Katherine pov

Her eyes were piercing, as if she saw through me at first sight. The smirk and amusement that grew on her expression was known to just me and I believed I was not imagining it.

She knew everything.

"Yes, I know everything," she muttered.

"Leave!" I yelled out, knowing the boys still stood around to listen to what Dorcas and I had to say. "I'm talking to the both of you."

I listened carefully as their footsteps receded into the distance.

"Don't worry. They wouldn't even hear the right things we say unless I let them," Dorcas shrugged.

I narrowed my gaze at her, wondering if I would consider her a friend or a foe.

"Katherine, that's a lot of backstory. We could write a novel and make a hit," she joked, picking a flower pot and playing around with it.

Dorcas's eyes traced my every detail, and unease crept through me like a shadow in the dimly lit wardroom. "How do you know so much about me with just a g?" I questioned, my gaze fixated on her.
