Thirty Three

I was running as fast as I could toward the end of the corridor but every time I reached the exit, the ground would swallow me up and I would be stood back behind the silver, steel bars. I grunted in frustration. It was a vicious cycle which had replayed for the 3rd time. I scrunched my nose at the awful smell. It smelt like rotting flesh and the freezing conditions didn’t help to dim down the scent.

“Leia?” I asked mentally.

Nothing.

“Leia, are you there?” I whispered.

I don’t know why I whispered, no one could hear the conversation in my mind. I could feel her stir inside me, but she wasn’t talking. I would have to figure that out once I got out of here. But where was here?

I looked down to the padlock on door to my trapped room once more, and like I had previously, I twisted my wrist in the air causing the padlock to twist and break off the the bars.

Did I miss where she told Nate her wolf finally surfaced? I would’ve thought that would be an important moment in the book since they’ve been waiting to mark each other…
