CHAPTER 01

"Lever, where will you enroll in college?" Kaycee asked Lever.

Lever looked at his friend Kaycee. Lever has been friends with Kaycee for a long time since he entered high school, now they are both going to college and there are still together. 

Lever shifted his gaze to the road. They were walking home because Lever was commanded by his mother to buy vegetables for Lever's Mama ingredients, Lever's mother making a dish for him.

"Swonne University, if I can pass the entrance exam," Lever replied to the question of his friend Kaycee.

"I am also taking an exam to Swonne," Kaycee happily said.

Lever smiled when he saw his friend smile. Lever Winchester has been in love with Kaycee for a long time, he just doesn't admit it because it might ruin their friendship, and also Kaycee had a boyfriend so he can't do anything with her friend. 

"I heard there are a lot of handsome people in Swonne," Kaycee said as Lever lost his smile when he heard his friend said. 

There's a lot of guys there better than him.

Lever looked down so Kaycee couldn't see that his smile had disappeared.

"Then you'll enroll there even more as the number of handsome people increases," joked his friend.

Lever didn't react to that, he didn't want to be told by the handsome man because the people might think he was arrogant. Lever raised him a humble, kind, and helpful son by his mother.

"I'll bring you to your house," Lever change the topic. 

He doesn't want to talk about his appearance. He felt ashamed of that.

The two stopped walking because they were in different directions, Lever was straight and Kaycee was on the right.

Kaycee turned to Lever while Kaycee shook her head. "No, thanks. Maybe Aunt Xyra needs that," he refused in response to Lever's offer.

Lever just nodded to Kaycee. "Be careful, I'll just call you later," Lever said.

"My friend is a very gentleman," Kaycee said happily while messing Lever's hair.

One of the things Lever really doesn't like is that others touch his hair because he takes a few minutes to fix his hair, but Kaycee even if she messes up his hair, Lever doesn't care.

"Don't worry, I'll be careful for you," Kaycee said smiling, simultaneously winking at Lever.

Lever responded with a smile. Kaycee started to walk away from Lever. Lever still doesn't leave his position and his gaze follows Kaycee who is walking away from him.

When Lever lost sight of his friend Kaycee, he also started walking towards their house, carrying the vegetables he had bought from a market that his mother had ordered.

Lever is an only child, he didn't know his father because his mother told him that his father died in a car accident. Lever's life is normal, it's not too rich and it's not too poor.

Whenever Lever asks about what happened to his father and who his father really is, Xyra always changes the topic.

When Lever arrived in front of their house it had a black gate. He went in and went straight to the kitchen to hand the vegetables he bought to his mother.

"All right, Secretary Luke, I'll just wait for Lever to get home."

Lever caught up with Xyra Cy, his mother who was talking on the phone. He sat down and placed on the dining table the plastic bag he was holding with only vegetables.

Lever's Mama Xyra is busy stirring Xyra's cooking while someone is talking on the phone.

Xyra put down her phone and continued stirring the soup she was cooking.

"Who is Secretary Luke?" Lever asked his mother.

Xyra turned to her son in shock, Xyra touched her chest because of her son's sudden speech.

"You came quietly," Xyra said to her son Lever.

Lever stood up to approach his mother. He crossed his arms and looked at his mother seriously.

"Don't tell me, Ma, that Secretary Luke is your boyfriend?" Lever asked his Mama Xyra.

Xyra suddenly laughed at her son's question.

"You'll get to know him when he comes here," Xyra explained to her son.

Lever frowned at what his mother had said. "So your boyfriend?" repeated Lever's question.

"He's coming here to pick you up," Lever replied.

Lever looked at his mother in surprise at what she had said to him.

 "What do you mean I'll be picked up?" Lever asked.

"Don't you want to know who and what your Dad's personality is?" Xyra asked Lever.

Xyra approached her son Lever and held his hand. "And what I told you before when you were young? that you were too young to know the truth, now that you're eighteen years old, I think you're ready," Xyra explained.

"But why would Secretary Luke take me?" Lever asked.

"Because this isn't your world," Xyra immediately answered the child's question.

Xyra knows that Lever already wants to know about Rifle Winchester, his dad, but Xyra wants him to be ready to find out who Rifle Winchester really is and who Lever Winchester really is. Lever's personality cannot be developed, especially since it hides the true identity of his father.

Lever's face was confused as he looked at his mother.

"Mom, how come this isn't my world?" Lever asked his mother.

"You're going to Manila to study there," Xyra replied to Lever.

"But, I'm okay at Swonne University," Lever said.

"It's nice there ..."

"But, you're here," Lever said quickly.

"Your life is in Manila, Lever, listen to me," Xyra explained to Lever.

Lever couldn't understand his mother why she still wanted to send him to Manila even though he was okay here. If he wasn't passed for the school he would go to, then it's okay for him to do whatever Xyra gives him, so he doesn't have to go to Manila anymore.

"Mom, how is my life there? My house is here and you are here," Lever replied.

"No, you're different than you think you are," Xyra added.

Xyra turned to Lever. Lever thinks about how he became different, he lives normally with her, there is no pain or anything strange in his body.

"Mom, it's just me Lever, nothing else with me," Lever said to his Mom with her back to him.

"Lever Winchester," Xyra said once in front of her son.

She looked her son in the eye with a trace of confusion on his face. He walked closer to Lever again and touched his cheek.

"You're not in the world yet, but you've already planned to go to the place where you're supposed to grow up."

Lever was even more confused by what his Mom was saying.

"What is there in Manila?" Lever asked.

Xyra smiled at him. "This is all I want to tell you, don't make any trouble that will hurt you," Xyra said.

She didn't even answer the question of her son who was confused by what happened, but she knew that all his son's questions would be answered when Lever arrived in Manila.

"Get your things ready because secretary Luke might be here," Xyra told Lever.

Xyra arranged the child's hair as she always did. "Why is your hair messy?" she asked Lever.

Lever, on the other hand, is still watching his Mama because he has no idea what's going on.

"All right, fix your stuff," Xyra ordered.

She turned Lever around unwilling to move and pushed him slowly to go to his room. Lever didn't do anything because of his mother's order.

When he went to his room, he noticed the expensive things that came to him every time he had a special day. He doesn't know where or to whom all those things came from.

He doesn't touch those things and stays where they are.

He sat on his bed and was still thinking about going to Manila. He also wondered why he had to go there. He lay down on the bed because of Lever's confusion.

"What is there in Manila and with Papa?" this weak question to himself.

"Secretary Luke!"

Lever immediately got up from lying down when he heard his mother's voice.

"How are you?" asked one man from outside Lever's room.

He immediately walked out of the room to see who it was. A man who looked like he was forty-plus years old bowed to her mother, wearing it too formal, because of the tuxedo he was wearing even in the extreme heat of the weather.

Lever bowed a little as secretary Luke shifted his gaze to Lever. Secretary Luke gave Lever a big smile when he saw Lever.

Lever was surprised when Secretary Luke came in front of him to half bow to him.

"Sir, no need," he begged Luke as he bowed in front of him.

Lever looked at his mother who was staring at them. Lever is not comfortable with what Luke did because he is not used to someone doing that to him.

"He looks like Sir Rifle," Luke said cheerfully, to Xyra.

Luke looked at Lever carefully from head to toe and there was no doubt that he was the son of his former boss because he looked like Lever.

"But it looks like you've got the attitude," Luke added to Xyra.

Xyra laughed at what Luke said to her. Luke faces Lever again who is still wondering who the man in front of him is.

"Who are you?" Lever asked Luke.

"I'm Luke Espiritu, Chairman Ramond Winchester's Secretary ... Your Grandpa Ramond," Luke explained to Lever.

Lever has no idea who the person he's talking is even his dad isn't fully known.

"Eat first, Secretary Luke," Xyra said to Luke.

"Thank you, but I need to pick up Lever because President Snipe and President Uzi are waiting for him," Luke explained to Xyra.

Lever looked at his mother because of what he heard. It was obvious from Lever's appearance that he didn't want to go.

"It's necessary," Xyra said because she knew her son.

Xyra knows even Lever won't speak if he doesn't want or wants the thing or what's happening here.

"You have to come along, if you're still confused now your godparents will explain to you what's going on," Luke calmly explained to Lever.

"All right, Lever, fix your things," Xyra ordered.

"I'm sorry again, but all Lever's necessary belongings are in sir Rifle's condominium, just get dressed," Luke explained.

"You probably know president Snipe's behavior," Luke added with a soft laugh.

Xyra nodded in agreement with Luke.

"All right, Lever," Xyra said.

Xyra walked over to Lever and pulled him into Lever's room.

"He will help you when you go to manila," Xyra replied to her son.

"Take a bath and I'll pick up the clothes you're going to wear," Xyra said.

Lever even wanted to appeal when Xyra pulled him to the bathroom. The young man couldn't do anything just to follow his mother because he knew that Xyra wouldn't tempt him, even if he didn't want to go to Manila, he would also go there because of his father.

As Mama Xyra said, he will study there so he will just focus on studying everything.
