Fiona

The crowds exclaimed in unison and it matched the way I was feeling. What the hell was going on? I couldn’t give myself answers as I stared at the two men bowing at my feet like I was some kind of idol.

“I……I don’t….” The words that came out of my mouth turned out to be complete gibberish.

One of them lifted his head up and I just hoped that he would laugh at me and claim they were only messing with me, but that didn’t happen.

“Luna, you really don’t remember us?” He asked in a whisper, looking a little bit disappointed. His second friend also looked up at me and mirrored his expression.

It can’t be. He had just referred to me as Luna. Nobody here knows my title nor did they know where I was from. But these men knew me, then definitely they knew where I was from.

At that moment, it became obvious to me that they were from silver fang, obviously warriors sent into battle. But how come I can’t recognize them? It felt strange as I recognized almost everyone in silver fang.

LucianIt has been five days since Fiona fled into those woods. I stood at the edge of the training ground with my back turned to the warriors as they engaged themselves in physical combat. My eyes fixated into the woods looming in the distance, hoping her figure would just emerge out of there. I had lost her brother, Orion, just a few weeks back. I can’t even give myself the assurance that he might still be alive. Now his sister has also gone missing. I have failed as an alpha. I have failed to protect the ones who love me the most. My warriors have searched endlessly, unable to find anything significant or even anything that would even bring us close to finding her. Everyone is filled with the thought that she had escaped and fled because she was guilty. Even though that may be true, I still couldn’t bear the pain of not feeling her presence within the pack. Worst of all, I wouldn’t be able to bear the pain of her and my unborn child being hurt out there. Those woods are danger

LucianI stepped closer, narrowing my eyes as I examined the body. Dexter growled lowly in my chest as he became uneasy. One of my elders who had a bald head and pale blue eyes turned to me, “they left this at the border this morning. Perhaps a warning from those wretched rogues.” Elder palas hissed. I clenched my fists at my side. The rogues were clearly sending a message, they weren’t to be joked with anymore. Maddox crossed his arms. “Looks like your enemies have grown bolder. It’s time for you to act back, what is your plan? Lucian.”I pondered for a moment. One of my warriors was lying dead and decaying in front of me but all that came to my mind was her, Fiona. Our bond has been shattered but I could still feel the frayed strings of our mate bond connecting her soul to mine. It was a tiny and very weak signal, but enough to make me know that she is alive. Even though I had this small confirmation of her being alive, it wasn’t enough to let me know if she was ina by kind of d

Lucian“Alpha, with all due respect. That is suicide.” Elder palas gave me a stone look. The other elders also shot me with their murderous glares. He paused to adjust his position on the chair before continuing. “Going to them also means crossing the borderline that divides us from the neutral grounds. The rogue land. Are we going to be the ones breaking the law we set ourselves?”Maybe it is a suicidal thought or not, I didn’t care. As long as it’s a chance for me to see Fiona again. It was worth it. It was all starting to make sense now. Her inability to shift into her wolf was because of the sacred wolf's absence and when her wolf finally shifted, the extinct pack suddenly reappeared. She has some kind of connection with these wolves, I can tell that now.She had been telling the truth all along. I needed to find her first. And all my instincts were pointing towards the sacred pack. They have her and I was determined to get her out no matter what. The lady elder spoke up, her

LucianDexter growled within me, my eyes glowing in red as my wolf took over my vision. The disrespect that I have been tolerating from Maddox has suddenly become unbearable. How dare he barge into my room like that?I met his gaze head-on as my growl became the only sound that filled the room. Maddox took a step back, there was a flash of fear in his eyes before they suddenly vanished. “You have no rights to barge into my privacy like that,” I growled. Maddox growled back, “what privacy?” He chuckled. “Do I need to remind you that this pack belongs to you and I now? I have every right to go in and out of anywhere.”My blood ran cold as soon as he said those words. He was beginning to show his true demeanor, one I didn’t see before signing for his alliance with my pack. I wanted to lash back at him and say he’s wrong. He has no place in my pack. He is nothing more than a of fool who I just happen to need his help. I wanted to yell and tell him to go to hell with his pack. My veins

LucianI was right all along, my suspicions about maddox. He definitely had a hand in this. I was lost in thought that I didn’t know my focus had shifted. One of the rogues quickly lunges at me, full of claws and teeth. I braced myself for a counter attack but before I could move, a blur of motion moved past me. My head-warrior, Gareth, clashed into the rogue, ripping his claws at its stomach. “Not today,” he growled, working his claws into the rogue’s stomach and chest. I gave Gareth a quick nod of thanks before shifting my attention back into the fight. The odds were totally against our favor. My eyes darted to Maddox again, who was eerily calm on his horse. “Maddox, is this your doing?” I roared. Maddox turned to me, his face stone cold. “You think I’d let the rogues kill me too? At least just trust me for once.”Before I could give him a response, Maddox tilted his head backwards and let out a terrifying howl that echoed throughout the forest. The sound was so powerful that I

LucianThe rogue’s blade glistened under the sunlight as it pressed dangerously against the girl’s throat, drawing a thin line of blood that bead from where the blade broke her skin. The little girl whimpered, her big eyes wide and full of terror, and at that moment I felt my confidence waver. “I said drop your weapons,” the rogue snarled again, his voice dripping with malice. I clenched my fist tight beside me, my claws begging to free themselves between my folded palm. For a moment, I felt the urge to lunge at the rogue and save the poor girl. But then again, one wrong move could cost her life. My eyes darted around, my heart racing as I analyzed the scene before me. Alpha Maddox, Gareth and our warriors were all ready to fight, their bodies tense and beads of sweat rolled down their faces as the sun bathed us with its scorching glow. Everyone was ready, but the girl’s life was the weight I couldn’t ignore. I can’t afford to fail this sacred pack on the first time of meeting t

FionaHours stretched on into eternity as I was forced to witness the nightmare unfold before me. The warriors were breathing slowly, their bodies were unrecognizable under the layers of blood and bruises. Their groans and muffled cries pierced into my soul. But I just couldn’t let my emotions get the best of me. The rogue king watched with sinister satisfaction all along, waiting for the moment when they would give in, his cruel eyes shimmering as that of a predator messing with its prey. He was also trying to break me. That by forcing me to watch the warriors being tortured in horror, he would force me to reveal the truth. But I just couldn’t, I couldn’t allow myself to be responsible for the destruction of my pack by giving him information he wanted. I clenched my fists tight behind me, my nails digging into my palms as I struggled to keep myself composed. The warriors still didn’t talk. Despite the searing hot rods pressed against their skin, relentless beatings and blades be

FionaMy vision blurred as I blinked my eyes hard, drifting back into consciousness. My neck throbbed with intense pain from where the rogue king’s claw had dug into my flesh. The pain gradually began to dull as I peeled myself from the cold ground, my wolf’s healing was slowly kicking in. The sound of battle was still raging outside—snarls, howls, the clash of body and metals, the harsh mixture of sounds that finally pulled me awake. My head felt heavy as I planted my feet into the ground. My eyes scanned the room to see that the rogue king was gone. However, he wasn’t the top of my worries nor was the loud noise of battle erupting from outside. It was the name that had filled me with hope and anticipation right before everything went black. Orion. My brother who had been missing for so long that he was presumed dead by some silver fang pack members and elders. I could remember Lucian also losing hope on ever finding him. Could it really be him? Hope and fear warred within me at

FionaThe blonde warrior rested his back on the edge of the entrance, his eyes darted from Rhena's face to mine and then back at Rhena again. He moved his weight away from the door, taking a few steps closer to the bed. “Tell who what?” He asked again, this time his tone demanded a quick response. I fidgeted, hoping Rhena would be my new secret keeper and not rat me out to the warrior. I took a quick glance at her but she quickly avoided my eyes. She stood up and faced the warrior, dipping her hands into the pocket of her lab coat, she sighed, and I knew right then and there that she would expose me. “Beta Nox, I’m afraid Fiona here might have lost her wolf,” Rhena said, looking Nox dead in the eyes. For a moment, a wave of relief washed over me, and I was glad that she didn’t reveal my pregnancy. But then my relief was quickly replaced by shock. At first I thought she had just said that just to throw Beta off from knowing about my pregnancy. But then I remembered when last I had

FionaI was dumbfounded. My body froze on the spot and my blood ran cold. I felt a clutch on my chest and for a second my heart stopped. The hair on the back of my neck stood, a wave of shock and fear crawling up my spine. Time seem to slow down as I watched these strange people threat Orion like a god. I tried to solve the puzzle in my head but it just didn’t make any sense. My brother who had just been missing for a few weeks was now an alpha of another pack. One of the women from the crowd threw a large brown furred cloak on their Alpha’s shoulder to protect him from the morning cold. Orion smiled at her and the woman’s face warmed up. Orion turned to me, “come on,” he said, stretching out his hand. It was at that moment that I snapped out of my daze. I looked down at his thick hairy hand but I hesitated. The man standing before me looked like a complete stranger, a god and a demon in the same soul. I wanted to take his hand so he could take me away from the commotion of his p

FionaThe path we had followed all the way here was eerie, mysterious and downright treacherous. I was still stunned by the unexpected way we got down from that cliff. The way Orion’s men were so quick and organized to bring us down made me conclude that it was their first time being up and off that cliff. Orion barked orders at them and the men seemed to obey without questions. They feared him. The way they cower at his presence almost made me question if he was really my brother or if it was just a shapeshifter pretending to be him. In our pack, Orion was never considered to be someone with a frightening demeanor, Lucian was, and that was why the elders had made him alpha instead of Orion. It was hard to believe, but I was pretty certain that the figure in front of me was my brother. As he is the only one who calls me little bird. However, my big brother now had his little bird shackled in silver chains. It had taken me quite a while to recover from the shock that Orion ordered h

LucianIn record time, I got back to the rogue's territory, my chest heaving and beads of sweat rolled down my body as I tried to catch my breath. The flames that ate at the tents and buildings had now died down. Thick smoke filled the clearing and dead rogues were sprawled on the entire ground. My eyes scanned the area to see where Gareth was, but I couldn’t find him in sight. I attempted to sniff for his scent but it was only the thick smoke that filled my nostrils. Tracking his scent was a no, so I mindlinked instead. My eyes glossed over, “Gareth, report your location,” I commanded. Gareth responded almost immediately, “alpha, I have the rogue in a small clearing next to the isolated building at the edge of the territory.”I scanned around until my eyes came in contact with the narrow building at the far end of the battle scene. I walked carefully towards the building, my feet barely making a sound as I moved with caution. I knew Maddox was already heading back here to find me

Lucian“I suspected,” I said carefully, trying to keep my tone even. “The scent……her scent was faint and I did want to say anything until I was sure.”Maddox narrowed his eyes down at me, and for a moment I thought he was going to accuse me of something outright, but instead he turned to his warriors. “Double your efforts, we might be onto something here.” He said, his lips curling into a smirk. I shook my head in disbelief and I watched the warriors obey immediately and started combing out the area. My stomach churned with unease, hoping that Fiona wasn’t anywhere close to this area. Maddox knew she could be close now, he had a chance to punish her for what she did to his daughter and I was positive that he would take that advantage at any chance he got. I took another look at the fall from the cliff’s edge. The blood confirmed that she had definitely been here, but where could she have gone? The cliff was too high for anyone to survive a fall. And yet, her scent had ended abruptl

LucianAfter all that had happened here, I could only hope that she was safe in the hands of that person that have taken her. “We need to distract Maddox, and try to find her before he does,” Dexter suggested. “You’re right, but what if she’s not alone? What if facing another army of rogues alone?” I asked through mindlink. “Then we fight for our mate,” Dexter growled, and suddenly I realized how much of a coward I was to have thought like that. I sighed and then replied, “and that’s what we will do.”“Good.”I turned to gareth wh was still examining the dead bodies and gestured for him to come over, doing my best not to attract Maddox attention. “What’s the matter alpha?” Gareth asked as soon as he got close to me. “I need a favor,” I replied, my eyes darting around to see if any of Maddox’s warrior was watching my conversation with Gareth, but fortunately they were all too busy searching the area. “You have me at your disposal, alpha,” Gareth bowed his head slightly. I nodde

LucianThe chain bit at my wrist like acid as we trudged further into the dense forest. The rogue wolves held out their sharp blades to ensure that nobody fell out of line. I glanced at Maddox who walked ahead of me, his face had been masked in restrained anger. He had barely said a word ever since we had left the sacred pack. Curse those wolves. However, Maddox’s anger wasn’t even directed at the rogues. It was directed at me, I knew it even if his eyes were staring at me. I had made the deadly mistake of trusting a stranger, a gullible move that wouldn’t have been attempted by even a pup. I kept drowning in my own thoughts or failure. The death of Maddox warriors and mine weighed on me just as much as it weighed on him. But I knew that this wasn’t the time for guilt or apology. We needed to focus on our survival. Ahead of me, my head warrior Gareth walked under the rogue’s command, his step measured. He was also a bit disappointed in me and I could feel it. The feelings hurt e

FionaHis arms pressed against my neck, squeezing breath out of my lungs. The icy contact of his dagger ate at my skin. My blood trickled down in a thin, warm line as the blade made a slight cut on my neck. “Stay back!” He ordered Orion, who attempted to take a step closer. I dared a glance at Orion. My brother, tall and unyielding, his eyes blazed with fury and his growl shook the ground. But there he stood, frozen, unable to help me from the hands of this madman. His warrior wolves stood at a distance, their entire fur bloodied with victory, their gazes locked on me and the rogue king with helpless anger. “Let her go,” Orion growled once again. “ she’s not a part of this,” he said. The rogue king laughed in a dark manner, his breath hot and irritating to my ear. “Oh I think she is, isn’t she? You have given me the perfect chance for my escape, Orion. Her precious life for my escape. That seems very fair, doesn’t it?”“You’re never going to go free, darmacus.” Orion replied thro
