Alex woke up to the feeling of warmth and the scent of baby oil. He knew he was currently tucked in a bed, and that means he’s indoor. He was sure because the noises weren’t that much compared to when he was held in the barrel, and the fact that there’s a smell of baby oil couldn’t possibly mean anywhere else than a loving home.
‘Unless it’s just a front and they make the room smells like this to lower my guard,’ he thought to himself. He wanted to scoff. ‘They might be nice, especially the big guy. But they’re still my kidnapper. I’m not falling for this.’
There’s a sound of people talking in the background. He couldn’t hear it clearly at first, but as his senses returned to him, he could hear bits and bits that they were talking about him, although faintly.
“…the boy?” a heavy but soft voice asked.
Then he heard Hayate’s voice said. “Oh he’
The woman came back with a chicken porridge, a warm water, and a small cup of medicine that she insisted he should drink. While she tended to Alex, Karu took the chair and sat at the end of the bed with Baby Nawa.“This is to cure your fever,” the woman said while rubbing Alex’s head softly.“I’m having a fever?” he asked as he touched his own neck, finding it to be burning. ‘Wait, I actually feel a bit warm,’ he realized. “But why don’t I feel it when I’m waking up?”The woman nodded. “Yes, you are. You were burning hot. And it’s probably the adrenaline in your body. Your friend told us you suddenly passed out, so I think your body still thinks you can still go on.”That explained why he didn’t feel burning up before, just slight warmth. He thought that was the blanket covering him and Baby Nawa. Maybe the baby was also a bit fussy because it can feel his hand
Hayate’s group and Alex spent the night at the Aikawa’s. Hayate slept in the guest room near Alex’s with Karu, while Goro slept in the living room’s floor due to how big his body was and per his request. When Hayate was done taking a bath, Karu told him about Alex’s failed attempt of tattletale.“Boy told the mother he was kidnapped,” Karu said in whisper while sitting on a chair, cleaning his ear with an earbud.“And?” Hayate responded while putting on fresh clothes.“She didn’t think it was us,” Karu answered.“Good. We didn’t look like bad guys anyways, cause we’re not. This is one time thing only,” Hayate said. He took his dirty clothes and walked to the door.“Just how much money will we make after this?” Karu asked before he could leave.Hayate held the doorknob, turned his head to the side a bit, and said. “A ruby.”
Alex woke up in the morning to the sight of panties, I mean, diaper. Gurgling sounds could be heard and the sound of Nawaki laughing rang in his ear. He smiled and lazily looked up to Nawaki’s onyx eyes. “Good morning, Nawaki.”Nawaki smiled wider and reached out to him excitedly, risking himself falling from the chair because there’s a bit of distance from the chair and the bed. So Alex reached out to Nawaki’s left side and lightly held him in place. “Careful, Nawaki… You can fall down.”Nawaki didn’t seem to care. The cute baby was delighted to see his new interest had woken up. He patted excitedly at Alex’s hand that was holding him and laughing adorably. Alex sighed. “Do you like me that much?” he made sure the baby wouldn’t fall before sitting up himself. He touched his own forehead and neck, checking his own temperature, and he was glad that his temperature had gone down. He sig
Alex entered the hallway, passing by a room, turning left, and arrived at the living room. There were two men that were already sitting there, one man with auburn hair and a scar on his face while the other was a brunette pulled into a high ponytail and was skinny. Both of them were enjoying their morning tea with a map sprawled on the table between the cups.“You’re awake? How do you feel?” Hayate asked.“Better,” Alex answered simply. “When are we taking off?”Karu smirked. “Why are you a little eager?”“I don’t want to risk this family any longer,” he answered, adjusting Nawaki in his hold.“Good thinking. We’re going to erase something if you don’t cooperate,” Hayate said with a normal tone, as if it was such a normal thing to do.Alex’s face darkened. ‘It’s a good thing I decided not to do it. Or else…’ he didn&
At around the same time, somewhere else near the Fire Border, a blonde haired guy and a black haired guy were walking in a prairie accompanied by a pack of flying stingray like creatures. These creatures’ color was pastel, almost pale orange, and their body was slightly transparent. Their tail was thin and long, kind of a rat’s tail but longer. They also emitted this blobby sounds as their wings moved, making the two humans slightly uncomfortable because it sounded weird.“Jai, can you tell them to stop glowering?” the blonde guy asked.“Didn’t you say that’s how their floating ability works?” the black haired guy replied. The blonde guy sweatdropped. “I said ‘maybe’.”Jai and Darrion seemed to have the knack to adopt/escort something on their journey. The first was wild blue bunnies in Aeronvein’s plains, then the Oliviers or Eggsies in the Poisonous Forest, and then these flyi
The two of them followed the right path which ascended to a hill. The terrain was less rocky now, and the grass also appeared again in their view, but then the road led to another cliff and this one had a waterfall. There were also some flowers now, probably because of the waterfall nearby which supplied water to the area. It was higher than their position, and it was a bit far from them so they were safe from the water pour. There was also a bridge ahead of them that’s slightly to the left, and it connected each side of the cliff and Jai could also see some trees across the bridge.Darrion looked excited and instantly pointed to the waterfall. “Jai! Waterfall”Jai smiled. “Yeah. Wanna look at it for a little while?”Darrion nodded and excitedly flew to the waterfall after Jai gave the green light. It made the black haired guy chuckle but still followed his friend. He stopped at the edge of the cliff, watching over the excite
Jai didn’t know that gorillas can jump skilfully in rocky terrains or a cliff. He only knew goats could do that, like that type of goat that climbs dam to find salt as their source of minerals. He ever watched those goats in the educational channel about animals, and he remembered how he was amazed by the courage they have to actually climb the steep dam just to lick… Well, back then, he only knew they were licking rocks. But he thought that they were the most daredevil creatures for doing that. But after his encounter with that frightening gorilla, his perspective about who’s the one more daring changed. The gorilla earned it. It was not that big when they saw it from afar, but they were proven wrong when after it skilfully swayed from the rocks one after another, jumped high enough to make Darrion’s eyes popped out of his sockets, and landed on the other side of the cliff they were at. It was actually very big, almost as big as an elephant.D
Jai and Darrion reached the fountain in the middle of the village and entered the item shop nearby.A young woman was tending to the goods. She had her wavy black hair in a long ponytail and was doing some dusting to keep the… Well, dust, away. She stopped when the sound of bells chimed harmoniously, signalling that her door was opened, and went on to greet her customers. “Welcome to Wind Chime Shop! I’m Rin, the shopkeeper. You two must be travellers judging from the bag.”Rin had that innocent but hardworking look on her. Her vibes kind of reminded him of Miria, but she was more straightforward than her. She had the Asian feature on her face, like narrow eyes and short nose, and her face lines. But come to think of it, her name and how she’s speaking kind of reminded him of his Japanese friend. The two of them then smiled at her. “We are,” Darrion answered. “Do you possibly have Monster Repellent?” Darrion
