CHAPTER 5: PACKAGE

Leilani gave her usual gentle smile, seeing her call connecting with logan's line.

She had been calling him since she had settled in their new abode but he wasn't picking.

She sighed disappointedly when the call disconnected again.

" Quit behaving childish." She whined as if she was seeing Logan right before her.

A smile spread on her beautiful face again as her eyes met crystal wrapped around the fluffy white puppy she had insisted to buy on their way.

She looked around, exactly the type of place she wanted.

Elegant and simple!

She thought inwardly. " Just like me!." She giggled on her own before sweeping her little girl in her dainty hands.

She dropped the girl on the little princess bed she had ordered for her immediately they arrived.

Her baby oughtn't to lack anything. A knock resounded on the front door, she walked over opening the door, her gaze met that of young lady almost her age.

Seems like she got a new neighbor and friend, of course.

" Hi." The lady waved.

The Beta seemed to notice the alpha's twitching eyes and uncomfortable movement.

He tried to get the attention of the Gamma who had his usual signature ' I am busy face.'

" Idiot." The Beta hissed throwing meaningful glares at Xander who already turned from where Cole could even give him a signal.

Cole knew if he tried to give a low growl, all the werewolves present in the meeting would turn to face him, and one would definitely notice the alpha's state thanks to their super hearing ability.

To make matters worse, the fool had blocked him earlier in the day when he (Cole) was disturbing him (Xander).

The Beta moved away from the Alpha king walking towards Xander, taking a long scroll..he banged the table before yelling loudly. " And that's the end of today's meeting, you'd all be informed the date the next meeting's adjourned."

Cole loud exclaim shock some of the officials, they gave their selves meaningful looks before standing up to leave the room like their pants were on fire.

" Beta Cole, may I ask why you sent the officials out like they were goats." Xander asked, focusing on Cole.

" Idiot, how would you know when you were sitting over there talking like a fustrated mistress." Cole snarled earning a glare from Xander.

" Mind you wolf.." Cole began moving to him at the endearment the Gamma used to call him.

" I wasn't just talking, I was talking about importants things and doing the job you're supposed to do, I wonder why you even became the alpha's Beta." Xander dropped the snarky comment from his mouth, ignoring the imaginary smokes coming out of Cole's ear.

" You mateless bastard!"

Cole yelled as he lunged at him.

" Get off me idiot, a pot calling a kettle black." Xander retorted, pushing Cole off him.

" Take a look at yourself before calling me mateless, I don't think the moon goddess would even grant a whoring ambassador like you a mate." Xander continued shading cole who looked likes he was about to spit fire from his mouth.

" Even if she were to have pity on you and grant you a mate, she'd give you Kesha." He added making matters worse.

Kesha was the infamous pack prostitute. One would always find her in every club house, no one knew why she hasn't met her mate till now.

She had gotten quite old but the makeup skills she boasted of learning in the human realm had really kept her on track, hiding her quite hideous face from her numerous customers.

Even the popular man whore, Cole wanted nothing to do with her.

The Beta finally had enough, in the blink of an eye, he and the Gamma were rolling on the floor of the pack house meeting room.

Kaden threw hateful glares at the two useless assistants he was blessed with, he nodded mentally realizing that this two was a curse in disguise.

He looked at them again as they continuously continued to roll on the floor, the other trying to outshine the other one.

The Alpha wondered the sin his ancient forefathers had done for them to grant him Xander and Cole.

The uncomfortable feeling he had been having had even disappeared during the time he was watching them throwing words at themselves.

He stood up quietly, walking out of the place.

Talking to them would be pouring water into a basket.

" Get me Adina." Alpha kaden said sitting in the throne room.

Tyron nodded going out. He came back shortly with Adina, the luna princess personal maid, an elderly woman in her late forties.

The woman walked in briskly, while the head guard took the position he was occupying before.

Adina bowed respectfully to the alpha king as she came to his presence.

" Where's your Luna?" He asked with a serene expression.

The old lady bowed again before raising her head up, not looking into the alpha's eyes though.

" She left for her brother's engagement which is tommorow at the red moon pack, but no worries Your majesty, I made sure she had a lot of security with her.

She forbade me from going with her, I couldn't disagree with her your highness." Adina explained, bowing before the cold looking man before her.

" Adina." He called calmly. " If the princess couldn't tell me she was going out to somewhere, why didn't you?"

Adina fell silent, knowing she was quite guilty of the alpha's question.

" I plead for your forgiveness, your highness. She told me not to, I was in a tight spot...I couldn't refute her." The woman pleaded.

A long silence ensued for moments.

" Leave." His serene voice finally spoke.

Adina didn't know when a huge sigh of relief left her mouth.

As she turned to leave, she stopped as if she just remembered something.

" One more thing, Your majesty." She

called.

" She took the prince with her." Adina added.

THE NEXT DAY

Cole entered closing the door of the Alpha's suite gently, his face held an unhappy expression.

He glanced at the Alpha whose eyes were shut as he laid on the kingly sized bed. Cole scoffed knowing the Alpha's eyes were just shut tight, he wasn't sleeping.

" Kaden." The Beta called in a sullen voice.

" There's something you need to know." He added. Just then, Xander came into the room holding a scroll.

The alpha sighed as he stood up gently, his long silver hair flowed in his back as he sat on the bed. His broad shoulders leaned on his nightstand.

" The...." Cole tried saying.

" Right!" Kaden interrupted. " I thought it would be right to give the both of you a warning. I don't want what happened yesterday to repeat itself. If you know you came here to bicker again. You know where the door is." The Alpha said giving them cold glances.

Cole threw Xander a look that says " You heard what he says " while the later just hissed, throwing his face to the other side.

" What do we have here today?" Kaden asked.

The Beta and the Gamma looked at themselves. "

Go first!" They said together which made them glare at themselves.

" Who's the eldest here?" Xander scoffed.

" You came with the least problem, go first." The Beta nudged. Xander gave him an hard stare before facing the Alpha who was watching them calmly.

" Alpha wymond sent another note to the palace, Your majesty." Xander said.

The Alpha replied calmly.

" I don't have the time to waste on that old man. Cole?" He called.

" Kaden, I'm really confused about this but unfortunately, Sir Cornelius was found wounded and unconscious in his home, he's currently at the pack healer's hut." Cole explained having an extremely sad look.

Kaden sat uprightly after hearing the name his Beta mentioned. He stood to go out but Cole held him back by the wrist, not to tightly or the wolf could think he was a threat and he (Cole) might get attacked.

" I'm not done." Cole added, Xander pouted drawing little circles on his laps.

Kaden swallowed. " I'm all ears." He said.

" Some of the pups were taken while some were killed in the pack's orphanage, the elders in the orphanage weren't spared." Cole said.

" We don't know what is happening."

Xander brought his head up, giving the alpha a pitiful look.

" Don't give me that look." Kaden said suddenly, his hazel eyes switching colors.

The Beta hurriedly nodded. Kaden roughly withdrew his hands from Cole's grip.

Reaching for the door knob, they heard a clanking sound which made their heads turn to the direction it came from.

Their eyes widened seeing what made the sound.

" You have a package, Your majesty." Tyron's voice sounded from behind the door.
