Chapter 6

Ren Liu's eyes open as soon as the door closes. He could still feel his wife's gentle, soft kisses on his lips. His entire senses were engulfed by his beloved's lovely aroma.

"Xia, don't play with fire," he whispered, staring at the door where his wife had gone. Perhaps Raphael was correct. His wife was desperate for him to be a part of her life.

Ren Liu ran to the bathroom and took a fast shower, choosing to postpone such thoughts. He still has to prepare a lavish meal for his queen.

Breakfast was a straightforward affair. Ren Liu's cook for Xia, who appeared to be very happy with the dish.

"Zia, I'm having dinner with my former schoolmates tonight at the Hudson Hotel. Would you like to join us?" Ren inquired warily.

Xia, who was filled to the brim, looked at her husband lazily. This man made fun of her yesterday. Now he wants to make her join him at his event. After a few minutes of making her husband fidget, Xia replied lazily.

"Yes, send me a dress to the office and pick me up." She said, earning a joyful smile from Ren.

"That’s great! I will look for a beautiful gown for you! "

Ren was so happy that his beloved would join him to attend the gathering. He needs to order a pair of clothing for them.

Zu Reina was a gorgeous, selfish woman. She was formerly famed at college for her beauty, and her family had indulged her from infancy. Zu Reina had a crush on Ren Liu in college since he was both handsome and wealthy. However, she was too preoccupied with other males at the time. Zu Reina began to covet the man now that he had made a reputation for himself and owned a large number of hospitals.

What irritates her would be that her prospect has gone to that geeky, pitiful woman. That poor girl has no right to be with Ren Liu. She was determined to destroy their marriage. How much did she admire Ren Liu? Nobody knows. The only thing she knew for certain was that Ren Liu was hers.

Reina opted to overlook the reality that she had also created a great deal of pain for Ren. In her perspective, her goal was to acquire him rather than destroy him. So, even if her acts harmed him, so what? She only needed to recompense him once she had him.

Xia and Ren arrived at the hotel ten minutes before the event started. Ren Liu brought a gorgeous black dress that hugged the body shape of his wife. The couple drew all of the attention in the room. They both look like immortals that have come down to earth.

Reina gritted her teeth. Her anger muddled her. One must understand that jealous women were truly terrified, as they would do anything they could to get their hands on what they wanted. She went up to Xia and Ren, blocking their way.

"Xu Xia, I don't believe this reunion is for you to attend; I don't remember having someone like you as a classmate," she scoffed. She looked at Xia as if she were some kind of garbage who shouldn't be in her company.

Xia only had one thought in her mind: brain-damaged!

“I’m a family member. They don’t call me Mrs. Wang for nothing, and this is my husband. Don’t you know him? "

She felt a little annoyed. This woman was the one that was clingy to her husband. How stupid was she in her past life? Did she fall for this brain-damaged woman’s schemes? How disgraceful!

"Mrs. Wang? Don’t think I don’t know the truth about your infidelity! Should I announce it to everyone right now?" Reina raised her voice to draw the attention of the people around them.

Xia found it hilarious, but her eyes flashed with a cold glint. This annoying woman was trying to threaten her with the fact that she was so nice to Hui. Hah! Funny.

Hui and Xia had no relationship as of this moment. Yes, she already loved Hui around this time and considered him her lover. Unfortunately for Reina, the relationship was never confirmed since Hui loved to act like an older brother to her.

"Oh? What do you know? How much do we love each other? Or how envious you are? You make me and Ren Liu feel disgusted." She paused and spared her a contemptuous look before continuing and cutting off whatever Reina wanted to retort with. "Go away. I don’t want a little whore near my husband."

After a brief moment of silence, the audience erupted into an uproar. They could all hear the disdain and sarcasm in Xu Xia’s voice, and her blunt words were truly praiseworthy.

A homewrecker? And Reina was trying to be the mistress to Ren. Such a poor upbringing. The women immediately pull their husbands or boyfriend away from Reina, while the male did the same with their girlfriends. Better not to let their wives/girlfriends know that kind of attitude.

Xia turns to her obedient-looking husband. “Don’t go near that woman or else you will be contaminated."  She said, seriously.

"Ok. I won’t." Ren Liu replied earnestly.

"Great. Now let's go. I don’t want you to catch some germs from her. "

She pulled Ren’s arm and dragged him away from the crazy woman, who looked positively livid.

Ren Liu brought Xia to his group of friends. They are eagerly waiting for the arrival of the couple.

“Ren! It’s been years since you got married, and you’re only introducing the missus to us." A jolly tall man greeted them accusingly.

"Shut your mouth, Chun." A man with glasses glared at the man called Chun.

Ren looks at his wife. Seeing a curious look on her face He calmed himself. "Xia, they are my friends. The tall man is Ming Chun, and the one with glasses is Han Donghai. "

“Nice to meet you. I am Xia, head of Xu Corporation, and his wife." Ren’s whole face brightened hearing his wife’s self-introduction. It’s the first time she's acknowledged their marriage.

"Wow! So you are the guarded wife of this bastard." Chun said laughingly earning a glare from Ren.

Donghai pushed Chun aside. “Ignore him. We are glad to meet you. Ren has been talking about you every time we meet.”

"Oh? I hope he did not bad-talk me." She eyed Ren, making him squirm.

Chun laughs loudly. "Of course not. He loves you so much that I even thought that you gave our cold friend some love potion."

Xia was stunned. Really? Excuse me! The man was the one who pursued him. Not the other way around.

"Chun! That’s enough." Ren glared at the man darkly.

"Tell me more." Xia smiled sweetly, making Ren feel cold from the top of his spine.

The four people enjoy themselves, not knowing that a pair of eyes have been glaring at them.

Reina had enough. After drinking a dozen beers, she left, despite the objections of her former classmates. She drove her car faster and faster until she breached the limits of control. But evidently, she was unaware of the danger she was putting herself in. She stepped harder on the gas pedal.

All of a sudden, a motorcycle cut her off, making her lose control of her wheels. She evaded the motorcycle. Not knowing the danger she was putting herself into,

Her heart suddenly jolted. As she stepped on the brakes and turned the steering wheel, her eyes widened in horror, and before she could react, her sports car collided with the heavy cargo truck on the other side.

Reina couldn’t even blink her eyes when her sports car was thrown a few feet away from the cargo truck before exploding.

Xia was very satisfied with the gathering. She enjoyed talking with Ren’s friend as well as making the man fidget.

“Did you enjoy yourself?” Ren asked his already flushed wife sitting lazily at their sofa. The little missus looks positively adorable. Now he was wondering where his usually cold wife disappeared to?

Xia was about to respond when Ren’s phone rang. She motioned for him to answer it. Upon seeing the caller

They both look at the eyes of each other.
