Family Moments

Judy Vegas is in the kitchen of her home cutting some pieces of fish that Jack caught with his 10-year-old son, Jesse. She raises her head, sees them from the window, and gives a proud smile to her husband teaching his son, as she always did on Saturdays, after fishing ... "BANG!" Jack demonstrates with his rifle, hitting a can:

"Your turn. Remember the important thing ..."

"It's not getting it right in the beginning, but evolving with each shot! I already know, dad!" Jesse completes his father's speech, eager to take the next shot. He reloads his shotgun, already with the skill of an adult, while Jack watches him carefully, feeling proud of his son:

"Very well ..." Jack lets out a slight attentive smile for Jesse to make his aim focused on the target ... BANG!

"THAT'S IT! ..." Celebrate! While Jesse is still looking at that can, as if to say; "I'll get you soon!" He turns to his father and asks:

"You liked it?" Finally the boy smiled at his father who praises him with a wide smile:

"It's getting better!" The father extends his hand and the son hits hard, biting his smiling lower lip. Jack continues:

"Soon, soon, that can over there will fly through the air!" (laughs) ... The two laugh and Jesse ends up making a joke:

"What if rust doesn't turn to dust in the air! (Laughter!) ... I've been trying to get this can of evil for a long time! (Laughter) ..." the father agrees:

"Yea! (Laughter) ..." The two have fun and continue to take turns between one shot and another ... Until they are interrupted by the matriarch:

"Lunch is ready!" Judy loosens his throat calling the two and Jack hurries:

"Oops! Your mother's time. Leave it with me." Jack takes his son's shotgun. He thanks:

"Thanks Dad!" While the father goes to storage, the boy runs; passing through the kitchen and arriving in the living room in an instant; sits in his chair; he pulls the air filling his lungs and smelling that delicious lunch, which only a mother knows how to make! Jesse takes off his half-tight gloves, because of his half-accelerated growth. While Judy puts the last pot on the table, she already warns her son:

"Wash your hands, young man!" But he tries to justify himself:

"I had my gloves on, mom!" So she reinforces while taking off her son's hat:

"Do not touch the food with sweaty hands." Just then Jesse gets up, obeying:

"Fine, mom." Meanwhile, Jack is already entering the room and squeezes Judy's left shoulder with affection and kisses her on the forehead, and sits down next. Soon, the three are at the table thanking that moment! Judy always begins to pray in an ambient voice:

"Thank you, Lord, for giving us this day and this moment together, to enjoy your blessings. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. A man! The two repeat the amen."

Judy extends her left arm with a bottle of wine in her hand, placing half a glass for Jack, who thanks him with a smile and raised eyebrows:

"Oops! Thank you, my love!" His wife responds with an always passionate look, confirmed with a slight smile. The brief sound of cutlery once again confirms Judy's talent in the kitchen.

Jack after finishing his meal, puts water in the glass and gives a compliment to his son:

"Judy, our little man is getting better and better with the shotgun!"

"Hmm! ..." Judy nods as she takes the last bites of her meal. The boy smiling also nodding to his mother, gets up collecting his plate and his father's, takes them to the sink, and comments:

"Almost! Just for 'one hand' I didn't get it right! ..." Jack wastes no time and jokes:

"É ... 'a hand of Frankenstein'!" Judy, who was drinking water, almost chokes from laughing ... While the boy is also dominated by laughter:

"Hey! (Laughter) ...' Don't ruin my moment '! (Laughter) ..." Jack laughs, runs his hand through his son's hair and hugs him, showing affection. Judy then gets up and hugs them and kisses them, says proudly:

"Jesse Vegas, you will be a great man, just like your father! ... And this young lady inside me ... Katerina Vegas is also going to be a great woman! ..." Jack begins to caress his wife's belly and agrees with a smile accompanied by a radiant look:

"It will, yes, be a great Vegas!..."The three are still embracing, ... but Jesse is curious:

"Mother, how do you know it is not a boy?" Judy responds with a sparkle in her eyes like she never had:

"The mother's heart never deceives my son."

After the sacred afternoon rest, the three (the four) are in the stable, taking care of some of their horses.

On Saturdays, Jack usually dismisses his helpers before noon to spend more time with his family ...

A Texas radio station plays country as they brush their animals' hooves and hair ...

Then a very old song begins and Judy then gets up from the bench and goes to the radio and increases the volume of the sound ...

Jack stops for a moment, watches his wife walk with that belly, in that light pink dress ... those strong, shapely legs wearing the new boots ... Time seems to pass more slowly ... The woman's movements seem like a natural ballet. She has sweetness in the gestures of each

step...Passion is renewed every moment when the heart is in sync to do something with those you love! She turns with her left hand on her chest and her right arm extended, still with the brush to clean the horses in her right hand, in a dance gesture, with her eyes closed, she takes a step ... another step...Jack already takes off his gloves and strides to his wife ... The man's eyes are bright, his face can't help but smile, he touches her waist as if he touches a piece of his own heart. The sound of that song seems to be synchronized with love taking shape in that junction between man and woman! The two dance smoothly, as the music asked ...

The song ends. Judy nestles her head on her husband's chest for a brief moment ... she gently passes the tip of her tongue between her lips ... but before reaching her lover's lips, she is stroked on his face and chin, had his wish fulfilled! The two kiss as if it were the first time ...

And Jesse? He has already gotten used to those moments. He doesn't even seem to notice when the father kisses the mother! He stays there doing his job well in advance, leaving the Pearl, the black horse, much brighter!

Later, at 5 pm...

On the same Saturday night, local families gather in a park set up a few kilometers away ... Children running ... candy vendors ... betting booths, target shooting ... "Hit and win a bear stuffed animal or a doll "! A bank owner shouts "hit the target". While another one shouts: "test your strength on the high striker" ... And, of course, the ferris wheel seems to be the "leader" of the toys, above the embers, carousel ...

People of all ages: couples of lovers ... Couples with babies ... More couples with little ones holding the hand of their parents ... Laughter and more laughter ... People talking at the same time in a coming and going of people without end! It seems that the simple fact of being there is already the reason for all those smiles!

In days before Judy's belly grew, the Vegas family really liked to get there on their mounts, as a good part of the community did! But thanks to the little life growing up in Judy, that old red van finally gets a "chance" to prove its worth and is pulled out of the ranch garage. The Ford had belonged to old Thomas Vegas. Jack had worked hard to buy it and give it to his beloved bride. She loves to drive that old machine. Only she can get the "damn" red! Judy starts the vehicle and maneuvers the vehicle, leaving it ready to continue its journey when it is stopped, by the always careful Jack, coming with Jesse:
