Chapter 67“I’m really glad that you kept pursuing me, even when I continually pushed you away. Honestly, I’m glad we didn't get together when I was 18.” I said. Chapter 69I walked to the elevator to the 7th floor and headed towards the suite at the end of the hall. I didn’t have to knock when I arrived because the door opened on its own. I stood there for a moment and then stepped inside, closing the door behind me softly. Max was at the bar pouring two drinks when I took a few steps further into the room, clearing my throat to announce my arrival. Not that he needed me to, he knew I was going to be early. I always was. He turned to face me, and he stopped dead in his tracks. I watched as his eyes roamed my entire figure, stopping only when he met my onyx eyes with his. He kept his emotions so buttoned up that I had no idea what he was thinking, but he was almost looking at me like I was a piece of meat. “See something you like?” I growled, hoping that he could hear the sarcasm in my voice. He shook his head slightly as if he were snapping out of whatever daze he was just in, and headed my way. “I always see something I like with you, doll.”

Chapter 71Max then turned to me. “Good girl.” He purred. I rolled my eyes. “Now get the fuck out of my head.” I spat. I pulled away, placing my fingers on my lips as the lightning faded. “How?” I asked him, and I knew he knew exactly what I meant. He reached for my hand and was successful in grabbing it. His thoughts poured into my mind as quickly as a broken dam. It was magic, he could mimic anything, any thought, any feeling, any memory, and he could make his own. Chapter 72The elevator opened and I headed towards the end of the hall. I pushed open the doors to Max’s suite and walked inside, taking my heels off and setting them by the door. Max walked out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel and we locked eyes. “Ah, Snow. you’re back sooner than I expected.” Max purred. “And you’re a hell of a lot less clothed than I expected.” I said with a smirk, letting my eyes roam his nearly naked form. His rippling muscles cascaded down his chest and arms.
