“Please, for the love of the goddess, take some rest,” the doctor said when he finished repairing the damage to my stitches caused by my escape attempt. “I understand this is hard for you, but you’re in a delicate state and if you keep doing these kinds of things, you will cause permanent damage to yourself.”

I crossed my arms and looked away from him. Despite being a rogue, he was right. Without my wolf, not only could I not heal as fast as other werewolves, wounds might have long-lasting effects. So, yeah, the rogue was right - I needed to be careful, but it still pissed me off all the same.

The doctor sighed. He said, sounding equally disappointed and exasperated, “I suspect I’m going to be back.” He got up and walked over to the door, knocking on it for someone to let him out.

As he left, another person came in. She stood a little shorter than me, but looked to be around my age. She had a sweet, round face with long wavy blonde hair and a friendly smile, but her blue eyes
