Victor Great...

I sat in the large library at my usual table with a new book in my hand that I'm barely reading.

I tried to force my eyes to move over the words on the book but they every really scan then without registering what they mean.

A permanent frown is plastered on my face as I finally slam the book shut and drop it on the large table.

"Why the long face?" Lady Waina asked as she took the seat from across me.

I narrowed my eyes at her. She speaks as if she can actually see me. I don't know how she does it.

"There is no long face Waina." I replied before I tore my eyes away from her cloudy glaze and looked around.

The large library, which is usually divoded of life is now lit up by the three girls Lady Waina was training. I have to say, it was a nice surprise to find out that Frost gave Waina what she had always wanted, a guardian to pass the library down to.

I would have gladly been Waina's successor but no matter how much I love to get lost in a boo

I stood in front of the large book shelf in Barlion's study.Nerves were swarming deep in my stomach as I waited for them to finish preparing for their stupid plan.I can't say enough of how much I disagree with what they're doing and what they plan to do next.It was impossible to make Frost see reason. I tried to stir her away from her plan but she stubbornly refused and knowing that no one was going to be able to wipe the determination out of her, I finally agreed, not that she needed my approval anyway. After Frost had decided that she was going to be in that chamber while my uncles plan her down fall, her hand maids and her had started preparing. While the two were planning with what little time they had, Uncle Jeremy filled me in on how the male royals were taking advantage of the girls who come in to the main castle to work as a handmaid. It baffled me. How were they able to pull this off without my mother knowing?I'd asked Uncle Jeremy that but the man just awkwardly cleared

My first instincts as soon as my mother's eyes zeroed on Frost was to jump up and shield her. But that would be stupid and it will draw attention towards Frost. Not only that but it will also ruin her plan and all of this will be for nothing. So, I forced my shoulders to relax."Fraya Dear." I called out to Frost and she took the opportunity to bow her head and hide her face. "My feet are killing me. Why don't you come and give me a run?"My words earned a few chuckles from my uncles. Even though I know that Frost is not pleased with my order, she's more than happy to kneel down and hide her face.My mother tore her eyes away from Frost before she looked at me. I saw pride reflecting in her eyes and I couldn't stop the confusion from raising."I'm so happy to finally see you hear, Victor." My mother commented. "I was wondering when they would finally invite you to join.""Invite me?""Yes." Uncle Dom replied instead of my mother. "We invited Dorian when he turned fourteen. He was an e

I froze on the seat, my shoulders tense my my hands balled up in to a fist. The second Barlion had stepped in to the Art chambers, the air had stilled and so had the people who were planning his down fall.Barlion traced his dark brown eyes around the room, his face blank from expression and his aura cold as ever. He regarded our three uncles before his eyes settled on me.He didn't spare me a long glance, just stared towards my direction before he continued on to the girls. His eyes finally dropped to Frost, who was looking up at him with wide eyes filled with tears. For most, she looked like she was terrified to be in the presence of the King. But I know better. That look in her eyes is not terror or fear, not when there is longing written all over them.As soon as Barlion's eyes settled on her, the cold demeanor instantly changed. Flames engulfed his gaze and a thick vein swelled at the side of his head.He had his hands clasped behind his back but I didn't have to look at them to

Frost Sorrow...Going to the Art Chambers was not the brightest idea I have had so far. I'd considered going against it multiple time for the few hours we had waited for Midnight.Victor had tried to convince me and I was honestly about to listen to him. But I would take a glance at my husband and I'd remind myself that it was a much needed strategy to know the minds of my enemies. When Victor had left for his chambers to wait until he's be summoned, I sat by Barlion's side. With his right hand in mine, I took the next few hours just whispering things to him.Not important things. Just simple things like the setting sun, the fast approaching cold season... Nothing of importance. When I was about to leave his side, I saw his eyebrows twitch and my heart had stopped beating. I'd cupped his cheeks with both of my hands and called his name out over and over again, thinking that he would open his eyes and look at me. But he didn't.I stayed hovering over him for a few

Barlion Great...I sated down at the papers speared on the dining table. They have case numbers and names along with descriptions. They are obviously court cases but, what are they doing here?I caught movements on the bed at the corner of my eyes and I glanced over my left shoulder to see Frost stretching her arms above her head. She caught my eyes and then playfully glared at me. I still don't know what she did to her eyes to make them dark."You already broke your promise." She said as she swung her legs over the edge of the bed. "You said you'd be here in bed with me."I gave Frost a soft smile before I dropped the guide book on the table and walked over to her. Offering Frost both of my hands, I watched as she slipped her hands in to mine and stand up.Frost immediately wrapped her arms around my waist. "I was just a few feet away from the bed." I argued as my arms snaked around her shoulders but Frost tensed at the contact before she relaxed in my arms,

Frost Sorrow...My entire body was screaming in exhaustion. My limbs were forcing me to sit down on the bed that has been trying to pull me in to for the last hour. After we had filled Barlion about everything that had happened in his absence, the rest of the group had left and Barlion had drawn me the bath he had promised.I'd sat in the warm water, sharing the bath with my husband and I think I'd dozed off. Because, next thing I know Bar was gently shaking my right shoulder and when I woke up, the water had grown cold. Now, a few minutes after leaving the bathroom, I was ready to sleep for a few days straight.I settled down against the bed and before I could close my eyes, Barlion walked in to my vision, wearing his royals clothes and his crown on top of his head.I sat up on the bed to admire Barlion. It felt amazing to finally see him up and ready to defeat the odds.He doesn't even look like he was passed out for weeks. Yes, he'd gotten a bit thinner due to the lack of m

Barlion Great...I stared down at Frost as she dozed off in to a deep sleep. It didn't even take her a full minute.I pushed the few strands of hair falling down her face to the side. She marched in to the council chambers and faced off men who are cunning and intimidating even to most men.She became a King and a Queen all at once, keeping the Kingdom float. How many people can say that they have achieved so much in such little time? Court went on fine.Victor had surprised me by carrying on his responsibility well. The humiliation the three had received was just as exciting.I returned to our chambers and found Sir Shadow still standing by the door.I remembered what Frost has told me.This knight had been so dedicated in protecting her that he had neglected his own health. He had saved her during the King's visit attack and continued to protect her as much as he could."Sir Shadow, You can go get some rest and make sure to return before sun rise." I ordered before I walked in to the chambers. My eyes immediately jumped to the bed and saw that Frost hasn't moved since I last left her after breakfast this morning.I softly closed the door before I walked closer to the bed. Sitting down at the edge of the bed, I watched as Frost stirred but quickly settles back down, blows put a breath and went back to sleep.A small smile stretched against my lips and the tension in my body quickly disappeared.I stayed by her sid

Frost Sorrow... ***One year later***Bar sighed for the fifth time tonight. He laid under the covers on his side with my back pressed to his bare chest, his right hand fingers brushing against my large belly.I couldn't see him but I could tell that he was wide awake. But even if he was awake, I could tell that he wasn't here with me. He was somewhere in his mind.Because if he was here, he would have noticed that the soft strokes of his fingers to my belly were forcing the baby to kick me harder.Placing my hand over his, I stopped the movement."Bar?" I called out but he didn't answer."Bar?""Hmm... Yeah?" He finally replied."Where did you go?" I asked."I didn't go anywhere. I'm right here." Letting put a groan, I pushed myself up to my elbow and dragged myself to a sitting position."Are you worried about tomorrow's wedding ceremony?" Is she real? She has to be, otherwise I will lose it once and for all. I took a small step in to the dining hall, my eyes still trained on her.The conversation in the dining hall had long stopped and I could feel eyes on me. But I didn't dare look back at any of them. If I did, I was too scared that she might disappear.I watched as Frost slowly stood up and walked over to me. Her steps had no hesitation in them, unlike mine. When Frost and I finally stood before each other, all I needed to do was reach out and touch her to know that she's really here.Frost didn't say anything at first. I walked in to the large library o next morning. The gates towards the other entrance of the library was not open yet so it was empty and quite. I walked through the large shelves before I made it to the sitting area.Just as I thought, I found Victor sitting at one of the large tables, looking straight ahead at the displayed book in a glass."Thought I'd find you here." I commented, drawing Victor's eyes towards me before I walked over and sat next to him.Victor returned his eyes to the book.I stared ahead and pride filled me at the sight of the single book placed in the glass.Anyone who came could look at it, admire it but was not allowed to touch it as it was incomplete."The King's Faceless Wife." Watching the first snow fall alone without Frost made me ache. She'd been excited about the first snow. I'd caught her a few times as she was looking out the window, expecting it to fall any moment before she'd gotten hurt. She didn't even get to see it before she left.I don't know how long we stood by the docks. I stared off across the water, wishing her a safe travel. When the people of our Kingdom started flooding the docks, Sir Hunder requested that we should leave. It took everything in me to turn my back to the water and walk back to the carriage.Sir Hunder and Mirra hopped in after Lady Winter did and we rode back to the main castle.Sir Hunder and Mirra were huddled at one side and the head of Nights refused to let her out of his arms. It will take a while to get there so we need to take everything." Lord King commented as he looked back at me.I glanced at Sir Hunder and nodded my head. I had no other words. If They are really going to take my wife then they will have everything they need and more for the journey. Sir Hunder bowed his head before he walked out of the chambers. Lord King and Lady Winter followed after him. Mirra was the last to leave Frost and I alone in our chambers. As soon as the door

That was what's written on the head stone.I read it over and over again. The head stone was made from a large green gem, one found only in our Kingdom. The green gem glows a different shade of color at the contrast of the son, each angel changing color. Our black smith had carved the words in perfect shape and hade covered each letter with black paint so it would be easier to read. The rest of the royals had left a whole ago and I could feel Frost leaning on me. She was tired but she didn't say anything just so I would spend more time with Uncle Jeremy.I let out a sigh before I turned to Frost.
