After dropping Ruta off at his school, Jai and Darrion backtracked to the hospital and made their way to the southeast part of the town. They’re going to one of the windlet branches in Fire Kingdom.
“Our windlet service expands throughout the continent, Jai. So we’re everywhere,” Darrion said, trying to make it sound mysterious.
“Like the wind?” Jai smiled while rubbing Shoru’s back softly.
Darrion laughed. “Just like the wind!”
Darrion seemed very eager in coming to the windlet branch, so Jai agreed to go since he didn’t see the harm in it. He was also considering whether or not he should agree with Darrion’s idea about asking the windlets’ help in the search.
It certainly sounds like a big help. And he already ‘asked’ the help of the first customers in Haku’s parlor as well. So maybe…
Jai hummed and thought. ‘But… There’s no
"Why don't you come straight here, Darrion? We can take care of your lodgings, you know," Gilbert said as he continued his envelope stamping. "I didn't know that I can just check in here and you would help me care for the rest," Darrion scratched his head nervously. Mika and Arata had returned to the back room and continued their work, while Jai and Darrion stayed in the lobby to talk with Gilbert. "Sir Carrola didn't tell you that?" Gilbert looked at him with a frown. "Err... " Darrion looked up slightly, as if trying to remember. "I don't think so... Or, maybe he did... But I don't remember?" Gilbert chuckled. "You probably forgot. But I'm surprised that it took you quite long to reach here. What happened on the road?" "Oh you know~ A couple hindrances.... Monsters... All that good stuffs," Darrion answered, not really giving away the truth. Gilbert looked at him funnily. "Monster hazards is good stuff?" Jai chuckled
Our two favorite boys decided to stick around the post office because mainly, they got nowhere else to go, and nothing else to do. When Gilbert mentioned that they’ll be having a gathering here at lunch and share some stories, the two of them were interested. In Darrion’s case was ecstatic, and Jai was rather excited. He really didn’t think that the windlets in the Fire Kingdom would be as welcoming as the ones in Aeronvein. Those in Takenoko were welcoming either, and he thought that it was just professionalism at first. But their interaction with Gilbert made it seem like it was just a normal thing between windlets to be friendly to others.Even that Mika and Arata didn’t seem to mind that Gilbert invited him and Darrion to their said daily gathering. Instead of showing their disinterest, they asked the two of them if they have any food allergies to avoid the foods they can’t eat at lunch later. This was of course, a nice gesture
Jai met two windlets that he had also met at Haku's parlor previously. They were the ones who insisted that Darrion and him visit the post office to meet the others. The first one is an energetic teenage windlet with messy auburn hair while the other is a young man with black hair combed neatly and wears glasses."How do you like our office, Jai? Pretty neat, huh?!" asked the teenage boy windlet that looked like the hat less version of Daichi from Digimon. He was the first one to approach them too in the parlor, and, it was quite an interesting interaction. The boy shook Jai's hand while talking excitedly, unconsciously shaking their hands for a bit too long until the windlet's partner stopped it.And it was currently happening again.Jai chuckled as he let their hands shook longer once again. "It's very neat and comfortable, Harris."Harris grinned. "I'm glad you like it! We want to make it friendly to others, so I suggested to Manager Ishida that
Jai kept his letter in his pocket and followed the windlets to the back room. There was a small hallway on the right side of the work room (the one where Jai was helping before), that leads to the restroom and pantry. The rest of the windlets gathered here, and Jai followed because he was also quite curious of what that was all about. He reached the pantry after the five windlets, and stood at the doorframe while the others flockong over the female windlet with the headband on the pantry's couch."Man. What a rush... How Harris do this everyday is beyond me," Kotori, the female windlet with red headband said as she left herself sink into the couch.Gilbert came over with a cup of water. "Here, have some water."Kotori immediately took the cup and drank the content, sighing in relief after that. "Thanks, Gilbert.""What happened? Who died?" Mika took a seat beside Kotori and looked at her with curious eyes.Jai lowered Shoru into
Lunch quickly rolled in and the whole gang of South Branch Post Office arrived for the daily gathering. It was just like Gilbert had told them.Other than those who had been introduced, there was another addition, named Raul. He was a kind young man with curly hair and a bright smile. His skin was darker tan and he had big onyx eyes filled with mirth. He was also wearing Shouha themed windlet uniform which comprised of light brown shirt for tops with two pockets on the chest. He was also wearing ¾ sized pants in dark brown color which ends were slipped into a pair of dark brown boots. His outfit was the same as Darrion, minus the ¾ sized pants and boots, as Darrion was wearing a pants that’s just slightly past his knees and he kept his lightweight shoes.Mika and Kotori also wore this kind of brown themed outfits, but Mika was wearing shoes with short heels. Their outfits were actually simple except two people, Gilbert and Saburo.Othe
"Is this your first time in Shouha, Jai? Do you need a guide?" Harris smiled brightly.Jai nodded. "Yes, it's my first time. And, yes, probably, hehe... But I just want to find this friend of mine first before going anywhere else.""There are dozens of redheads from the Akamine clan. Not to mention those who had married their main and branch family members and had children of their own," Saburo said.'Akamine? Isn't that Ruta's surname?' Jai thought, feeling the familiarity. And he wasn't the only one who thinks that way.Hearing the familiar surname, Darrion turned to Jai. "Hey, isn't that Ruta's brother... I mean, his and his brother's surname?"Jai nodded at him. "Yes. But Ruta's hair is lighter orange. Is it possible to have the same surname but comes from different family?""That's not possible," Saburo answered. "The 10 guardian clans are a kind of uhh... Exception, from the society. No family should name their children with their surn
Jai took two requests under Kotori's name. It shouldn't be possible for him to take these requests by himself, that's why Kotori was the one accepting it. She would also be the one supervising him for the job.Darrion had left with Harris and Saburo, going around the neighborhood and familiarizing himself with the turf. Since they would be here until they find Alex, they figured they had to make some money to sustain their living situation. That uncertain deadline also reminded Jai of his stay permit, as he had to renew it in two weeks."Or was it a month?" Jai muttered to himself as stopped in his track while holding a pot of budding pink flower."What is in due next month?" Kotori looked up from her activities of trimming a fern."Erm, my stay permit. I forgot if it's due next month or in two weeks," Jai replied. He put the pot beside the one Kotori was doing. "What is this flower called again?" he asked, pointing at the pink bud he just carried.
The inside of the mansion was filled with many kinds of furniture. Antique painting decorated the walls, also some wooden sculptures of beasts and human silhouettes. There were also jars with different sizes and various paintings on its surface. They passed several hallways, with more expensive things displayed which Sen could only drool for. It was something to be envy of, but then again, Sen didn’t expect any less from one of the Guardian clans. They ‘are’ the most successful families in the kingdom, and the ones that control this kingdom. Of course, their home would also be filled with things that fit their status and position.Seeing the antique looking furniture and paintings in this house eased him a bit from his nervousness he felt before he walked in. He studied art and history in the past, and seeing old paintings like this always calms him down. But then his eyes then caught the sight of a certain painting that made his breath hitched
