Ambling around the living room, lost in her thoughts, Hafsa Siddique once again dialled his number and the put the phone on her ear. The voice of the caller girl came from the other side, informing that the number she is dialling is switched off. Taking a deep breath in, Hafsa sat on the sofa.
Where are you? She asked in her heart, as she again looked at the wall clock. It was past midnight and he has still not returned from office.
He has never been this careless before. Whenever he had to work late, he would at least msg her. But today, no msg from his side came, nor he is receiving her calls. Hafsa was now apprehensive, all the horrible thoughts starting making place in her mind. She didn't want to think anything bad happens to him but her thoughts were getting as grimy as the night.
"Ma'am! I've found it." Maid's voice startled her.
"What?" Taking her hand away from her temple, Hafsa stood up, and asked.
"Your earring. It was laying near the shelf." The maid showed her the small golden, diamond-studded earning.
Hafsa checked her left ear. True, her earring was missing. She took it from the maid and again wore it.
"Oh and heat the food again then you can go, I'll do other thing by myself." When Hafsa saw the Maid was still standing there, she understood her hesitancy, and told her.
Nodding her head, the maid left.
Hafsa once again sat down on the sofa, and picked a magazine from the coffee table to distract herself from negative thoughts. But she couldn't focus on it.
Her heart was anxious in his thoughts.
•••
The sound of the doorbell woke her up from her slumber, she quickly ran towards the main door.
"Assalam-Alaikum!" There was he, Daniyal Malik, the reason behind her restlessness. Hafsa took a relief breath out when saw him perfectly fine.
"Walekum-Assalam!" Slowly, she answered and stand aside to let him enter.
But when he entered, she breathed in a strong fragrance that wasn't his. In the eight years of their marriage, Hafsa knows his smell very well, he only uses forest spice, and it was definitely not that. The fragrance was something feminine. Like the mixture of jasmine and roses.
In her thoughts, Hafsa didn't notice when Daniyal already left for their room.
What I am thinking. Scolding herself, Hafsa removed all the qualms from her mind and also left.
•••
"Um, Dinner?" When Hafsa entered their room, she saw him already changed and comfortable in the bed, which made her questioned.
"Have you ate?" In return, Daniyal asked her.
"I never eat without you" She reminded him with a sullen face.
How could he forget that? He knows very well that she only eats when he is present at the table.
"Then come, let's eat together." Getting down from the bed, Daniyal held her hand in his, and said.
Although, Hafsa was starving, but it died when she saw Daniyal wasn't hungry. He was playing with his food rather than eating. she understood that he must have eaten something in the office, he was a dining table just for her. This thought made her more upset.
These days, he was acting unsual.
When they returned to their room, Hafsa went to changing room to put something comfortable. Before changing her dress Hafsa looked at herself one last time, she was wearing a long white frock churidaar with golden embroidery and a simple organza dupatta.
White wasn't her favorite color, she hated wearing white or any other light shade color. She used to think it never suits her pinkish pale skin. But one week after their marriage, they had to go to a business party and Daniyal picked her to outfit. It was a white saree with red embroidery and a red blouse.
"White will really suit you." She still remembers his words. From that day she started buying more white clothes.
After her marriage, she has literally done anything to everything to make herself according to his likeness.
Shaking her head, she changes into a comfortable purple-colored nightgown.
"Didn't you work enough in the office?" Hafsa asked when she saw Daniyal was still up and working on his laptop.
"I'm sorry actually it was... Forget it, I'll do it in the study room. You must be getting disturbed by the keyboard noise and its light." Daniyal was telling her then shook his head, removing the comforter away from him, he was about to get up.
"I didn't say that." Said Hafsa, irritatedly as she lay down, her back facing Daniyal,
A soft smile fall on his face, as he shut his laptop and put it on the side table.
He also lay down, and put his hand on Hafsa's waist. He was tired, that's why he falls asleep instantly.
Feeling his tender breath on her neck, Hafsa turned to him. It has become one of her habits to look at his sleeping face. At that moment, Hafsa forgets everything. Like how restless he made her just an hour ago.
The rays of the sun fall on her face, enhancing her beauty with its gleam as she stirred in her sleep. Turning to her left side, Hafsa hug the comforter more close her and reaches her arm out to hold Daniyal. But found his side of the bed empty.Opening her eyes, she looked around to find him, but he was nowhere. He must have left for his morning exercise. Thinking this, she sat up and put her long brown hair in a bun.Today, she has to go to the office. There was an important meeting which she couldn't miss.•••"Huzaifa, Ayaan, Wake up." After getting ready, Hafsa went to her sons'
Daniyal didn't had any cousin, or any relative for the matter of fact. Then with whom he was at the mall? Whom did Khirad saw him with? Who was that girl? Was Daniyal hiding something from her? That night, he came late and said it was office work when in reality he left the office early that evening. Where was he that evening? Many questions came in her mind, but answer was none. And who was that girl Khirad saw him with? Was Khirad telling truth? Hafsa asked herself.
The five months of Hafsa's pregnancy passed soon, and now it was the sixth month. Hafsa took a leave from the office because the doctor advised her for bed rest. When she was pregnant with Huzaifa or Ayaan, she wasn't that sick. Huzaifa was her firstborn, she didn't have her mother, or mother-in-law who would tell what to do, or whatnot. Hafsa only had her father and Daniyal but her first pregnancy passed smoothly, she was hardly sick or had any mood swings, most of the time she was just sleepy or hungry. Her second pregnancy was also easy as she already knew now what she had to do or not. But this time, it was very troublesome for her as she was always sick."Mamma, please!" Ayaan jumped on the bed and whined.
Her blood pressure was high, seems like she was taking tension about something but what?Daniyal sees off the doctor to the door and again went to his wife, who was laying on their king-size bed.Putting the white comforter to her waist, Daniyal sat beside her and held her forehead in his hand, she also had a fever. Although, the doctor gave her a shot, but Daniyal was still scared for her and his baby.He felt her moving which made him sit straight.Hafsa slowly opened her eyes and looked around confusingly."Hafsa, are you okay?" Daniyal held her h
Flashback continues*One evening, she was serving her father tea when he invited her to sit with him, which was unusual, Ubaid Siddiqui always has his evening tea alone with his book.Nevertheless, Hafsa sat on the floor and put her arms in his lap."Although, I'm feeling weird to have this conversation with you because most of the time, it is mother, who talked to their daughter about her feelings. But what can I do? Your mother passed away when you didn't even know how to talk properly." Putting his hand on Hafsa's head, Ubaid lovingly told her.Hafsa was his only kid, and very precious to him.
Her husband was hugging another woman. This shattered her trust into pieces. Even after everything, she never questioned him because her love was greater than the doubt. And that's what she got in return? Her husband had another woman in his arms.Feeling someone's eyes on him, Daniyal raised his head and saw Hafsa looking at him. Her hazel eyes clash against his black eyes."Hafsa!" He whispered when saw tears in her beautiful eyes. The girl in arms raised her head confusingly to look at him, then turn to look where he was looking at. Shock plastered over her face when saw Hafsa outside of their ward.Hafsa didn't wait another second and left

Harsh rays of sun falls against the car window, as Daniyal drove them somewhere.Hafsa didn't have courage to ask him where they are going. Although, her heart was dying to know. While Daniyal was driving the car in silence, Hafsa was sitting in passenger seat without uttering a word, kids in the backseat were chirping happily.Huzaifa and Ayaan were really happy that after many months they are going for an outing with their parents. Laiba was at home, in the care of her nanny. The car stopped outside of a small house
It was Friday afternoon when Madiha visited her parents but found no one was at home except Iman, who was reading a book in the lawn.Seeing Madiha made Iman happy as she put her book down on the table and took off her reading specs."When did you come?" Getting up, Iman hugged Madiha and asked."I was missing everyone here, so Zamin dropped me.""Where is he?" Iman looked behind Madiha, expecting Zamin there, but when she found no one, she turned to Madiha and asked."Oh, he was getting late, so he left.""You should have invited him for tea, at least." Iman was disappointed."It's okay. He can have tea in the office.""Madiha, he is our son-in-law. It is not a good thing that he came to our house and left from the gate.""It's okay, aunt. Chill." Madiha was still careless, not understanding why a son-in-law gets so much attention and hype."Let's go inside." Iman thought it was no use talking to Madiha and invited her in."Where are Mama and Papa?""They've gone to a retirement part
"You know Aunt Iman will live here now." At night, after they returned from Madiha's house, Madiha told Zamin, excitedly. "What?" Zamin, who was engrossed in his phone, raised his head and asked. "Aunt Iman won't go back to London, she will stay here in India with mummy papa." Taking of her bracelet, Madiha explained. "That's nice, she must be alone in London. It is a good thing she decided to live here with everyone." Zamin nods his head and again focuses on his phone. "You are right." Madiha also nods her head, thinking about Iman's loneliness, this thought upset her further, how did Iman live all these years by herself? Without the support of a companion? This sudden question brought Dabir's thoughts in her mind. "Tell me one thing, why is your uncle still single?" She voiced her thoughts. "Huh? What?" "Your uncle, Dabir uncle, he never married right? Why?" Getting up from the dresser, Madiha went to sit beside him on the bed and asked. "Actually the thing is.. first promis
"Do you accept the marriage?" "I do." Madiha said from behind the veil, her voice was undertone and shivering. The moment of vows made the bold Madiha shy. As Madiha accepted the marriage, the hall was filled with congratulations. Priest went to groom's side, who was sitting opposite of Madiha and flower curtains was between them. Priest asked the same question to groom three times. And Zamin accepted it three times. As he spoke third time, the curtains was drawn out, making both groom and bride to see each other, though Madiha's face was hidden behind the veil.Getting up, Zamin went to Madiha, sitting on his knees infront of her, he unveiled her face. Madiha's eyes were glimmered with tears but as she saw happy face of Zamin, her own face broke into a huge smile. Smiling, Zamin pecked on her forehead. •••When Zamin and Madiha were sitting together on sofa, Zamin nudged her and shrugged his collar, as if asking her if his off white suit is good. Madiha was always close to Iman. Even now, she was with Iman in her room, filling her with every tiniest details of her marriage. "How did you two meet?" Iman asked, suddenly"I forgot to tell you that." Madiha smacked her forehead and said, as if it was the most important thing. Well it was, she wanted to tell Iman everything that happened in her life from past five years. Last she met Iman was five years ago, that too when Madiha with her parents went to London. "We met because of my friend Hamna..." Madiha took a sip of her coffee and started telling her. •••*Flashback* "Please!" Hamna requested while holding her hands together in front of Madiha. "What? Are you mad? No!" Shaking her head, Madiha refused. "You are my friend no?" Mustering up innocent face, Hamna asked. "I am your friend and that's why I am saying no." "Madiha, please, I don't wanna get married yet." "No one is telling you to marry tomorrow, you are only going to meet him, to know him." Madiha tried to r
*Flashback* "It is tasty right?" Asked Iman, as she stuffed his mouth with sweet that she made. "Hmm, it is." Mouth still full of sweet, Dabir replied, and picked another piece from her tiffin box. "Why did you make this? Obviously not for me." He asked, still relishing the sweet. "For my niece Madiha. My sister has come to visit us. And Madiha has become so mischievous. Last time I saw her, she was this size." Iman made cup of her hands to show Dabir how little Madiha was, and now, Madiha has started walking and talking, she was growing up fast according to Iman. Madiha was very dear to Iman and it was visible in her eyes which gleam in happiness. "Oh, I just remember, I have to pick Zamin from his school. I am sorry, Iman, but I have to go." Dabir quickly picked his bag and got up to leave. "But tiffin." Iman called after him, telling him to take the sweet box with him as it was for him. But Dabir was running late and didn't listen to her, making Iman shook her head negativel

Holding Subh-Dil's hand in his, Ammar recalled the advice of the doctor. "What it is that is making you stress? Please tell me so I can help you." He rubbed the back of her hand against his cheek, and mumbles. "Please, Subh-Dil, don't keep it all in your heart, just let it go and leave everything on me." He stayed like that for what felt like infinity, and then softly kissed her knuckles. He placed her hand on her stomach and left. If Subh-Dil wanted, she would have told him everything. But she didnt. He needed to find out the truth. He needed to know about Azam Tahir. What had he to do with Subh-Dil? He deserved to know the truth. But what kind of truth, when Subh-Dil isn't ready to tell anything. And if she isn't going to tell him anything, he'll find out the truth by himself. He ran his hand through his hair several

A stranger was standing in his office, talking awful words about his wife, but Ammar wasn't the man who would just sit there listening to all of this. He threw the man out of his office and told his men to give him a good beat. Ammar didn't know who he was, his guard told him someone name Azam Tahir is here from Aaspur, Subh-Dil's hometown.
