[That man's POV]

"Hey Gran! What are you doing there? You will get tired standing by the window like this."

Emily asked as she came home, and her grandmother was standing by the window. She put her arms around her grandmother's neck and kissed her forehead.

Anastasia Jackson was Emily Jackson's grandmother and her only blood relation in this world. She was 70 years old but she looked 30 years old, very young and beautiful just like Emily.

She took a look at her tired face and slapped her lovingly.

"Gran, I just arrived and you already started hitting me," she said, putting her hand on her back and making her sit on the couch. "How many times have I asked you to sleep whenever I come late? Just don't stand by the window like that. Now you are 70 years old, not that 17 anymore."

"And how many times have I told you not to come home so late in the middle of the night like this. As time passes my heart beats very fast. I always get panic attacks because of you," Ms. Anastasia said, angrily

[That man's POV]In the late hours of the night, the half moon shone in the sky with full pride, reflecting off the dark waves in its light and casting a golden hue over everything that it touched. After the fight between the Alpha's Gravefur Pack and the Vanara Pack, it looked as if the world had been reborn after a bang. The howls of the wolves and the screeches of the Vanara Pack echoed through the air.The entire Nagosia Forest is filled with profound silence and peace at this time. The only sound is the rustling of the fallen leaves from the trees, on which the Alpha Altan is dragging his existence. He walks two steps and then stumbles and falls. He pants in pain, searching for something in the dim moonlight: the bottle of the virus sample that leads his fight with Alpha Lowell. He knew that the bottle had been dropped from his hands during the fight, and as far as he could remember, Alpha Lowell was not conscious enough to pick it up and leave. Suddenly, he fell after tripping o

[That man's POV]Coven House was dark and cold inside, with only red lights burning everywhere as if fires were lit in the middle of every room. The air was thick, hot, and stank of blood, clinging to everything like a mist. It wasn't something that could be wiped away by water – the scent remained even though someone bathed after. It was so strong one could almost taste it when they breathed. This coven was the stronghold of the Dark Shadow Coven, which, like the Gravefur Pack, was based on the East Coast. The Dark Shadow Coven has several ranks within specific positions, among Moroi vampires, that they earn through respect and deeds within vampire society. The Ace vampire is the Alpha of the vampire society, the Pawn vampire keeps the coven clean and tidy, the Knight vampire is the assassin of the coven because they usually turn to dust, the Rook vampire is the leading warrior of the coven, and the Bishop vampire is the healer of the coven as their blood increase healing in other va

[That man's POV]"Did you find the bottle of virus sample?" Howl Wolf Thor asked Triple Changer Oz in a low voice. He was a middle-aged man with short silver hair and black eyes that gave off the air of wisdom. His ears were pierced, and his beard had a grayish tint to it, but other than that, he was the picture of calmness. They are the werewolves of Vanara Pack, including the Theta Wolf Azeil Liam, Beta Geri Jaxon, assassin werewolf Triple Changer Oz Theodore, who was a spy and trainer of the scout wolves. The name Triple Changer was given to him because he could transform himself into three forms depending on the environment: human form, werecat, and werewolf. [That man's POV]The room was decorated with various pictures of nature sceneries from all over the world and an assortment of knickknacks and other trinkets from around the globe. It was all rather cozy for a stranger who had spent three days in total sleeping under a tree. The cool rays of the sun were coming in through the window of the room, which was disturbing Esen's sleep. The curtains were open and allowed the rays to fall across the floor, making it look like a carpet with sunlight reflecting off the marble floors. The sound of distant birds and the smell of grass make it obvious it's morning now. The air is clean and fresh, the sounds and smells are familiar yet unfamiliar, like everything she doesn't know about the world beyond her beautiful city, the country, the world.Even after sleeping for eight hours straight, she feels tired all over her body as if every ounce of her energy had been used up. She scratched her body with her closed eyes, hit her hand on the side table,

[That man's POV]"Where are you going now?" Emily asked her Gran as she watched her go out in the evening. She had gotten tired and came from the police station a while ago, and was sitting on the sofa eating peanuts. Her hair was blonde like the sky at sunset when you're out in the fields, and she was wearing dark jeans and a light green turtleneck that matched her eyes. Seeing her grandmother suddenly getting ready to go somewhere, she asked. Her eyes weren't focusing on the TV, and she ate peanut shells with one hand."It's just very important work that I have to finish, which I'm going to get done," Ms. Anastasia said, quickly putting on her sweater and urging her to close the door before leaving."Well, I will keep it closed, but where are you going?" She repeated her question and almost walked behind her."Saintmau," Ms. Anastasia replied."Shall I go with you?" she suddenly asked Ms. Anastasia."No, there is no need. • The Luna's Promise   Past life [11]

[That man's POV]She was looking at the window while holding her breath and without blinking. It was not a human but a shadow of a wolf. A werewolf. The moon was bright enough to show the outline, and she could see all its fangs. It was standing up on its hind legs to get closer to the glass. And its eyes... its eyes were red and bloodshot, but they glinted in the light, like stars. No, like blood, like red blood pumping through a vein as fast as it can. Blood doesn't glow in the dark or reflect the light when it hits water, so the wolf was probably lying about being a werewolf and not just drunk from the nearest stream. Her heart was beating so loudly she wondered if she could hear it through the wall.Due to fear and dread, her condition started to deteriorate. The drops of sweat on her forehead started shining like white pearls. She had been holding her breath for some time now. Her lungs burned from holding back too much air, and it was getting difficult to inhale deeply. She was

Maybe she didn't want to tell anyone what was happening to her, but she still wanted to get checked by the doctor for her comfort. Finally, what she had feared happened; she didn't have a common cold."Why are you following me?" Esen asked angrily, to Altan who, in his worry and tension, had followed her from the police station to the hospital and now home."Because you need me, and these doctors can't treat you," Altan replied."I don't need you, Altan. Get the hell out of here!" She got angry and slammed the door shut on his face."All right, I'm sitting here outside the door. If you need anything, just tell me. [Author's POV]She stood up, holding her injured arm, and slowly limped along the path which leads upwards. The walls were covered with small scratches and scrapes as she climbed the steep path up to the opening of the hole. She looked up at the top of the rocks towering over her. They were dark grey, and looked smooth like marble. They sparkled under the light, like the scales of some strange beast she’d seen once in a book. But unlike any beast she’d ever seen or even read about, there was nothing alive behind these cliffs. There is nothing to be afraid of.She looked down and saw that the trail leading up to the hole was covered in sand and stones. It led straight up to the top, but there was nowhere near enough room for a large animal like the Stalagtor to go through. The tunnel curved sharply to the right before turning around the corner. The tunnel was much smaller than the one she was used to climbing, but somehow she was sure that she knew exactly what she was heading towar

[Elara's POV]I continued coughing violently until my throat hurt, and I couldn’t even feel my legs anymore. Tears blurred my vision as I stumbled blindly along the cold tunnel. When I reached the end of the passageway, I collapsed onto the ground, still coughing uncontrollably. After a few moments, my breathing began to slow, and I rested my head against the cold floor. Stalagtor was nowhere to be seen. I lay there for a few more minutes before finally deciding that moving wasn’t an option. Even if I could stand on my own two feet now, I knew I wouldn’t make it to any place safe. I had run out of energy hours ago, when all my body wanted to do was collapse in relief. The only thing keeping me going right now was the faint hope of survival.I stood up and walked towards the edge, where I saw a huge sculpture of my face cemented in the water, stuck in place like a dead fish. Frowning, I knelt down and tried to touch the water slowly, but it kept slipping through my fingers. The water s

  • The Luna's Promise   Back to reality

[Elara's POV][Lost her memory of past few days]I backed away as the creature launched its attack. Clutching the sword from the temple, I struck at it, but the blade passed through its misty fog as if it were nothing. I knew it wasn’t my mother. The Echo Wraith always appeared as a familiar face—a loved one, a long-lost friend, or a figure from the victim’s past—only to grotesquely distort and morph into a disturbing mask of anguish or malevolence. The expressions on its face are exaggerated and twisted, reflecting the lies and deceit it preys upon. One moment it might seem sorrowful, and the next, it could sneer with malevolence. Its misty form occasionally shimmers with an eerie glow that highlights its undulating contours and shifting visage, creating an unsettling contrast with the surroundings. The Echo Wraith’s movements are eerily silent and fluid, and its presence brings a numbing cold that enhances the sense of an entity from beyond, making its touch feel like the icy grip o

[That man's POV]It took a long time for the Gravefur Pack to reach Markkhstan Dari, as the town was quite far from the forest, and the entire pack had to be carried along. The townspeople were still shocked over what had happened, but they managed to keep their shock hidden. Because this was the second time a werewolf had stepped into that place, no one wanted to see this happen again. As soon as they reached Markkhstan Dari, they spread all around. The sun has just set, and the light of dawn is beginning to illuminate the land from a distance. But today, it doesn't feel peaceful as usual; no one knows what news this day's sun is bringing. No one knows for whom this sun will be the cause of victory and for whom it will be the cause of defeat.A group of people gathered under the cover of trees in front of Dark Shadow Coven. It was Strigoi who had come to get their revenge. They had already waited a long time. One by one, they took out their weapons; some were armed with swords and knives, while others were holding sharpened stakes. Their expressionless faces showed no sign of emotion or mercy. Some were dressed in the dark robes of the vampires. Most of them carried a bow, a quiver full of arrows, and a dagger for each hand and they all stood ready to do battle. They were prepared and ready for the war.The St
