I stepped in to our chambers before I softly closed the door behind me.

The chambers was no quite, quitter then it was before I'd left to beat the truth out of Dorian. Mirra was sitting by the chair next to the bed with Sir Hunder standing behind her, his hands gently squeezing her shoulders.

Other than the two, no one else was here.

Sir Shadow was standing outside of the chambers, guiding it with his life but Lord Kiza and Uncle Jeremy were no where to be seen.

I dreaded a glance at the bed. But I still looked.

My wife and younger brother laid side by side. Frost was under the covers while Victor was over them.

The cloth Lord Kiza had tied above Victor's knee was still in place, trying to prevent the poison from spreading up his body until Kiza knows how to treat him.

Telling Sity that Victor was hit on the chest with the poisoned arrow had been a pleasure. Not because I wished ill to my brother but because I knew it will be the very start to breaking Sity.
