Chapter Two

Soline’s Point of View

I woke up because of the loud noise outside of my room realizing that they are preparing for dad's birthday party tonight.

So dad will be here tonight? I asked myself.

Dad almost stayed in our hospitals sometimes in our real estate company and barely got to go home. Three times a month is considered lucky. I'm always thinking if I can handle everything once dad will turn over the responsibility to me. 

I went off the bed and went to the bathroom to take a bath, I closed my eyes while taking the shower and suddenly remembered everything that caused my pain.

I'm on my way to see Zach today at his office. He works for our real estate company. He's an architect and he's the one who decides on the design of any building that our company builds.

I cooked steak because it's his favorite with some potato chips on it. I plan to surprise him because he's been busy lately. 

Zach and I are together for 8 years. He is my childhood best friend and he protects me from everything. We studied at the same university and we've been campus sweethearts throughout the years. My dad and his parents are very supportive of us. Her mom became my mom too when I lost mommy when I was a kid. She had heart failure and didn't survive.

Zach always invades my place since dad is not always at home, but these past few days he didn't come to see me. I know that he's busy because of the new projects that my dad made that's why I decided to surprise him.

I turned on the engine of my Porsche and began to drive to his office.

While on the way, I listened to some music to avoid becoming sleepy.

I parked my car and went up to the 28th floor where his office at.

His secretary welcomed me with a nervous smile and was hesitant to let me enter the office.

I raised my eyebrow and enter without her permission.

This is my company. I can go wherever I want besides, this is my boyfriend's office.

I opened the door and didn't expect what I saw.

I regret coming here today.

But why?

There's this woman who is sitting on Zach's lap while sitting on his chair, kissing him passionately.

I suddenly dropped the food that I cooked for him. I looked at them and Zach was so shocked to see me.

I smiled at him and said "I'm sorry I didn't knock, I thought it was just my boyfriend. I didn't expect that he was with a whore" The woman looked at me so upset. She doesn't have the right to be upset. 

*slap*

I slapped her for making herself whore with my boyfriend.

"Isn't there a guy who will fuck you aside from my man? You should fuck yourself instead of destroying others' relationships" I said and turned my back to leave.

But I forgot something to say.

"Zach, make sure that you won't regret this. Go continue fucking her, I'll leave" I said straight into his eyes.

All I can feel is anger. Anger for myself. I kept asking if I wasn't enough. I did everything I could. I did my best to be a perfect partner for him. I even planned my future with him but why?

Do you know what's painful? It's not just because you've been cheated on. It's painful because all of your dreams and hardships together, all of the challenges that you surpassed together will end in just a snap.

I couldn't even imagine that this will happen to us.

There are a lot of things on my mind. I can't think straight. All I want is to remove all the heartaches that I'm feeling right now.

I want the cold shower to numb away the pain

Is it even possible?

I opened my eyes and sat on the floor. It's been 2 years but I can still feel the pain. The pain of being cheated on. The pain of being alone. We grew up together and I didn't expect that I will be left alone.

"Soline! Your dad is here!" Nanny Laura said at my door.

Today is dad's birthday. I need to get myself fixed and be happy with him today.

We will be having a lot of guests tonight and I need to be ready for that.

I went out of the bathroom and prepared myself. 

I wore a silver strapless fitted dress with a slit on it. It's kinda loose in front so my boob was emphasized. I also wore my yves saint laurent stilettos and put some fabulous makeup on. 

I shouldn't stress out myself for my bullshit past. I have almost everything and I can get whatever I want. I'm so lucky to be born as Madden.

I went out of my room and hugged my dad.

"How have you been my princess?" He said

"I'm doing great even if you always forget to visit me" I pouted.

Dad chuckled. " Are you mad at daddy ?"

"Of course not! I'm still enjoying what I have right now so thank you for your hard work dad" I said

Dad smiled and kissed me on my forehead.

"Happiest Birthday daddy," I said and I handed him my gift. It's a Richard Mille watch. Dad loves to collect watches and even though he already has lots of them, I know that this will make him happy.

"Thank you so much, princess!" 

"I love you, daddy, please always take care at work. Just wear that watch and always remember that I'm always with you, okay?"

"I will dear"

We went out and checked everything for the gathering. Buffets are set. Different types of mobile bars are set and of course, tables are set. We'll just need to wait for the other guests to start the party. I went inside our house and doubled check everything to make sure that everything will go well.
