The doctor rolled the bandage over the toddler’s left arm. “Just a little bit more, Hiroto-kun! You are doing very well,” she praised the toddler.
The toddler sniffed with tears-stained cheeks but did not say anything. The boy had been taken to the nearby school’s infirmary, and fortunately, the boy was only suffering from minor cuts.
His mother was beside him, holding him softly while the doctor was doing her job. After it was done, the doctor stood straight, making her ponytail bobbed slightly, and clapped her hands. “Well done, Hiroto! Now it won’t hurt anymore! Just make sure to be careful when moving your arms… Also, I’ve put some ointments on your face to reduce the pain,” the doctor pointed to his cheeks that had two, big sized bandages along the side of his face. “Please be careful in your play next time, alright?”
The toddler nodded hesitantly. “Yes.”
The mother picked
“Before we start, let me introduce myself and my teachers. My name is Shino Akutagawa,” the principal introduced himself. “They are two of the teachers in this school, Kido Tadahira and Aru Komatsu,” gesturing to the bulky teacher beside Jai and the teacher wearing glasses who was standing between Haku and the ponytail girl. Both men inclined their heads in response.“And these students are from Komatsu-san’s class,” gesturing to the children in the room before turning to them again. “You may introduce yourselves or not, young men. We will not disclose anything to anyone. What is discussed in this room, stays in this room.”Jai and Darrion looked at each other for a few seconds before both of them nodded at the same time. Jai then lowered his scarf. “Hello. My name is Jai and this is my friend, Darrion.”Darrion nodded. “Nice to meet you.”Their introduction instantly got
The walk to the class was very quiet and awkward. Haku didn’t feel really bad in the end because he wasn’t blamed for attacking Jiro, because Jiro was the one pushing him to do that. But the principal was right, he should’ve reacted better than throwing ice lance at his classmate in the midst of anger. He then felt a pat on his shoulder, turning his attention to his female classmate beside him.Niina stared at him. “You okay?”Haku pulled his lips into a flatline. “Better.”Niina smiled, saying, “That’s good. Sorry I can’t do much,” to which Haku replied with a gentle nod.Komatsu watched the two of them with a warm look. ‘Haku is not a bad boy. He’s quite brilliant if only he doesn’t absent a lot. It’s just a matter of calming his heart with him,’ he thought as he watched his white haired student from behind. Then he looked at his other student who had
The substitute class was fortunately, not boring. Darrion had thought that it would be boring since Jai had to translate what he’s saying a few times. But it actually went quite well in his part as his part was only theoretical. After his speech about him having to be actively flying in order to rescue Jai who had fallen from a cliff because the thunder boy had just tried to fight a big lizard, Jai took over with fighting tips that got the children’s excitement to stay.Jai gave them demonstration, using Darrion as a dummy. He didn’t punch the windlet for real, but the windlet faked in quite dramatically and earned laughter from the children. When the school bell rang, they wrapped it up with short element review and Jai showing off his thunder to them. The principal came not long after, and stopped their class. “It’s lunch time. We have prepared some food for you two, Jai-san, Darrion-san.”“Oh we actually
They entered the tea shop, which name was actually what Darrion had said, the Pao-Pao Tea Shop. This one was traditional looking than the Red Ice Parlor that looked slightly into the 20s. It was also smaller than the Red Ice Parlor, but the arrangement of the furniture wasn’t that packed. The floor was made of timbers and the tables were raised slightly to accommodate the ‘sit on ground’ style. The walls were brown with yellow lights decorating its top. It was not that classy, but it was quite leisure looking.Jai brought his friend to sit in the nearest table and the blonde instantly let himself fall to the wooden seating with a soft thud.“Ah… Let me close my eyes for a few seconds, my friend,” Darrion said.Jai chuckled. “Sure. I’ll order us something,” he then looked around to spot the counter, and then walked up to it. As he walked, he was curious just how much energy does his friend spend every
Jai and Darrion hung around across Haku’s school, not trying to be lowkey at all. But they did buy a mask in a nearby store to cover up Darrion’s face. His blonde hair might be a stand out, but this kingdom is a place for different ethnicities. The children in Haku’s school have different hair colors and facial lines. Not all of them looked Asian, or, well, Japanese looking. So it shouldn’t be that rare to see a guy with blonde hair walking around. But they were trying to cover his face because Jai had covered his with his own scarf.Even though they did say they’re trying to spread their influence, ehm, presence, they didn’t hope that would happen to many people. Because that would obviously overwork Darrion, and Jai wouldn’t want to do that to his friend. They had agreed to keep it simple. Jai used his knowledge he learned at his crash course for business school, and he would target the children for their cause. Choosi
The rest of the afternoon went just like the day before. However, due to the parlor having so many customers because of them, they couldn’t send the letters that very same day. There were two windlets visiting the parlor too in one of Darrion’s turn, and when the blonde asked them about the letters, they told him to just come the next day to the branch to send it also meet up with the others. Our lovely windlet overjoyed when he heard that, and he made sure that he would visit the branch nearest to them the very next day. Besides, they didn’t have anything to do other than searching for Alex, and if he could have a talk and make friends with his fellow windlets, they would be inclined to help him in this search.Of course, it is without saying that he would not disclose who Alex is. Just that he’s looking for someone with red hair that’s probably not the Akaito guy everyone had mentioned.Seen from any perspective, asking hel
After some check-ups, with Jai holding the pup for it to allow others to touch it, the wolf puppy was discharged by the doctor’s permission.“Why is it clinging to you?” Darrion looked at the pup climbing up to Jai’s chest.“I don’t know. Maybe it remembers me from our fight?” Jai wondered.“Then shouldn’t she be scared of you since you fought her?” Darrion frowned.“Err… Yeah…” Jai frowned as well. “Now that you said that, yeah, it’s confusing.”It does make more sense for the pup to be scared of him. But the pup didn’t seem like it was scared of him at all, it even hid its snout under Jai’s scarf and closed its eyes, making Darrion reached in to rub her back because of how cute it was being. They then walked out of the chamber and saw Ruta, coming out of a room as well while holding a piece of paper. The boy was wearing the s
After dropping Ruta off at his school, Jai and Darrion backtracked to the hospital and made their way to the southeast part of the town. They’re going to one of the windlet branches in Fire Kingdom.“Our windlet service expands throughout the continent, Jai. So we’re everywhere,” Darrion said, trying to make it sound mysterious.“Like the wind?” Jai smiled while rubbing Shoru’s back softly.Darrion laughed. “Just like the wind!”Darrion seemed very eager in coming to the windlet branch, so Jai agreed to go since he didn’t see the harm in it. He was also considering whether or not he should agree with Darrion’s idea about asking the windlets’ help in the search. It certainly sounds like a big help. And he already ‘asked’ the help of the first customers in Haku’s parlor as well. So maybe…Jai hummed and thought. ‘But… There’s no
