I’m not sure what reaction I was expecting from the group which had gathered at the bottom of the stairs. But I definitely was not prepared for the silence and wide-eyed stares that I was receiving now. Especially the burning look of longing that Landon was currently throwing my way. Even Drake looked somewhat amazed, even with Alison clinging to his arm. I clear my throat nervously.

“Am I the last one?” I ask fidgeting with a tassel that hung from my shawl, I look about the group, a few new faces hovered in the background, peering at me curiously.

“Yes!” Steph’s annoyed voice called out as her thin frame barrelled through the small group. “But not to worry, it’s bad manners to turn up too early for a party.” She winks at me before grabbing the two nameless guys by the arm and dragging them through the door. Drake and Alison followed with a laugh, leaving me alone with a very sheepish looking Landon.

“You look beautiful Rosie.” His eyes drift over my appearan

The drizzle from the day before has left the ground soft, so each step I took, my stilettoed heel sunk into the ground. I cursed Steph inwardly for her poor choice of footwear, wishing I wore my timberland boots instead, which would have been so much more appropriate. Steph bounded up beside me and grabbed hold of my arm. “Oh my Goddess Rosie, you look like a baby deer taking its first steps.” She laughs at me as I try not to fall face first into the mud. “It’s not my fault, someone decided to make me wear six inch heels to a mud bath.” I replied stonily, as I hold onto her tightly whilst taking a small step forward. “I’m not used to heels at the best of times Steph.” I sigh. “No one would guess, really.” She says, chewing her bottom lip in an attempt to be serious. Before I could take another step forward, I couldn’t help but laugh at her funny expression, twisted between trying to remain impassive and hiding her mirth, her wide eyes

“Rosalie…” the voice called out on the wind. I look around me, trying to catch a glimpse of someone, anyone playing a prank on me. But there was no one. I listened to the sound of the forest, not even the shuffling of a fox on the path, or an owl swooping through the trees could be heard. Not the subtle pounding of a heartbeat or even the level breathing of another living creature. I was alone, of that, I was sure. Yet the voice was real. As real as if the person were stood in front of me right now. The voice was distinctly feminine, mothering even. It washed through me making me feel completely at ease. There was a part of me telling me that I could trust this voice, that it meant me no harm. “Your future awaits you, Rosalie.” The voice calls to me again. I take a tentative step forward, in the direction of where I think it is coming from. Following the sound of the whispers that seem to follow me about. My feet crunch along the well-worn path, litte

I woke up to the worst headache ever, sunlight hitting my face and burning my eyes. I blink trying to clear my vision when I realise that I am still outside and laid out like a starfish on the same altar stone that the voice told me to touch last night. I look about in confusion, wondering what on earth had happened to me last night. I remember following the voice, and I remember the eclipse happing. But after that everything was blank. Pulling myself up from the stone, my dirty feet hitting the earth with a thud. I look about wondering if anyone had thought to come and find me by now. Surely Steph would have realised I was missing when I didn’t return last night. I look towards the hill that the bonfire was on, only to find that the once clear hill, was now completely covered in trees and thrash. Not even the residual smoke drifting in the air that you would usually expect to see the morning after a big bonfire. I rub my temples slowly trying to clear my min

“Oh Goddess, I have time travelled.” I said, out loud. Much to the confusion of the men next to me. They looked at each other in a silent conversation before pulling me forward once again. Obviously looking forward to discarding their charge. Panic surged in me at the crazy through of time travel actually being real, I felt like I was going crazy. But how else can I explain what had happened to me. The sudden appearance of Castle Black. The lack of anyone that I recognised. I was pulled through a busy town centre littered with wooden carts laden with food, and so many omegas it made my head spin. Not even my pack back home had this many wolves in it. Stone huts with thatched roofs lined the busy streets, none of them were the perfect chocolate box houses that I so loved England for. They look little better than hovels. And don’t even get me started at the stench that rose from primitive ditches which lined each side of the street, raw sewage flowing down through the

“Oouff” The air is knocked out of me as my guard unceremoniously shoves into a room and I fall onto a cold floor. The door was slammed shut behind me and an audible click of a key locking the door sounded. Looking around the room I realise that the “chamber” was more of an apartment than anything. I walked forward into a perfectly circular room. Based off of the sheer volume of stairs I had just been forced to climb, I assume that I am in one of the turrets that adorned each corner of the castle. I was stood in a living area. A fire roared cheerily in the stone hearth on the opposite wall to the main door, doing little to offer any real warmth, was enough to take the chill off of the autumn air. Several high back upholstered chairs sat around the fire in a large horseshoe. A dark wooden table and chairs sat pride of place in the centre of the room. There was little in the way of femininity in the room. No trinkets or vases full of flowers. The room was altogether min

I watch his bulky form taking up the doorway, his eyes locked on me. I stand up hastily from the bed, startled by his deep voice and sudden appearance. As I stood, the sudden weight made my legs give out from beneath me. I hadn’t realised how tired I was, my body ached, my feet sore from having walked barefoot for so long. I could feel myself falling to the floor in a heap of sheets and mud. But before I reached the ground, a strong arm wrapped around me and brought me back to my feet. The contact lit an electric current through me like nothing I had ever felt before. “I’m sorry, I just assumed…” I stuttered over myself. His blue eyes peered down at me. He held no expression on his face, the only sign of his humanity being the slow steady thump of his heart through his chest. For a moment, his eyes held mine, his lips only a breath away. My wolf purred at the intimate contact. In that moment I watched as my mate began to bend forward, as if ready to t

The temperature in the room seems to plummet with his departure. I shiver involuntarily, and once again settle back into the blanket. It didn’t take long before a group of omega girls arrived in the apartment and began to set up a bath in front of the bedroom fire. Once the metal tub had been brought in and filled with steaming water, they left with a small bow and closed the door softly behind them. I sink into the water gratefully. Enjoying the heat eradicating the lingering chill in my body. The omegas had scattered some lavender scented oils and flower heads into the water, which only relaxed me further. My eyes began to shut against the exhaustion, as I sank further into the warm depths. Lulled by the heady scent of my mate’s scent and lavender, I began to slip into a deep slumber. My last thought being the steely blue gaze of my mates’ eyes. By the time I woke again, I was no longer in the water. Instead, I had been wrapped up in a thick

There was nothing that I could think that helped to reassure my roiling mind. I had no way to explain how Alexander had come to be in procession of my portrait. Or how it ended up the hidden drawer of his desk. We had never met before, of that, I was sure. So how did he come to have it? It was obvious that he had not looked at the item in question for some time, based off of the amount of undisturbed dust that was gathered there. But it was still there. A shiver ran down my spin, and fear sparked in the pit of my stomach. Had he known I would come this whole time. Was he expecting me to arrive? No surely that couldn’t be the case. He was so cold towards me when we met in the throne room. If anything, he seemed annoyed I was there at all. I twirled the locket in my hand, in concentration. Trying to piece together the pieces or my fragmented mind. There was only one way to settle any of this, and that was to ask Alexander

Some months later… Life had all but returned to normal in Castle Black. After several days of recovery, Alexander had finally found himself once again in full health. And for all of those days, he refused to let me out of his sight. Instead, I found myself bound to his side, forced onto his uncomfortable recovery bed, pressed against him as he caressed the small bump of our unborn child. It seemed that each day that passed by, the small life growing inside me got stronger and before long his tiny kicks could be felt. Alexander knew now that he was to have a son. Something which I already knew in my heart but was confirmed by alexander’s ex vampire lover. A son that not only the history books will record, but Thomas would grow to be one of the most powerful and well-known Black’s in their long history as leaders. He would be the one to see them through to the start of a completely new age. He would be th

“Rosalie.” Alexander murmurs through his sleep. I find myself fighting to pull my eyes open, my temples banging in my head, threatening to bring on the worst headache imaginable. “Alex?” “Rosa. I’m here.” His voiced sounded stronger now. Although still deeply etched with undertones of fatigue. Managing to pull myself up off of the floor, a hand on my head to try and prevent by brain exploding out of it, I find myself at Alex’s bedside once more. Much to my relief to find him alive and well. Opposite me stood a very confounded healer. His glasses askew as he tried to take stock of Alex’s miraculous change. “I don’t know how this is possible. It’s as if all of your side effects have just disappeared. How is this possible.” He murmured to himself whilst inspecting the wound on Alex’s stomach. Although the wound was still very much there, it did at least look better. The harsh red swelling and putrid discharge had abetted, and it look very much as

Alexander Everything around me was cast into darkness. I couldn’t even see my hand before me as I reached out and tried to feel my way out of the darkness. It shrouded me from every corner, the feeling of repression and bleakness sitting heavy upon my chest. No matter which way I turned, there was nothing to be found, nothing to be heard or felt. Just a never-ending pit of helplessness and that there was something missing inside of me. No matter how much I tried to think what I could be missing, I simply couldn’t work it out. In fact, I was struggling to remember anything at all. Nothing really mattered, all that I could find myself caring about was the emptiness, and the feeling of missing something. “Alex.” A voice called out to me through the nothingness. Looking around myself I tried to work out where the voice had come from. It was the sweetest voice I had ever heard, and my heart thrummed

The figure turns towards me with a slowness that chills me to my soul. The mist laying heavily around him so that I could not make out who sits upon the horse. Their leather boot taps the side of the horse gently, pushing the beast to walk forward with impossibly slow steps. Each step closer, only making me even more on edge. “Rosalie?” a voice calls out. My heart stops in my chest, my breathing coming fast. “Shit, they know who we are.” Every inch of my body seizes with fear making it impossible to breath let alone move. Nina’s fight or flight instinct battling within me. She pushes herself to take control, her heightened senses coming into focus as she takes in the figure coming towards us. I turn to make a run for it, only to be held back by Nina. “Will you think rationally for one moment!” she chastises. “Firstly, they are on a horse, there is no way you can outrun them. Secondly, they know who you are

I found myself saddled and ready to ride back to Castle Black within the hour. Having spent moments to ponder what had just happened, I realised that I had no time to waste. It was obvious Veronica’s sudden appearance was no mistake. She was sent by Xavier, just as William had been sent before her. The very fact that she was there at all could only mean that William had failed in his mission. Veronica had been a contingency plan. One that I am sure would also have a plan C. Wolfridge was a hive of day-to-day activity. No one had even been aware of what was happening on the beach below. I was confident that Veronica was not working alone, how she arrived at the secluded beach without anyone noticing was a mystery to me. I could only assume that there were spies amongst us. Both here and in Castle Black. If Veronica knew that William had failed in taking back the werewolf throne, then I would have to assume that so did Xavier. Now that Veronica had also been pu

Veronica Delacour was a name that I definitely hadn’t heard before. I didn’t need to see her clearly to know that the woman standing before me was a vampire. Her mere presence stunk of danger, and the coppery tang of blood hovered over her in waves. Fear spiked in my chest. But I refused to allow her to have an effect on me. I looked the shadowed figure over. “What is it that I have that you could possibly want?” I ask her, silently seeking Nina out from the recesses of my mind. “You have no idea, do you?” She asked me, a sneer evident in her voice. The woman spoke with a heavy accent, accentuating each symbol with a guttural rasp. Her voice was reminiscent of Estelle, only harsher. “No, I don’t, care to enlighten me?” I tried to keep my voice light so as not to show she was having any effect on me. “You poor dear. I almost feel sorry for you.” She took a small step forward and lowered herself onto a rock close by. “How much do you kno

Rosalie It had been a week since we arrived at Wolfridge. And it had been the longest week of my life. For the most part, we had fallen into a routine. But for me, I found myself constantly on edge. We had no way of contacting home. Even the mate bond gave me little comfort. There had been next to no news at all. Bar a few stranglers that had joined us a few days later. The guards that had come with us took residence on the wall that protected us, a constant look out for any sign of danger or a messenger with news from home. Although I could still feel his pull deep in my gut, I physically couldn’t reach him through our connection. Try as I might, the mind-link never seemed to fall into place. And to top everything off, I was now in my ninth week of pregnancy, and I was struggling. The morning sickness was in full swing. My hormones were playing havoc on me. In the

I stood my ground, my feet shoulders width apart as I take in the scene around me. All about me was carnage. Bodies flung lifeless across the battle ground, their life force weeping out from mortal wounds onto the frozen ground. The sound of battle cries echoed through the forest ringing in my ears. Screamed of pain and fear. I was pleased to see that the majority that were scattered around me were rogues and not the men and women of my own people. As much as Silas craved bloodshed, I took no enjoyment out of war, and if there was a way that this could have been avoided, I would much rather take that path. But at the same time my duty remained to my kingdom, and I refused to step aside and allow a dictator to take over. My uncle stood across from me. He chest heaving with each breath he took. His bare chest covered in blood and dirt. I wasn’t sure if the blood was his own or not, but I dearly hoped that it was. “So, Uncle, you have what you came for.
