AUTUMN’S POV

I felt a sort of relief after I went back to my room. My room has always been the safest and happiest place for me in the manor.

Kavan came to my room shortly after. "Autumn,” he called in his soft raspy voice.

I wanted to ignore him; he has a mate now; he should be with her and not me.

“Kavan, leave me alone. You have a mate now, so go and meet her and not come here,” I said, not bothering to look at him; my back was turned away from him.

“Autumn, what are you talking about?” I don't accept her,” he said. “Do not talk like this autumn; you are hurting me with your words,” he continued.

“Why are you here in the first place?” I asked, turning towards him. “Your mate is waiting for you, and you are here. Please just leave me alone,” I said.

“Autumn, why are you acting like this? You are my dad's mate, but I love you, and I am still here,” he said. “My dad brought a mate for me without my permission; I am not accepting her,” he continued.
