Jai, Darrion, and Hayate, plus the puppy, were teleported to an area around five hundred meters from the gate. They were not in the main road, but they could see the border in the distance, on the hill. Since the wall or the border was high on the hill, they could see that the walls were also built inside the trees, with the ones in the trees acting as towers of sort. Because there could be seen some window like holes on the tree barks, specifically built in different positions so that it can look over different directions in the forest.
“We look forward to meet you again, Jai, Darrion, and Claude!” the three of them could hear the faeries’ voice echoed around them. But their form was nowhere to be seen.
Darrion chuckled. “They’re so cute.”
Jai smiled. “Yeah…” rubbing softly at the sleeping puppy in his arms.
Claude looked around the area they were in. “Hmm… They brought us to the angle w
They immediately took the puppy to the clinic and get it treated. The hospital was not only a hospital for humans but also for lesser monsters or pets. Although the wing for people was still bigger than the pet wing, it still accepts services for pets.Jai and Darrion was immediately taken to the left wing where it was for pets, and they lined up with three other people who was lining up to get their pet checked.Jai was actually quite restless and wanted to get out of here to look for Alex. The windlet was already tapping his foot on the floor after only waiting for three minutes, indicating that he was, too, eager to just run around and looking for information. Jai tapped his friend on the shoulder, earning a glance of mild annoyance, but Jai smiled at him and made him sigh slightly in defeat through the nose.“It’s only for a couple of minutes,” Jai assured. Darrion nodded and looked towards the doctor’s door again. His foot tapping di
Jai and Darrion left the hospital eagerly. Outside of the medical place, their heads immediately looked around to take in the sight and decide what their next step would be.“So… The doctor and the guard said that this place is Shouha. Yet I heard that it’s Pyre… something kingdom. Which one is true?” Jai asked.“Both are true. Shouha no Kuni is what they were originally called, meaning the country of Dried Leaves. The Pyreblair Kingdom is the new name given by the Central Region after the war to make their name more universal in the other kingdom’s tongue,” Darrion explained, still looking around.“Why?” Jai asked.“Because their language is the different one. But after a prompting in the peace treaty as the losing side, they have to abide the new rule where they have to make the universal language their main language. So everyone here, mostly, now can speak the language we speak every d
Darrion led the both of them to a road eight hundred meters away to the north of the hospital. It was a Y crossing and there were many stores opening up here. There was a restaurant, a tea shop, several clothing stores, and others, possibly also a snack shop.“Oh my, I feel the business and busy-ness of this place. It was like walking to the marketplace but it’s a passing road and not situated as marketplace,” Jai commented on the situation.Darrion’s eyes scanned the place to look for the inn he knew from his information gathering back in Aeronvein, and saw a big maroon building with white walls as its outer wall and circle shaped wooden door. There were two people standing guard outside of the circle wooden door, but they weren’t wearing the same guard outfit like the guards back at the forest’s border. He instantly regarded them as not the official military guards.“So, where are we going next?” Jai asked.
“Hey Jai,” Darrion called when they were unpacking. The blonde had yet to start unpacking because he was more interested in the room interior.“Hm?” Jai replied.Like ordinary Japanese house, this inn was also Japanese styled which means it has no bed. There were only futons here, and Jai knew they were stored in the wardrobe in this room which was the double doors that was across from the shelf in the left wall. There was another double door across from the door that led to their room, and this was surely the one that leads to the garden where the pond would be.Jai recognized this setting due to the many Japanese animation that he had watched in the past, but the same could not be said to Darrion. And that was why the windlet was kind of confused when he entered the room and noticing no bed in sight.“There’s no bed in here. Where are we going to sleep? And didn’t we order two rooms?” Darrion asked. He loo
Jai and Darrion sat around the coffee table near the garden as they continued their talk. They had put away their clothes in the drawer by now, and they kept their bags inside the small closet where the futons are kept.“What did Erietta say?” Jai moved to open the door beside them so they could get a refreshing view of the pond while they were talking. This gave Claude an opportunity to listen in on their conversation from behind the hotel’s outer wall. He was leaning leisurely outside, in the street, munching on a freshly baked sweet potato he bought a few minutes before from an old man who had just passed by him with a crate full of baked sweet potatoes.Following them for these past days had made him realize the guys’ real reason of taking the journey. He had heard it from their conversation these few days, and he had to admit that they were doing a noble thing for a distraught old man.Yes, even Claude caught the name of the d
As Darrion took his nap, Jai went to the lobby. He met with the guy, Dai, and the girl, Hina, at the receptionist’s desk who seemed to discuss something about food. Hina immediately noticed him when he appeared from the hallway, and she immediately jumped from the desk.“Are you really Jai from the Wind Kingdom?!” she appeared in front of him, slightly startling him.“Hina-chan!!” Dai immediately ran over and pulled her. But she struggled against him and stood where she was, looking at Jai with determined eyes.“You’re Jai Waetford, right?! The third winner of the Wind Kingdom’s tournament?!” Hina asked energetically.Jai smiled and nodded. “Yes, I am,” he answered.Hina stared at him with wide eyes as she also gasped. “You are? T-Then that blonde guy from before is… Darrion, also the winner from the tournament?”Jai nodded and Hina seemed to brightened up v
The orange light of the late afternoon shone from the right side as Jai let his feet strolled by the dirt road outside of the inn compound. He had started calling it that way because he didn’t know what that neighbourhood was called. And compound because he felt like it.He didn’t think it would be this late when he came out. It was almost dusk by now, and just in half an hour, or maybe a full hour later, the moons would replace the sun. He was slightly disappointed that he couldn’t search for Alex full time today, as he had just arrived. But he would enjoy this short free time while he could, because after this, he felt like he wouldn’t be able to enjoy his time again. He didn’t know why he felt that way, he just did. When he passed by an old woman walking with a cane, he remembered that granny who brought them here. The old lady whom he passed wasn’t the same, but he kind of want to meet her again because she seemed a very n
“Aah…” Darrion exhaled satisfyingly. “This tea is very nice~” he muttered lovingly, looking at the wooden cup in his hand that was filled with steamy dark lime colored water. “It’s not as sweet as mom’s blue tea, but this taste is very nice to clean my palate from the bean bread… What did that guy said this tea is again?”He was enjoying his nap when he heard shufflings in the room. He instantly opened his eyes to catch Daisuke putting a tray of tea on the coffee table he was lying under. The guy apologized for waking him up, but he let it slide especially after he saw some complimentary snacks beside the teapot. He immediately helped himself to the complimentary drinks and food, and glad that the flavor was quite a match to his taste. Firstly, he ate the bread stuffed with sweet bean paste, which he loved immediately. He finished that before pouring himself a cup of tea from the teapot. He was quite curious
