Chapter 11 - Calliope Flores

Callie POV

"We need to celebrate," Carson says, wrapping his arms around my waist and spinning me around like a lunatic. The preliminary hearing went well. I asked Donna if I could stay outside, and she said yes, so I took the opportunity to stay away from all that testosterone. Rachel was right when she said there were too many good-looking people in one room; it even made me feel self-conscious about myself and how I was pretending to be something I was not.

The court case will begin in less than two months, and the anxiety is increasing as we now have a date; I can't even begin to understand how I am supposed to keep my head above water with all the attention this case is having. Two more girls are joining the court case against Judge Julio Rover. Donna and Cornelius are gathering all their stuff, and I hope this helps my case.

"Where are we going?" I ask as I look at Rachel, who chews on the side of her finger. I frown as I look at her. Her eyes glued on the screen of her phone.
