Blood dripped to the ground below as the world seemed to stop.
Jai stared at the two unknown men beside him. One of them was wearing ragged outfit. He was dirty and bummer looking, shaking, and fear was visible in his eyes as he stared at the other man in front of him. The other man, a young man, who was standing between Jai and the bum, was fairly familiar with his flame-style brown hair and neat looking appearance.
The young man’s hand was holding a knife. No, the correct description would be that his palm was stabbed by a knife that it went through from one side to the other. That would’ve hurt like hell, but the guy who was stabbed didn’t even wince or flinch. Instead, the young man glared at the hooligan and held the man’s hand tightly, not intending to let go.
“Claude?” Jai whispered in surprise.
Claude turned his head slightly and his eyes locked onto Jai. The same sharpness that Jai saw in their last meeting was
“Thank you, Jai-san. You may visit Claude-san in three days, and if there’s anything happening to Claude-san, we will notify you immediately.” Said the nurse in the A wing receptionist after Jai had filled in the form for Claude.Jai nodded. “Thanks.” Then he turned around to the Akamine brothers. “Alright, we can go now.”“Jai-san, your scarf’s down.” Yuta reminded, immediately helping Jai with the scarf from behind.“Ah, thanks.” He noticed the people in the lobby were looking at him and that was sure because his scarf down. But he didn’t feel like talking to other people right now and he wanted to get out from there to avoid making commotion. “Let’s go, Yuta, Ruta.”The two boys agreed and immediately left the place. There were some people that followed them to try and talk to Jai, but Yuta helped him turn them down and told them that they really needed to g
While waiting for the sun to set, Jai and Darrion rested at their room while reading some newspapers they requested from Hinako. Around dusk, Jai bathed Shoru. It would be a bit risky for her health to bathe her again today since she had her bath just the day before. But Jai remembered the doctor said that her kind lived in the mountains where it’s cold. He thought she just needed something to cool her off due to her blood, so another bath would at least be alright.Besides, she kept staying around the pond outside of their room and playing with the water. The pond was deep enough for her to drown, so giving her a bath would be a better option.A knock came to their door when Darrion was drying the little one, and Hinako’s voice spoke behind it. “Ano… Brother Jai and Brother Darrion? This is Hinako…”Jai put on some clothes before opening the door. “Yes, Hinako-san?”“Etto, are you expecting s
Baji hummed after Jai had explained about Alex’s kidnapping. “I see… Alright. I think I understand more of this case.”“You do?” Jai looked at him with slight hope.“Not really.” Baji answered immediately. Both Jai and Darrion almost fell from the chair cartoonishly.“But I know some places we can search into, and that’s not far from what I’ve predicted. That’s why I brought Arata here.” Baji pointed at Arata.Arata hummed. “You’ve only invited me into this. You said, ‘Hey Arata. Come with me. We’re having dinner with our blonde little brother’. I have not been briefed of anything about whatever this is~” The senior windlet sang. “Oh our food’s here.”At the same time, a waiter and waitress came with a tray of food each. They put the foods on their table and after they have left, the conversation continued whil
The next day was the first day of a new week, a Monday. And Jai had promised Haku that he would train him. But since the little boy would be still at school in the morning, Jai and Darrion went to the southeast windlet branch to kill some time.Baji had told them they would need some help anyways, so there they went.“Baji had told me what happened, and I have signed you two in our branch for temporary windlet helpers.” Gilbert told them, showing them two papers with their names on it in universal characters.“What is this paper and how does it work?” Jai asked as he looked at the paper on the counter.Gilbert smiled. “It’s a permit for you two. And it works as, well, official authorizations for you to accept requests in this windlet branch. Now you can take the request on that board over there.” He pointed to the board across the counter on the other side of the room.Jai looked surprised. “We can?&r
Haku put his books in his bag and waited until Teacher Komatsu stars the prayers.“Are you all done, children?” Komatsu asked. He was wearing simple clothes today. Starting from his brown working shoes, dark trousers, plain white shirt with many animal stickers on his front and back… The four-eyed teacher was smiling happily and didn’t seem like he was disturbed at all by the stickers on his top. And he wasn’t. This was a usual act done by him to help the children relieve some stress in the first day of the week.Besides, those were only stickers and could be pulled off easily. So he wasn’t at loss. The children shouted ‘Yes, teacher’, but there were still some of them who were shuffling books inside their bags. But they looked like they’re almost done, so he clapped his hands with a smile. “Well then! Let’s start praying!”He led the prayer. They prayed to the Great Fire Dragon of t
Jai stopped at the gate and parked the bike. “Wait here.” He said to the boy.Haku got off the bike and waited there on the street of this certain neighborhood. People were walking in the street, there were also some children playing tags… He didn’t really know where this is. He had never been here before. But he trusted Jai, so he waited there with Shoru.Jai entered the place and immediately greeted the receptionist. “Daisuke-san!”Daisuke was busy stacking some cards when he was startled by Jai, resulting in his castle of cards to fall off since he accidentally pushed one of it. He moaned in slight disappointment as he looked at his stack of cards that were now lying on the counter and floor.“Oof, sorry.” Jai apologized. He took the cards on the floor and put it on the counter.“Oh it’s okay, Jai-san.” Daisuke waved with a smile. “Just spending my time. It’s so borin
Two days later, in the morning.“Come on Kiyo-chan. Do it again. The flowers can cry seeing your water display.” An elderly woman in orange yukata said calmly.A girl in front of her, probably in her late teen, huffed. Sweats rolling down her face and her training clothes ruffled. “But I’m tired, grandma.”The elderly woman waved her index finger. “No, no, no. It’s only half an hour. Come on, young lady. The Komatsu girls must be strong.”Kiyo, the girl, sighed and rolled her eyes. “But the men are the ones usually out for a hunt. Not the girls.”“And you just want to let the patriarchs take control of this family more than they have? No. I will not have it in my family. By being strong, you can stand up to men and prove them that women can also kick some ass.” The old lady said confidently.Kiyo’s lips twitched downward, unamused. “Don’t men love meek
The group of four walked in the hallway of the Komatsu residence and stopped at a certain door.Rio knocked on the door softly. She faked a cough and called. “Haato-kun, it’s me Grandma Rio. I’m coming in.” Then she opened the door. But there was no one in the room.“He’s not here.” Rio said.“Then where is he?” Fu asked. Both of them looked at the only young man in the group. “Sen? Where’s Haato-kun?” Rio asked.Sen the in-law blinked a couple times before he stuttered. “He umm—Uhh, lately, Ishida-san has been coming over and asked about him a lot. She came here today, m-maybe she took him with her?”The three elderly stared at him. “Okay. But where?” Fu asked. “I don’t know who this Ishida-san is. You might want to—”“Oh Ishi-chan likes to bake. Maybe she brought him to the kitchen. Why don’t we g
