LilyFinally! Home sweet home after that sucky shift. Being a nurse just gets harder and harder I swear. I pull up to our little bungalow in my black Ford Focus and thank God that day is over. It's already dark, but Derek left the porch light on for me. The faint glow makes our white house with red shutters even more welcoming than the daylight.I kick off my shoes as soon as I walk in and head straight for the little laundry room to throw my scrubs in the washer. Before I touch anything else I walk straight to the bathroom and turn the water in the shower on to the hottest setting my body can stand."Rough day?" Derek asks from the doorway.I give him a weak smile as my eyes peruse his familiar body. Blonde curly hair, bright blue eyes, sweet smile. He's always been lean, not particularly muscular but that never bothered me. At just over six foot he's much taller than me. At first it was intimidating but after being together for two years I find it more comfortable at this point. He
LilyI woke up the next morning to an empty bed. Which made me frown. Until I smelled the bacon. That smell always perks me right up. I hopped out of bed and put on one of Derek's old t shirts before scampering out to the kitchen. I found him shirtless in our small kitchen with white cabinets, grey countertops and an island big enough to seat three. I sat down in one of our stools to watch him work."Good morning, sweet girl." He says as he hands me a cup of coffee."You spoil me so." I say wistfully as he loads bacon, eggs and hashbrowns on a plate for me."I know how hard you can take days like yesterday. I don't want you falling into a low point. Do you need me to stay home today?"When I was in college I was diagnosed with depression after my parents were killed in a car accident. I kept thinking my melancholy state was due to the accident, but my therapist said I probably always had depressive tendencies and the accident just exacerbated my condition. Luckily, I found the right c
Liam"Alpha?""Yes, Amy?" I call the old woman into my office. She's been our packhouse manager for fifty years and there are few people I trust more. She is a mousy woman, barely five foot with short brown hair and warm brown eyes. She wipes her hands nervously on the white apron she wears over her light blue dress."I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the young ones broke another window." I sigh in annoyance and pinch the bridge of my nose."Damn teenagers." I mutter to myself when Amy tsks at me."Now Alpha Liam don't you forget you were one of those young men not too long ago.""It feels like a long time ago." She sighs and gives me a concerned look."You seem far too troubled for a twenty four year old. You need to relax. Have some fun. Maybe find your mate.""Agreed, but right now I have a window to fix." She nods and exits my office. I lean back from my large wood desk and stare out the window on the other side. It gives me an excellent view of the training grounds. I open
LilyI felt my eyelids flutter open and took a moment to allow my vision to clear. I was staring at a white ceiling above me. I allowed my eyes to wander the room. I was in a very large bed, tucked under a dark blue comforter. I lifted the blanket gently and saw with relief that I was still wearing the same clothes I had come here in. There was bright sunlight streaming in through a large window that was surrounded by floor length gray drapes and light gray walls. There were two small dressers, a door that looked like it opened into a bathroom and another door that was shut. I turned my head in the other direction and, sitting in a large chair typing away on a laptop, was my kidnapper."Good morning, Lily." He says quietly."Morning?" I ask. I can barely croak out the word through my dry mouth."Yes, you've been asleep for about sixteen hours." I gawk at him as the events of yesterday come rushing back."You bit me!" I scream at him. He sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose."Yeah,
LilyAfter a restless sleep I woke up a few hours later, still feeling exhausted. I looked around the room. The sun was now setting and the Asshole was asleep in his chair. I pushed the covers off of me and stood up slowly, trying not to wake him. I opened the door quietly and took a few tentative steps down the hall. There was no burning in my neck so I walked a little further. I found a staircase and traveled down to what looked like the main level. The staircase was large and winding and I ended up in a foyer of some kind with black and white tiles and a large crystal chandelier hanging from the ceiling. I wandered through a dining room and living room until I found a kitchen. My stomach was howling at me now and I could not deny my hunger any longer."Hey Luna!" A voice called from behind me. I jumped and spun around nearly falling over until I saw Sam walking from the other side of where I came in from."So, you can handle being away from alpha now, huh?" He asked, walking closer
LilyIt's been five days since I have been trapped in this house. The only reason I know that is because every day Liam leaves the house in the evening and shortly after the flames lick my body. After the second night, Sam and I developed a routine. As soon as Liam would leave, Sam would fill my bathtub with cold water and as much ice as he could and when the pain started, I would sink in to the freezing cold water, fully clothed and ride it out. It didn't take the pain away, but it did take the edge off enough that I didn't pass out anymore. After Liam was done, I would start to shake so Sam would turn on the shower to a warm setting and sit in there with me. He didn't seem to mind getting soaking wet, and since dealing with the pain took up so much of my energy I could barely stand upright. I don't think I could survive this new pathetic existence if it weren't for Sam.As much as the physical pain was taking a toll on me, the emotional pain was just as bad. Every time Liam left the
Lily As soon as the door closed behind me, Derek's head snapped in my direction and he launched himself towards me. It took him no time to close the distance between us and he wrapped his arms around my waist as I flung mine around his neck. "Oh my God Lily where have you been?!" Tears begin to cloud my eyesight and I take a deep breath to compose myself. "I'm so sorry Derek. I'll explain everything I promise. Just hold me for a minute." "I've been so worried, baby. The last I heard from you was a text that you had to go out of town unexpectedly to take care of a sick cousin. I didn't even know you had a cousin." This was news to me, someone must have gone through my phone and didn't want him to be suspicious. "I'm sorry, my phone broke shortly after so I couldn't get ahold of you. But I'm here now." An idea forms and I decide to act on it. This may be the last time a man makes love to me and I want to take advantage of it, as well as letting Liam see what he's been putting me th
Liam I hear Sam's heavy, tired footsteps making his way to my home office. He opens the door and shuts it quietly behind him before collapsing into the chair across from my desk. He runs both hands down his face and sighs heavily. "She's finally asleep." He says tiredly. "I figured." I respond. "The stabbing pain in my chest has lulled to a dull ache." "Yeah I felt it too." "You did?" I ask. "Yeah. I think the whole pack did to a certain extent. She doesn't know she can broadcast her emotions to us, let alone how to control it." He answers. I sigh myself and look over at my exhausted beta. "Thank you for all you're doing for her. I know it's not in your job description. Any idea when Callum will be back?" He shakes his head. "He and Kara are having a hard time with the baby. I guess she doesn't sleep well. I told him to take his time though. I don't mind spending time with Luna." I nod. "She'll be alright. She just needs to get closer to the pack." "Liam. I think she's depre
