Seraphine’s Point of View

“I still don’t understand why you just bought a dreamcatcher of all things,” I said, pointing at the dreamcatcher with a red and brown combination. “Is it because you think I don’t afford the ones you actually like?”

Cassius shot me an incredulous look. “Just because I did not choose something expensive doesn’t mean that’s what I thought of you. Can’t I just want a dreamcatcher? I already told you about my dreams. There’s no harm in trying to have one.”

“But you said it was not a bad dream,” I said, my heart twisting painfully at the reminder of what Cassius always dreamt of— the glimpses of his first life, which he believed was some sort of foreshadowing regarding his mate.

I wanted to laugh at the irony, but the emotion it made me feel had stopped me from doing so.

“It’s not,” Cassius softly said. “But I really wanted to have a long, peaceful sleep for once. I usually wake up in the middle of the dreams for some unknown reason, and I couldn’t sleep again no

Seraphine's Point of ViewI frowned as I continued staring at Maximus' retreating figure. He was acting weird from the moment he arrived late in our first class, at lunch time, and even until now that classes ended. The five of us always walked home together, even if we arrived at school separately the moment we realised Leilani takes so long to prepare in the morning, and that Luster waited for all of us for two hours.Maximus arrived earlier, smiling wanly at me though I’m pretty sure he tried to make it appear like how he usually does it. Unfortunately for Maximus, I know him quite well already to see when his expression shifts.Though I couldn’t discern what expression it was. Still, it enabled me to know when something is wrong with him.The only problem is, it was not easy to catch him and ask about it. He always either excuses himself immediately, saying a bunch of things I didn’t believe one bit, or he smoothly diverts the topic away whenever he notices I was about to ask him.

Seraphine’s Point of View“Cassius,” I nervously muttered, clutching his arms tightly. “Calm down, please.”“How the fuck can I calm down after hearing that, Seraphine? I have a brother! A step-brother!” Cassius hissed furiously.I tightened my hold on his arms. “Lower down your voice! You’ll get us both in trouble if you won’t calm down!”“Trouble? That’s what you’re thinking of right now?” Cassius seethed, his eyes aflame and tone sharp.I shake my head. “No, it’s not like that. But there’s a lot of people inside and if you march there and yell at your parents, you’ll get in trouble with your parents!”“Who cares about that!” He snapped, prying my hands away from his arms as he stood and started marching inside the meeting room. My eyes went wide.“Cassius!” I whisper-shouted, reaching out for his wrist to stop him from barging inside even though I’m pretty sure they already heard him. He’s stronger than me though, so instead of stopping him, he managed to drag me inside.I almost

Cassius’ Point of View“Sit down, Cassius,” my mother ordered imperiously which leaves me with no objections.I sat on the single couch in the drawing room, looking down on my lap while fidgeting with my fingers. I didn’t dare to meet their gaze, belatedly realising how rude and disrespectful I was to my father in the meeting room, in front of the other Council and Circle members.I couldn’t bring myself to apologise even if I feel bad for saying those insensitive words I blurted out of my anger. I’m still feeling upset over what I heard. It was so sudden— it came out of nowhere. And how come I didn’t notice we had a guest residing in our home? She even passed away here and got cremated! Even if she wished for it to be a secret, still, this is my home. It’s so stupid of me not to notice.“Cassius Silverton,” mom called out.I remained looking at my lap.I heard a deep sigh. Then much softer, she repeated. “Cassius, son, look at us.”Reluctantly, I raised my head. They were looking at

  • The Luna from the Future   Chapter 31

Seraphine’s Point of ViewI watched in deep amusement how Cassius hesitated in front of our house, his hand hovering mid-air before deciding against it. From the small balcony of my room, I had the perfect view of watching him, unnoticed. His usually imperious, aristocratic features were betrayed by the tension in his muscles— he’s far more tense and nervous now than his first visit. I could practically hear the thoughts racing inside his mind right now as he stood in front of our door. He’s probably fearing the judgement of my parents for what happened. The sight of him being nervous was never not entertaining. He was always smug and confident, so it was rewarding to see him fidgeting like this. His fear of my parents’ reaction is useless though, because they didn’t blame him. I already explained everything to them and they didn’t blame it all on Cassius because just like what I was saying, I wasn’t faultless. They weren’t mad at him either. In fact, they’re mad at me for not being

Seraphine’s Point of View“I will knock you out the next time you decide to do something stupid,” I hissed, glaring at Cassius who slumped on the ground with a loud groan. “So now it’s my fault?” he retorted, rolling his eyes. “Of course, it’s yours. I didn’t say it wasn’t,” I replied, slumping down beside him. I rested my back on the now clean wall and shut my eyes. Cassius didn’t deign a reply. I opened my eyes and took a quick glance at him, only to meet his blue eyes already staring at me. We quickly averted our gaze, my face blushing profusely.“Are you and Wilder still not speaking to each other?” Cassius asked after a long silence between us.I scoffed at the reminder of my current situation with Maximus. “To hell with him. I won’t chase him around if he doesn’t want to talk to me.”“Do you know why he suddenly stopped talking to you?” I shake my head. “No. We were fine last friday. He just suddenly stopped talking to me when monday came. We didn’t see each other during wee

Seraphine’s Point of View“My parents liked it,” Cassius said as we entered the Homestead. “The caramel fudge, I mean.”“Really?” I asked, genuinely surprised. Because if I remember correctly, the Alpha and Luna don’t really like sweets. “Yeah. They’re not a fan of sweets, but one of the few they actually like is chocolate fudge. Daniel’s caramel fudge topped it though.”I beamed. “Yes! That’s my father.” I proudly stated, earning a soft grin from Cassius. He pushed the door of his brother’s room open. Thankfully, no dust fell on us this time. “The furniture will arrive in a few minutes. We should clean the room one last time before we decorate it,” I said. His eyebrows rose in confusion. “But we already cleaned it yesterday! I thought we’ll just decorate it today?”I rolled my eyes, already feeling exasperated. “The room accumulated nearly half a day’s worth of dust already. Look at that corner— there’s another spider web!”Cassius glanced at where I pointed and he groaned, grumbli

Seraphine’s Point of View“Save me the trouble and shoo your fangirls away, will you? I can’t concentrate on reading because I keep on hearing their giggles,” I snapped at Cassius, who automatically returned my glare with his own.“They are not my fangirls,” he hissed, then he turned around and whisper-yelled: “If you have nothing better to do, can you leave? We can’t focus on our work because of your noise.”The girls flushed in an ugly shade of red, gathering their things as fast as they could and bolted out of the library. The Librarian, Miss Eriah, yelled at them, her face contorted into one of annoyance and displeasure.I sighed. Finally.“Is this our final choice? Deadly Nightshade?” I asked Cassius, pointing at one of the plants in the book we’re reading. He turned his attention to it, carefully reading its description. “Everything sounds fine to me. I’m not knowledgeable about plants, so everything I read is incredible.”I rolled my eyes, though the smile on my lips betrayed m

Seraphine’s Point of ViewAs soon as our teacher dismissed the class, I quickly picked up my satchel and ran out of the room. I could hear Leilani calling out my name, and Luster’s confused grumbling. I ignored how Cassius tried to reach out to me.I dashed away, ducking from the other students on the hallway and stairs as I made my way out of the school. I breathed out a sigh of relief once I was near the Residential Area, only to squeal in surprise when someone grabbed the arm where Asher left off his hand mark. I scrambled to pull away, wincing as it stung.“Why is your arm bleeding?”My blood went cold when I realised it was Cassius who grabbed me. It seemed he ran as fast as he could to catch up, seeing as he’s still panting as well.I managed to pull my arms away from him, and then I turned around to leave.“If you insist on running away, I will tell your parents that someone’s bullying you.”I spun and directed my scowl at Cassius. “Don’t you dare, Cassius.”“Then tell me hones

Seraphine’s Point of View“Do you play this kind of game?” I shook my head. “I played hide and seek and other chasing games with the kids back in our previous village, but not any ball games.”Josiah smiled charmingly at me. If I wasn’t so in love with Cassius, and if I didn’t know him from our previous life, I would probably fall for his charm.“Do you like playing tiring games?”Despite being cautious of these guys, I still tried my best to be polite and friendly with them. So to avoid being miserable the whole time I spend with them, I might as well try to enjoy it.Smiling, I nodded. “I prefer it to mind games.”Josiah laughed heartily, throwing his head back. “Who the fuck even likes mind games?”“That guy over there,” I responded at the same time someone behind me said. “Maximus, that swot.”I turned around to see who it was.Augustus Ferrell. The youngest son of the Ferrells, who were members of the Council and Circle. An old family too in this town, so they’re well known in t

Seraphine’s Point of View“I can’t believe we’ll find out about our mates next year,” Leilani mumbled beside me as she sipped her grape juice. “We just met our wolf last year! How time flies so fast.”“It’s been just a few weeks since New Year, Leil,” I said.“Am I wrong? It’s still last year!”I shook my head, not bothering to counter her words.“I don’t want to be eighteen yet...”I turned to Leilani, eyes wide in surprise. “What? I thought you were looking forward to meeting your mate?”“That was before Luster confessed to me,” she flashed a wistful smile. “I wanted him as my mate. I’ve liked him for so long, Sera. I thought I liked Clove, but Luster’s just different.”“Are you afraid that Luster isn’t your mate?”She nodded. My heart clenched at the thought that they really weren’t mates. But... she could still reject her mate. I feel so bad thinking about it, but Leilani and Luster are my friends. I want them to be happy.“I don’t want to reject whoever my mate will be. I can’t d

Seraphine’s Point of View“Are you an enemy... or an ally?”George blinked his eyes multiple times before he burst into laughter. “What are you talking about, Sera?” He asked after he recovered from his laughter.I raised an eyebrow as I crossed my arms on my chest. “Cut the act, George. My wolf is smart, and I know your wolf is aware of it too, that's why you didn’t attend my birthday celebration yesterday.”I just realised it right now as well. For the past few birthdays I had, George is always present. Aiah also told me that George wasn’t really sick. Wolves can smell that. So the only probable reason why he didn’t attend my celebration is because his wolf had told him about my wolf. It seemed his wolf had recognised my scent, I just didn’t know how they knew it was me.He was avoiding meeting me because he knew I’d found out about him being a time-traveler.George paled, but he quickly masked it by chuckling and shaking his head. Unfortunately for him, he’s obviously nervous. “I

Cassius’ Point of ViewSomething changed in the air between my brother and Seraphine, but I couldn’t determine what it was. I just know something shifted the day Seraphine went to the Homestead with me, looking for George. She came to my room after talking with my brother, looking dazed and rather distracted. They became closer, for some reason. They don’t hang out as often as we do but Seraphine would visit him in his room before she visits me when she comes to the Homestead. She hasn’t done that before. It sparked the burning jealousy inside my chest. I don’t like feeling this way, but I couldn’t help it.Especially because my confession plan for Seraphine’s birthday was a massive failure.First, the banner I made was destroyed when I spilled my coffee on it the morning of her birthday. I wasn’t able to redo it again, so I decided not to do it anymore. So I focused on baking a cake for her— chocolate truffle cake. Daniel taught me how to do this when I visited their house. I didn’

  • The Luna from the Future   Chapter 85

Seraphine’s Point of View ‘I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it.’ I put the book I’m trying to read down on the table, groaning at my wolf’s incessant rant in our mind link. ‘Stop it, Aiah. You’re giving me a headache.’ ‘Because I hate it, Sera! He doesn’t remember you at all! That just means Azi doesn’t remember me either!’ I sighed, feeling bad for my wolf. ‘I’m sorry, Aiah.’ ‘It’s not your fault. It’s that stupid Maximus and Jax’s fault! They’re the reason why our mates don’t remember us anymore! Why we have to suffer these one-sided memories!’ ‘It will be alright in time, Aiah. There’s a lot of time for you to get closer with Azi. Don’t let the past ruin your chances of being with your mate again. Just do what I did, alright? I’ll help you, Aiah.’ My wolf seemed to calm down at that, though I could still hear her growling in displeasure and anger. At least she stopped her whining, because I couldn’t focus on what I was reading. Aiah got to meet Cassius yesterd

  • The Luna from the Future   Chapter 84

Seraphine’s Point of ViewTwenty fucking minutes.I still have to wait for twenty minutes before my birthday comes. Twenty more minutes before I meet Aiah again.Just like in my first life, I wasn’t able to sleep properly as I waited for my birthday to come. It’s like the first time all over again. But can anyone blame me? Meeting one’s wolf is one of the most important events in our lives. The memories and feelings during that moment your wolf manifested are something no one can forget anytime soon.“Sweetie, will you sit down here and drink your tea before I tie you on the chair?”I pouted at my mother. But before I could respond, dad came to my rescue.“Let the child feel excited, Cecil. You’ve been in her place once. Surely, you’d remember the restless excitement everyone feels while waiting for their birthday.”I nodded in agreement while mom glared at the two of us. “Fine, but don’t do that in front of me. I’m getting dizzy from all your back and forth.”Saluting my mother, I he

Seraphine’s Point of View“Welcome back!” I smiled while watching Cassius as he was greeted and welcomed warmly by our classmates. It only faded when I noticed most of the girls taking the opportunity to cling to him.My brows furrowed, lips pursing in displeasure. These opportunistic, two-faced girls! “What got you frowning so early in the morning?”I didn’t deign an answer to Luster’s question. I just slumped on my seat, closing my eyes. I could feel him and Leilani exchanging glances, and I knew for sure they were talking again using their eyes.Cassius wasn’t supposed to attend classes again until next week, but he told his parents he felt like he'd already lost so much time. And also because he’d be bored to death if he stayed alone at home for another week. I started attending classes again a week after Cassius woke up. I visited him two hours before I went to school— which means I woke early— and after class until before dinner. His mother cried when she heard the word ‘death

Seraphine’s Point of ViewThe hidden falls was something that I didn’t want to share with my other friends, even though Luster and Cassius knew about it. I only showed it to Leilani so she knew about its existence, but I didn’t want to hang out with them there. The lake is our preferable place to hang out.For me, I feel sentimental about this place because Maximus and I reconciled here years ago. We rarely come here, but when we do, it’s always memorable.“Let’s go up there,” I said, pointing at the humongous rock. Maximus nodded and he went there first, helping me as I climbed up. “Go there at the other rock,” I told him.His brows furrowed in confusion. “What? Why?”I sat down and pulled the painting materials out of the paper bag. “I’m going to paint you.”His jaw dropped, a look of utter surprise on his face as he looked at the materials I was holding. “I... I didn’t know you could paint.”I shrugged. “Because I never told you about it. I rarely do these, so you should feel hono

Seraphine’s Point of ViewI don’t know how long I was staring at the moon from the balcony of my room. I just came here to clear my mind, but the moon above caught my attention and I couldn’t keep my eyes away from it anymore.Lady Selene... are you watching over me? Can you see what I’ve done to the timeline? I couldn’t recognise it anymore because of all the changes I brought. If you’re watching me right now, I hope you could at least give me a hint if I’m doing things right...But no, she’s not allowed to do that even if she wants to. I huffed softly. I miss Aiah. I’m so excited to meet her again. If she still remembers our first life, I hope she’s happy that Azi remained the same. Though she might get annoyed at the fact Cassius considered another name for his wolf.I can already imagine her non-stop admonishment. I used to get so annoyed at her whenever she did that before, but I just miss it so much right now.“Raph.”I turned around to face Maximus. When did he enter my room?
