400 - Leaving the school
The substitute class was fortunately, not boring. Darrion had thought that it would be boring since Jai had to translate what he’s saying a few times. But it actually went quite well in his part as his part was only theoretical.
After his speech about him having to be actively flying in order to rescue Jai who had fallen from a cliff because the thunder boy had just tried to fight a big lizard, Jai took over with fighting tips that got the children’s excitement to stay.
Jai gave them demonstration, using Darrion as a dummy. He didn’t punch the windlet for real, but the windlet faked in quite dramatically and earned laughter from the children.
When the school bell rang, they wrapped it up with short element review and Jai showing off his thunder to them.
The principal came not long after, and stopped their class. “It’s lunch time. We have prepared some food for you two, Jai-san, Darrion-san.”

They entered the tea shop, which name was actually what Darrion had said, the Pao-Pao Tea Shop. This one was traditional looking than the Red Ice Parlor that looked slightly into the 20s. Jai and Darrion hung around across Haku’s school, not trying to be lowkey at all. But they did buy a mask in a nearby store to cover up Darrion’s face.His blonde hair might be a stand out, but this kingdom is a place for different ethnicities. The children in Haku’s school have different hair colors and facial lines. Not all of them looked Asian, or, well, Japanese looking. So it shouldn’t be that rare to see a guy with blonde hair walking around. The rest of the afternoon went just like the day before. However, due to the parlor having so many customers because of them, they couldn’t send the letters that very same day.There were two windlets visiting the parlor too in one of Darrion’s turn, and when the blonde asked them about the letters, they told him to just come the next day to the branch to send it also meet up with the others.Our lovely windlet overjoyed when he heard that, and he made sure that he would visit the branch nearest to them the very next day. After dropping Ruta off at his school, Jai and Darrion backtracked to the hospital and made their way to the southeast part of the town. Our two favorite boys decided to stick around the post office because mainly, they got nowhere else to go, and nothing else to do. Those in Takenoko were welcoming either, and he thought that it was just professionalism at first. But their interaction with Gilbert made it seem like it was just a normal thing between windlets to be friendly to others.Even that Mika and Arata didn’t seem to mind that Gilbert invited him and Darrion to their said daily gathering.
