Chapter 68 - Jagger Bolton

Jagger POV

“Jagger, you have Donna Johnson on the line,” Janet says through the intercom between my office and her desk. I let out a breath closing my laptop and answering the phone.

“Donna, what can I do for you?” I ask. I am not the type of person to go around having chit-chat. I have always been cordial with Donna, but we don’t really have a lot in common. She is more of a social worker case. She likes pro bonuses and cases that won’t get her anywhere. She was never money-thirsty.

“Jagger, thank you for answering; I know you are a busy man,” she says. I sit back in my chair, closing my eyes for a few seconds, waiting for her to continue, but she stays silent.

“As you said, Donna, I am a busy man,” I let out through greeted teeth. I have nothing against her, but the fact that she is wasting my time is starting to annoy me.

“I would like to sit with you; I need a lawyer,” she says, and I frown, sitting back up on my chair. Now, she’s piqued my interest. “I wouldn’t be contacting
