Lily
After a restless sleep I woke up a few hours later, still feeling exhausted. I looked around the room. The sun was now setting and the Asshole was asleep in his chair. I pushed the covers off of me and stood up slowly, trying not to wake him. I opened the door quietly and took a few tentative steps down the hall. There was no burning in my neck so I walked a little further. I found a staircase and traveled down to what looked like the main level. The staircase was large and winding and I ended up in a foyer of some kind with black and white tiles and a large crystal chandelier hanging from the ceiling. I wandered through a dining room and living room until I found a kitchen. My stomach was howling at me now and I could not deny my hunger any longer. "Hey Luna!" A voice called from behind me. I jumped and spun around nearly falling over until I saw Sam walking from the other side of where I came in from. "So, you can handle being away from alpha now, huh?" He asked, walking closer to me. The last time I had seen him he turned into a giant wolf and I couldn't get the image out of my head. Instinctually, I started to back away from him. He noticed and stopped coming towards me. "I'm sorry you had to find out that way. I really am. But I'd never hurt you." He had a look of deep sadness on his face, like the idea that I thought he was dangerous was painful to him. I nodded at his words and he rounded the island. "Do you want me to make something for you?" He asked as he opened the fridge. "I don't recommend a sandwich." Another voice said from behind me. "She doesn't seem to like those." Asshole strode into the kitchen looking from Sam to me. "Right, so it seems you can handle the distance now so I have things to attend to. Sam will stay here with you if you need anything ask him." He looks at me as if expecting a reply and, when he receives none, turns to leave the room. A moment later I hear the front door close and exhale the breath I have been holding. At least he's gone. "So.... food?" Sam asks with a boyish grin and I can't help but give him a small smile in return. "You don't like sandwiches?" He asks. "A sandwich is fine. I just don't like them when HE gives them to me." Sam nods in understanding and builds me a sandwich tower and gives me a can of soda to go with it. He makes his own plate and we eat quietly in comfortable silence. "You must have a lot of questions." He says after awhile. I shrug and glance over at him. "Not really." I answer. "Really?" He says surprised. "I'm sure I will eventually, but I don't even know what to ask right now." Sam nods again and we finish our food. "Do you want to watch a movie or something?" He asks after we clean up. "Not really. I just want to go back to bed." I don't know if the exhaustion is from recent events or the fact that I haven't been able to take my anti depressants and I'm sliding into a depressive episode, but I can barely keep my eyes open. "OK. Let me show you to your room. Since you're ok now with distance from Alpha, he figured you'd want your own room for awhile instead of bunking with him." "He figured right." I respond. Sam leads me back up the staircase to a room a few doors down from where I had been staying. He opens the door and reveals a beautiful room with cream walls, a light blue and white intricate comforter with delicate flowers, a wood make up table with flowers carved all along the sides and a matching chair, a large dresser and a bay window with a small, padded seat and pillows that match the bed. "Wow. It's beautiful." I say honestly. "Alpha had us get some clothes for you. They're in the closet and dresser. Only the ladies went shopping for you so don't think I'm a weirdo and picked our your underwear or anything." I giggle a little and look in the closet. It's well stocked with everything I could imagine. "The bathrooms over there." Sam points to a closed door. I open it to see a huge jetted tub, a walk in shower, and two sinks all surrounded by white tiles and marble floors. I see shampoo and conditioner in the shower as well as a toothbrush, toothpaste and a hairbrush. "Thanks, Sam." I say effectively dismissing him. I need a shower and that's my only priority right now. "Holler if you need anything!" He says before closing the door behind him. I take a long, hot shower before changing into my pajamas and snuggling down into the nice cozy bed. I'm just about to drift off to sleep when I feel a tightness in my stomach. I roll over trying to ignore it as it turns into a stabbing pain. I groan a little and grab my abdomen. Surely it's not period cramps. I just finished that a few days before I was kidnapped. The pain intensifies and begins to spread. Now, rather than sharp stabbing pains it feels like my whole my body is on fire. I scream a sound I have never heard myself make before. I hear footsteps pounding up the stairs as I scream again, writhing on the bed from the all consuming pain. I hear the door open and Sam is standing in the doorway with a wide terrified look on his face. "Luna? What's wrong?" "It hurts! Fire!" Is all I can say through clenched teeth as I continue to writhe back and forth. My body is covered in a sheen of sweat and my hands are balled tightly at my sides. "That fucker." I hear Sam mutter "What? Sam please! Make it stop!" "I can't." He looks at me with sympathy and places a hand on my shoulder. His touch burns even more and he pulls his hand away quickly as I scream. "What's happening to me?!" I ask, terrified. "It's the alpha. He's having sex with someone else. He's cheating on your bond and you can feel it." His response nearly makes me vomit. I'm angry that he's causing me pain, but my heart is breaking at the idea of him being with someone else. I have no idea where that emotion comes from and I don't have time to dwell on it. Shortly after, the pain becomes too great and my world fades to black. I wake, I'm not sure how much later but it's still dark out when I hear the front door slam shut. "What the fuck is wrong with you?" I hear Sam shout. "Not now, Sam." Asshole responds. "Seriously? I know what you were doing." "What was I doing?" "Fucking some whore while your mate was writhing in pain in her bed." "Actually what I was doing was protecting her. My wolf was agitated, he needed the release." "Then maybe you could try actually being nice to your mate and SHE will have sex with you!" Sam yells, obviously annoyed. "Are you kidding? I can't have sex with her! She's a fucking human Sam! I would hurt her!" "Then turn her!" I gasp at this, hoping it doesn't mean what I think it does. "Have you seen her, Sam? She's tiny. She'd never survive the change. She'd die during her first shift." "You don't know that." Sam bites back. "She's your mate for a reason. You need to start trusting that." "No. This is the worst possible scenario. I didn't want a mate in the first place, but was willing to accept what was best for the pack but having a fucking human mate is the worst thing that could have happened. Look at how she's been the whole time she's been here." "She was nice to me. Smiled. Laughed even." "Well congratu-fucking-lations to you." Asshole seethes. "Well, what are you going to do? You can't keep sleeping with she wolves. It's not fair to Luna." "I don't know. But I'm sure the pain of me sleeping with someone else is nothing compared to what she'd feel if I pushed off those urges." "Alpha. It hurt so bad she passed out." Sam said quietly. I heard Asshole sigh. "It can't be helped." This makes me see red and I spring from the bed and fly down the stairs to confront him. "You listen here you worthless piece of shit. What I just went through is unacceptable and you will NOT do that again." Both men look at me with wide surprised eyes before Asshole takes a step closer to me. "Or what?" Asshole asks. "Or I'll run." He scoffs. "Try it. You won't get far." "Why are you like this? If you don't want me, just let me go." "I can't." He says tiredly. "The pack needs you." "I don't give a fuck about the pack you twatwaffle." "My name is Liam!" He shouts at me. "I DON'T CARE WHAT YOUR NAME IS YOU'RE STILL A TWATWAFFLE!" "Wait." Sam interjects. "You've been here for two days and you still didn't know his name?" He asks incredulously. "He offered to tell me I just thought asshole suited him better." I shrug. "Well, you're not wrong." Sam mumbles and Liam glares at him. "Right, well if we're done here I'm going to bed." He walks passed me without so much as sparing me a glance and I realize the depth of my dislike for this man. "I hate you." I mumble at his retreating form. He stops for a moment, sighs and continues up the stairs. I can't stop the flood of emotion and begin to cry for what feels like the thousandth time. Sam wraps me up in his strong arms and allows me to soak his t shirt with my tears. "I'm sorry this is happening to you." He whispers. "I'm so sorry."LilyIt's been five days since I have been trapped in this house. The only reason I know that is because every day Liam leaves the house in the evening and shortly after the flames lick my body. After the second night, Sam and I developed a routine. As soon as Liam would leave, Sam would fill my bathtub with cold water and as much ice as he could and when the pain started, I would sink in to the freezing cold water, fully clothed and ride it out. It didn't take the pain away, but it did take the edge off enough that I didn't pass out anymore. After Liam was done, I would start to shake so Sam would turn on the shower to a warm setting and sit in there with me. He didn't seem to mind getting soaking wet, and since dealing with the pain took up so much of my energy I could barely stand upright. I don't think I could survive this new pathetic existence if it weren't for Sam.As much as the physical pain was taking a toll on me, the emotional pain was just as bad. Every time Liam left the
Lily As soon as the door closed behind me, Derek's head snapped in my direction and he launched himself towards me. It took him no time to close the distance between us and he wrapped his arms around my waist as I flung mine around his neck. "Oh my God Lily where have you been?!" Tears begin to cloud my eyesight and I take a deep breath to compose myself. "I'm so sorry Derek. I'll explain everything I promise. Just hold me for a minute." "I've been so worried, baby. The last I heard from you was a text that you had to go out of town unexpectedly to take care of a sick cousin. I didn't even know you had a cousin." This was news to me, someone must have gone through my phone and didn't want him to be suspicious. "I'm sorry, my phone broke shortly after so I couldn't get ahold of you. But I'm here now." An idea forms and I decide to act on it. This may be the last time a man makes love to me and I want to take advantage of it, as well as letting Liam see what he's been putting me th
Liam I hear Sam's heavy, tired footsteps making his way to my home office. He opens the door and shuts it quietly behind him before collapsing into the chair across from my desk. He runs both hands down his face and sighs heavily. "She's finally asleep." He says tiredly. "I figured." I respond. "The stabbing pain in my chest has lulled to a dull ache." "Yeah I felt it too." "You did?" I ask. "Yeah. I think the whole pack did to a certain extent. She doesn't know she can broadcast her emotions to us, let alone how to control it." He answers. I sigh myself and look over at my exhausted beta. "Thank you for all you're doing for her. I know it's not in your job description. Any idea when Callum will be back?" He shakes his head. "He and Kara are having a hard time with the baby. I guess she doesn't sleep well. I told him to take his time though. I don't mind spending time with Luna." I nod. "She'll be alright. She just needs to get closer to the pack." "Liam. I think she's depre
Lily I got what I wanted. No more pain, no more heartache. At least not from him sleeping with other women. I almost couldn't believe how quickly he caved. He must have felt more pain than he let on. Or maybe he wasn't willing to risk me sleeping with his packmates. I giggle a little thinking that he actually believed I would force any of them to have sex with me. That's rape and I would never commit such an atrocity. But he believed my bluff hook, line and sinker. "I need a favor." Sam says from behind me. "Well more like our Gamma does." "Ok...." I urge him to continue. "He and his mate Kara just had a pup, a little girl named Grace, and she's really fussy. They've hardly been getting any sleep and they're desperate. As Luna, you have a calming effect on the pack. They were hoping you would come visit them and maybe help settle the little firecracker down for a bit so they can get some rest." I smile at the thought and nod yes. "Wait! Let me grab something." I head up to my clo
Lily We arrive back at Liam's house and I head up to my room to start on another baby blanket and Sam agrees to make us some lunch. I hear him start up the stairs, only to be stopped by a voice. "Hey Sam. How was Callum's?" Liam asks. "Great! Luna had both the baby and Kara tucked into bed before we left." "Really?" Liam says a bit disbelieving. Sam only chuckles in response. "Yeah she even figured out the cheek rubbing thing." "All on her own?" Liam asks, stunned again. "Yep." Sam responds popping the 'p' on the end "Oh good, so that explains why you smell like her and I won't need to kick your ass for touching my mate." Sam chuckles again and I hear him start walking towards my room. "Nope, Alpha no need." "Well, it sounds like she is coming to terms with things, settling in well and taking to her responsibilities." "It was only one visit, Alpha. She still needs time." "I know, but it sounds like it went well. I'm pleased with the progress. Thank you for doing as I asked
Liam It had been nearly four months since I found Lily and after her first week, I could probably count on one hand the number of times we actually talked. We asked each other the occasional question, or said good morning when we passed by each other in the hall and that was basically it. I could go days at a time without ever actually laying eyes on her. The only proof she existed was her mouthwatering scent that clung to nearly every square inch of our house. The extended absence from our mate was making my wolf depressed. He rarely talked to me, didn't even bother to ask for Lily and flat out ignored me most days. I couldn't even remember the last time I shifted. So now, not only did I feel like I was missing the half of my soul where Lily should reside, I was losing my constant companion in my wolf. I thought pushing her away, keeping my distance and making her hate me would make me happy. I didn't want anything to do with having a mate, being all annoying and in love. The idea
Liam After my invigorating conversation with Sam, I head back to the house with newfound purpose and a plan. Even though I know logically that Lily and I can never have a real mate relationship, and I'm not sure I want that anyway, I wouldn't mind us being somewhat closer to friends. I ponder this as my feet hit the pavement back to our house with a steady, rhythmic purpose. I enter the house and head straight to the dining room where Lily is sitting thinking hard over something. "I want to help." I say as I put my hands on the back of the chair facing directly away from her. She doesn't answer me or even so much as glance my way. I start to get irritated until I realize she still has her ear buds in. I rap my knuckles on the table in front of her, causing her to jump again. She gives me an irritated scowl and pulls out an ear bud. "What?!" She shouts at me. Oh this is starting off great. "I want to help." "Help with what?" She responds, almost sounding bored. Lily Liam has been acting weird and I don't like it. All that crap about wanting to help out with the Halloween party... what was that? It's been over a week since the party and he still finds a reason to talk to me almost every single day. Like today, he asked if we could have lunch together. I told him I already had plans with Kara. Which I didn't. But I want nothing to do with that asshole. It seems like he's trying to make nice, but it's far too late for that. I still hate him and I don't know how I could ever forgive him for what he's done to me. The longer I'm here, the more I realized how poorly he handled our situation. He didn't need to kidnap me. He could have infiltrated my life like a lot of the other wolves with human mates. I would have felt the mate bond and eventually, would have left Derek on my own. Sure, it would have been hard but at least I wouldn't loathe him the way I do now. And then the marking. God that was terrible. Even the pack was uncomfortable with
