps as I stared at the body before me. Olivia. Her lifeless eyes stared at the sky, her throat slashed open, her body limp on the cold, stone ground. Blood pooled around her, dark and endless, the scent of it thick in the air.My hands trembled. My knees buckled.“No… no, no, no—” A slow, mocking chuckle echoed around me. I forced myself to look up. Alaric stood there, his hands stained red, his golden eyes glinting with satisfaction. He smirked as he tilted his head, admiring his work. “Isn’t this what you deserve, big brother?” His voice was smooth, almost amused. He stepped over Olivia’s body like she was nothing but discarded trash. I couldn’t move. My legs felt like lead, my lungs burning with the effort to breathe. “You took everything from me,” Alaric continued, circling me like a predator playing with its prey. “Did you really think you’d get to keep something for yourself?” H

  • The Luna's Tattoos   Chapter 74: The Nightmare Arose

OLIVIA’S POVThe ride home from Blackbeard Pack was painfully silent. Damon drove, his hands firm on the steering wheel, his jaw clenched as if lost in thought. I sat beside him, staring out the window, letting the passing trees blur together. My mind was still stuck on everything that had happened back there—the tension, the revelations, the way Lucien had barely even looked at me before storming off. I hated that look in his eyes.Disappointment. Anger. Possession. He hadn’t even given me the chance to explain, but then again, what was there to explain? He knew what happened. He saw the mark, the change in my tattoo. There was no justifying what had already been done. And worst of all, I couldn’t even bring myself to regret it. That was the worst part—the part that made me feel like the lowest kind of person. I wasn’t supposed to crave Damon. I wasn’t supposed to have wanted him the way I did. But last night, every rational thought had melted away the moment he touched me.N

LUCIEN’S POVThe drive home was a blur. My hands gripped the steering wheel so tightly that my knuckles turned white, and my jaw was clenched hard enough to crack my teeth. The streetlights flickered past, but I barely noticed them. All I could see—all I could think about—was Olivia. And him. Damon.I exhaled sharply, forcing my breathing to stay even. It didn’t work. The rage coiled inside me like a living thing, twisting and tightening in my chest, threatening to suffocate me.She had been mine. She was mine. For three years, she had been my wife. Three years of shared nights, of whispered secrets, of tangled sheets, soft gasps in the dark and loud moans in the kitchen. And now, after just four months apart, another man had touched her. Another man had claimed her. I shook my head, trying to push the thought away. It didn’t matter. It shouldn’t matter. But Zephyr, my lycan, had other ideas. “You’re a fool if you think you can forget.” I gritted my teeth. I don’t want to talk

DAMON’S POVThe evening air was thick with tension, the weight of everything that had transpired pressing down on me like a boulder. I could still hear Olivia’s soft cries in the distance, muffled but persistent, curling through the air like a ghost refusing to leave. But I didn’t turn around. Not yet. I made my way toward Daiki, his expression neutral, but I could tell by the way his arms were crossed and the way his jaw tightened that he had questions. And I knew exactly what they were. The moment I stepped beside him, he wasted no time.“How did you know?” he asked, his voice low but firm.I let out a slow breath, glancing around to ensure no one was too close before answering. “Because I know Alaric.”Daiki narrowed his eyes. “And that means?” I turned my gaze to him, watching the way his brows furrowed, the way his stance shifted slightly—he was skeptical, and I didn’t blame him. “Alaric doesn’t like his operations to be messy,” I said, tucking my hands into my pockets. “He d

OLIVIA’S POVLucien was leaving. He was really leaving me behind to be here with Damon. My breath hitched as I watched him walk away, his broad shoulders tense, his strides full of purpose—full of pain. I could feel it, radiating off him like a storm waiting to break. My heart pounded in my chest, my legs trembling as I took a step forward, instinctively reaching out for him. I had to stop him.I had to explain to him that whatever he thinks happened between Damon and me last night was caused by loneliness. I surged forward, but before I could take another step, a strong hand wrapped around my arm, yanking me back with force.“Let me go!” I hissed, twisting against the grip, my voice filled with desperation.Damon. He held me effortlessly, his fingers firm yet unbothered, as if my struggle meant nothing to him. Anything to distract me from the fury clawing its way through my chest.I gripped the stone railing of the balcony, my knuckles whitening as I stared out into the vast stretch of land beyond Blackbeard Pack. The sky was dull, heavy with thick clouds that threatened a storm. Fitting. Because inside me, a storm was already raging. Zephyr, my Lycan, was restless.
