Chapter 13

Sienna's head jerked to one side as a result of the slap. Her ears were ringing, and even a trace of blood was oozing from the corner of her mouth.

Sienna wiped the blood away with one hand and slowly raised her head.

She was staring at Keegan's furious face.

He appeared to feel that this slap wasn't sufficient and raised his hand in an effort to slap her once more.

It was just that he could not succeed this time. The police officer next to him stepped forward to stop him immediately as he said loudly, “What kind of place do you think this is? How dare you slap her in front of us?”

Keegan said angrily, “I am her father, and it’s only right for me to teach her a lesson! She caused such a big mess for me today. I will not only hit her, but I will beat her to death!”

The corners of Sienna’s mouth twitched slightly as the police officer guarded her. The blood made her skin look even fairer, and her bright and lazy smile was filled with endless chills.

Wonderful.

She would remember this slap.

Keegan was very unwilling to stop. Even though he was being pulled back by the police, he stretched out his hand and pointed at Sienna from a distance as he yelled, “You'd better withdraw your accusations now! Say that it was just a joke with your classmates! After that, you should apologize to your classmates and ask for their forgiveness!”

Who could have predicted that a father would say such things to his daughter?

It was absolutely absurd.

Even the police officer next to him could not continue listening to him anymore and said solemnly, “Mr. Lang, this is not a place for you to joke around. Please leave if you are going to continue obstructing our work like this!”

Keegan appeared not to have heard him as he only glared angrily at Sienna while yelling threateningly, “You wicked child! Did you hear what I said? Don’t blame me for being ruthless if you dare to disobey me!”

Sienna lowered her head as she desperately restrained herself from rushing over to kick that scumbag’s head!

The police officer next to her thought that she was sad. So, they threw Keegan out of the police station directly without saying a word on the grounds that he was obstructing official duties.

A female police officer thoughtfully took an ice pack and handed it to Sienna as she comforted her. “Don’t be afraid. We are here. Put it on your face first. It’s swollen.”

“Thank you.”

Sienna took it with a light-hearted smile. She was well-behaved and pleasant.

The remaining eight boys and girls were taken into different interrogation rooms.

There was only a simple table and chair in the interrogation room, and Flora was not afraid at all when she sat down. She even deliberately emphasized, “Do you know who I am? I am the daughter of the Lennon family!”

The police officer who was interrogating her took out the video directly and asked, “Are you the person in the video who pushed Sienna Lang into the water?”

“No!”

“Let me ask you again: Is it you or not?”

“No!” Flora slammed her hands on the table and said furiously, “What? Are you going to convict me based on a video that has been maliciously edited?”

“The authenticity of this video has been verified by our technical staff. There is no trace of tampering or editing. Of course, you can also choose to continue hiding the truth, but we will also continue investigating to the end!”

The same conversation was going on in the other interrogating rooms.

Although the eight participants were united, there was always someone who could not bear it and give it all away.

Amongst them, one of the boys trembled and said, “It was at Sienna’s birthday party that night. At that time, Flora was the one who pushed Sienna into the water first, and after Sienna fell into the water, the rest of us wanted to avenge Clara. So, we kept pressing Sienna’s head down to prevent her from coming to the surface…”

“Did Sienna struggle and call out for help after she fell into the water?”

“Yes. She called for help…”

“Did you guys stop then?”

“No, no…” The boy lowered his head and added embarrassedly, “But Sienna then swam to the shore by herself and kicked all of us into the water. It is only reasonable to say that she is also guilty as well!”

The police officer pushed his glasses and said, “What you’re saying is that you guys wanted to continue doing something to her after she went ashore, right? That was considered self-defense.”

“But we did not mean to hurt her! It was just a joke!”

“It wasn’t intentional? Then was it Sienna who invited you to participate in this birthday party?”

“No, it wasn't…” The boy’s face turned red as it was difficult for him to say anything.

Sienna was isolated by the whole school, and no one would want to attend her birthday party.

“It was Clara who said that it was crowded and lively, so we went over to have fun at her invitation.”

Clara?

The police officers in the interrogation room exchanged glances.

This name had appeared three times. First, she invited these teenage boys and girls to Sienna’s birthday party, then she had a conflict with Sienna. After that, these people pushed Sienna into the water because of her!

It seemed as though Clara was directly connected to the whole case!

“Summon her.”

Clara was curled up in Quentin's arms when the summons came. She appeared utterly helpless as she sobbed helplessly. “What should I do, Quentin? I'm scared…”

“Don’t be scared. You did not do anything. In fact, you are a victim as well. The police will find out the truth even if Sienna made any false accusations against you!” Quentin tenderly wiped her tears as he reassured her, “Don’t be afraid, Clara. I will accompany you. No one will dare to mistreat you with me around.”

“You’re so kind to me, Quentin…”

“What are you saying, silly girl? You’re only suffering because of me. If it weren’t for me, you wouldn’t have to be harassed and humiliated by that mad woman, Sienna!”

Clara was personally driven to and joined at the police station by Quentin.

At the entrance, Sienna was going to leave because she had nothing else to do after her statement was already taken. Unfortunately, she ran into Quentin and Clara, who were approaching.

As the saying went, when two enemies came face to face, their eyes would blaze with hatred. As soon as Quentin saw Sienna, he sneered, “I feel more and more disgusted with you. You’re even employing such a vicious method to grab my attention!”

Sienna stood dumbfounded.

What was wrong with this person?

Quentin wrapped his arms tightly around Clara’s waist, his movements intimate and gentle. However, there was unmasked disgust in his eyes when he looked at Sienna!

“This is my last warning to you. You'd better withdraw those unfounded accusations. Otherwise, Mr. Lang will not let you off, and neither will the Lennon family. Additionally, you will also get expelled from school. Sienna, you'd best assess the scenario and balance the benefits and drawbacks on your own!”

After saying that, Quentin hugged Clara and was about to go inside.

A sneer emanated from the entrance at this time.

Everyone was stunned for a moment before they turned to look at the source of the sound.

They saw a tall figure standing lazily at the entrance beside the stone pillar.

The man had attractive brows and a lovely appearance. From behind him, the sweltering sun was pouring down over his shoulders.

He emerged from the backlight gradually as everyone looked on. He resembled a divine deity standing atop a distant mountain, looking down upon all creatures. He was respectable and composed, enigmatic and yet threatening.

He looked charming and eye-catching.

Why was it him again?

As soon as Harry appeared, his powerful aura tipped over like a mountain. This sense of oppression was pervasive and overwhelming.

The expression on Quentin’s face changed slightly. He was so overwhelmed that he could not say a word!

Harry didn't even bother to look at him, though. Instead, he made his way directly to Sienna.

Sienna was unable to decipher Harry's intentions. This was especially so since she had already made up her mind this morning to stay away from this dangerous man.

So, she took a step back and prepared to leave some distance between them, yet there were stairs behind her feet!

When she lost her footing, she was caught off guard, and she tumbled backward. She could only grab at anything nearby in a rush.

She consequently grabbed Harry's waist.

Sienna was stunned, and her face, which always seemed emotionless and unperturbed, finally showed a look of astonishment.

Harry appeared to be smiling, but his tone was leisurely and vague—

“No one has ever dared to take advantage of me, but seeing that it's you, Miss Sienna, I’m more than willing.”
