Finding The Key!

Amy stared at his hand before accepting the handshake. She smiled weirdly at him. She could see the striking resemblance between him and Carlos.

"Come on, hop in let me take you guys home" Bill said. Gina and Leo shook their head in disapproval.

"No thank you, we can find our way home"

"Hey! I'm a cop so I insist. Now! Get into the car!" He yelled at them. They adjusted their bags and got into the car after Amy.

Bill started the engine and zoomed off.

Kathy didn't sleep until Amy arrived home. She was worried about her.

She suddenly heard a car pulled over outside the house. She jerked up to her feet and rushed to the window. She watched as Amy walked out of the car and waved at the person in the car.

Finally, Amy got into the house. She slowly closed the door, thinking her aunt was asleep.

"You don't have to" her aunt's voice frightened her. She shook in fear and kicked the door close.

"Hi aunt" she greeted and threw herself on the chair.

"Why are you late? You got me worried"

"I'm sorry. We were attacked by some goons" Amy rolled her eyes.

"Goons? Are you hurt? Oh.. silly me, you can't ever get hurt. But you should be careful. If the media find out about what you are, the scientist are going to use you for experiment"

"It won't happen aunt. You don't have to worry too much. My secret is safe" she said and walked to her room. Kathy sighed deeply and stared at niece as she walked away. She remembered the night her sister gave birth to Amy. Her pregnancy happened so suddenly and in a month time, she was in labor. She had to keep it a secret because no one would even believe her if she told anyone.

After giving birth to her, her parents died mysteriously. Kathy could feel that Amy was curved from birth. She was taken to priest and pastors just there was no changes. The priests were even scared of her.

Her gaze met with the calendar. In two weeks time, Amy was going to clock eighteen.

According to fairytale stories, something strange always happen to the cursed ones. She hope things are different for Amy. She sighed heavily and shut her eyes closed.

"Amy? Amy?" Carlos called out her name, looking for her at the junior locker.

Amy could hear her name from distance but didn't stop what she was doing. Suddenly, someone grabbed her from behind and pinned her to her locker. He started checking every part of her body.

"Jeez Carlos, stop! Everyone is watching" she said and lowered her head.

"Are you hurt? Bill told me what happened" he said. Amy could see the worry in his eyes. She smiled shyly.

"I'm fine. Don't worry too much about me" she said and wanted to leave. She stopped and turned to face him.

"I also want to learn how to fight. See you after school" she said and walked away. Carlos didn't know if he should laugh or cry. Cry, tears of joy and be happy because he finally had the chance to get close to her.

Amy walked to her class and saw Emma.

"Oh there she is" she heard someone said. It was a glimpse that they've been talking about her.

"What happened?" Amy frowned.

"Did you see the news? The cops have uncovered that there are werewolves in the city"

"Werewolves? Is that a thing?" She asked and scoffed.

"Be careful Amy because they are coming after you" one of her classmates said jokingly, waking her hand in the air like a ghost. Everyone bursted into laughter, including Amy. She had no idea that the joke was the truth.

Steve hasn't gotten any information about the lost blood. He was more worried that Elon would find her first.

One of his men walked in. Steve was happy for some seconds that he has come with good news.

"What is it? Talk to me, have you found her?" He asked.

"There are so many girls in the city. There's no way we can notice her" he said.

"Darn it! F*ck! Steve groaned and angrily kicked into air.

"I'll find her myself. I just don't know what characteristics she has. We need to find the key" he said.

His man that just entered furrowed his eyebrows. He had no idea what was happening.

"Lost blood? Key?" He thought.

"How do we find the key master?" He asked.

"It's no ordinary key. It's a book. That book can lead us to the girl once the power is activated. That means, once she has reached the age to be sacrifice, the book will be awoken" he said.

"Oh" he murmured and lowered his gaze. Slowly, he was understanding how everything worked.

Amy was playing with her food as Emma and the other were still talking about what they heard in the news. It was even on everyone's lips, talking about werewolves.

"I wish one of them could bite me so I could be like them" one of her friends said.

"Yeah, me too"

"What about you Amy? Do you want to get bitten?"

"No, I don't" she replied.

"Uhhh!" They chorused. Her response was different from everyone's own.

"What's wrong Amy? You look really down" Emma asked.

"It's nothing. I'm just tired. You know, my new job" she lied. She was thinking about her birthday. She hope Emma doesn't remember that her birthday is coming up.

"Everything will be fine sweetheart. Besides, we were all thinking of coming to have fun at the club. Even if we don't have access, you are going to help us" Emma winked. A weird smile appeared on her face.

"Amelia Cortez?" Someone called her name behind her.

"Yes?" She turned and stared at him.

"I'm a freshman. Someone asked me to give it to you" he said. It was a gift box and a card on it.

"Okay?" Amy stretched her hand wanting to collect it but Emma grabbed it first.

"Thank you" she waved at him, sending him away.

"Hmm, Amy has a secret lover"

"I wonder who he is"

"Stop" Amy frowned.

Emma grabbed the card and read it.

"Happy birthday in advance to you Amelia Cortez. Oh no, it's your birthday soon!" Emma's eyes bloomed. Amy slapped her forehead in frustration.

"Oh no" she murmured.
