Lisa’s POV

At this point I believe I had been cursed. On Monday, Shelly, because that was her name, the girl my husband cheated with, messed with my smoothie combination. She ate up all the apple. I swiftly told Andre and he told me to be more accommodating. That she was pregnant. I had to let that slide.

On tuesday, she occupied the sitting room with her bitchy friends and they laughed like witches. I couldn’t concentrate on the book I was reading.

On wednesday, she made Andre’s mother yell at me. She had told her series of things about me and when I entered the sitting room she stopped talking. Before Andre’s mother left, she warned me to let Shelly carry her baby to full term, since I didn’t want to get pregnant. That hurt me so bad, even though I was pregnant, it still hurt.

On thursday, she told the delivery guy to take my package back, that this was the wrong address. I didn’t react so much because I didn’t want to stir up trouble.

It was on Friday that I couldn’t take it anymore. I woke up that morning to hear that raunchy video playing in the sitting room. It was then something flipped in me. I walked to the sitting room, picked up the phone and stopped the video. “What the hell are you doing?” I heard from behind me. I turned to see Shelly glaring at me.

I smirked. “I understand you come from a whore house but you don’t have to rub it in our faces.” I could hear snickering and gasps from the maids. Shelly’s eyes widened. I watched her. My heart beating like crazy. I was ready if she wanted to get physical then I remembered she was pregnant. My courage was slowly turning to fear. I waited for her to do something but nothing came. She walked towards me, grabbed the phone and headed upstairs. I was happy. I was able to face my problems squarely.

In my era of triumph, I had forgotten that I lived in the same house with Shelly and that she could attack me at anytime. After taking a glass of orange juice, I began to walk upstairs. When I got to the floor which led to the next flight of stairs, I saw Shelly. She was holding a glass of juice.

“Who do you think you are?” came her voice from behind me. She glared at me. Her eyes glowing with a fire I could recognize as revenge.

I turned to her. “No one, just not a whore,” I said acidly. Immediately Shelly splashed the contents of her glass on me. I reached out and slapped her. But just before the fight became too physical, the maids intervened.

“You are a hoe!” She yelled. Her voice high in octaves. We were separated. I went to my room, waiting for Andre to come home, when I heard a knock on my door.

“Come in,” to my surprise it was Shelly.

She smiled. “I wanted to apologize to you for how I acted earlier. I stared at her and tried to decipher if she was faking it. I found no clue.

“Alright.” But then, she asked to sit in my room. We discussed for a while until Shelly suggested we go downstairs for a stroll. When I declined, she begged that it was for the baby. I finally agreed.

We had gotten to the second part of the stairs and as I walked down, I felt a hand grab my clothes and gave me a hard shove.

“Oh my God!” I let out a shrill cry as I tumbled down the stairs. As I fell the only thing I thought of was my baby. I landed on the floor with a hard thud.

As I laid there, I prayed and wished the baby would survive. The maids rushed to my aid and helped me sit up. That was it. I was going to tell Andre to send this asshole away. I have had enough.

*********

There was an excruciating pain on my waist as I writhed in bed, that night. Suddenly the door to my bedroom was yanked open.

“Baby you wouldn’t believe it, Shelly pushed me down the stairs and—"

“What did you do Lisa?” Andre growled. What? How?

“I did nothi—” he raised his hands to hit me and I ducked. I felt no pain and I opened my eyes.

“If not for the years we had spent together” Andre growled. I had never seen him this angry but that was not what hurt the most.

Andre raised his hands on me. He was about to hit me.

“Were you just about to hit me?” Tears began to flow down my cheeks. I roughly wiped them away.

“I would gladly do it correctly,” he said. I looked into his eyes and I didn’t know who was there any more.

“I hate you!” I sneered as I wiped a stubborn tear that slipped down my tear stained face.

“I am glad we are on the same page,” he smirked.

I wanted him to feel pain. Excruciating pain. I clenched my teeth “I promise you, I will get back at you”.

He looked me up and down and snorted. “You are poor, your anger can't even get you food to eat.”

I swallowed as I fought back tears. That night was one I would never forget. I cried myself to sleep, hoping that by morning I would feel better. I was wrong. I slapped with the reality of my memory that Andre wanted to hit me.

I managed to pull myself together and went to the hospital. I just wanted to be sure that I was okay. I called Becky for support. As I lay in the bed and the doctor checked, the sour expression on her face made me anxious.

“I’m sorry you —” Immediately I broke down in tears.

“Becky she’s gone! My little princess is gone,” I leaned on her and cried for the greater part of my life. The doctor managed to calm me down but as soon as I got out of her office I sighted my father in the reception. I ran to him and enveloped him in a hug as I bawled into his shoulders.

My father wiped my tears and I saw his eyes glossy. I grifted my teeth and made a resolve.

Andre Luster will pay for making me cry. I will make sure of it, even if it's the last thing I do before I die.

I was frustrated as I felt a sense of unease, the only thing that could be felt through me was the anger I felt towards Andre Luster, my ex husband.A black cloth was covered on my head as I wrapped it around my neck. I didn't want to be seen by anyone so at that moment I had to be discreet in hiding my identity otherwise before I would carry out my plans, it would flop right in my face. I was outside Andre's mansion and I could hear their happy laughters coming from inside. It seemed as though they were contented with everything. Liam and I had been talking about getting Leo involved in the issue for as long as I could remember, but I still couldn't make up my mind."I don't know, Liam," I said, throwing up my hands. "I want to hurt Andre so bad, but involving Leo feels like a huge risk. Not after knowing what he is to us, I mean my father, it stresses me out.”Liam leaned back in his chair. "I get it, but think about what you could gain. You could take down Andre and his whole empire."I stood up and started pacing around the room. "I know, but it's not just about winning or losing. "And I can show you the proof, if you'd like."He pulled out a small folder from his briefcase and slid it across the table to me. I hesitated for a moment before opening it, my heart racing with anticipation. The documents inside were damning - emails, memos, and financial records that all pointed to a deep-seated connection between Marcus and Leo. I felt uneasy for a moment, knowing that I was learning the truth somehow and I just was refusing to accept it. I mean I had just realized the extent of their involvement. But even as I stared at the evidence in front of me, I couldn't shake the feeling that Marcus wa

When I decided to hold back the Demonic Wolf and give everyone a chance to escape, I hadn't even expected anyone of them to come back for me. But somehow Lisa has acquired her ability, using it to come back for me. I would have died if not for her coming at the right moment to save me from the Demonic Wolf.My eyes lingered in the direction everyone was looking, hoping that Lisa would at least walk out of this. She had saved me from the Demonic Wolf, doing something very stupid later. And that thing was going off by herself to fight off the Demonic Wolf when she had not yet learnt how to control her ability. No one in the team could even take down the Demonic Wolf no matter what but she had gone off, hoping to finish off the Demonic Wolf. I didn't know if this was stupidity

Lisa's POVI've never been this confident in my entire life. It was like my courage had been multiplied several times after getting my shadow ability. It boosted my confidence and eliminated any fear and doubt that would have existed in my mind. My courage was unwavering just like a sturdy tree which could not be brought down despite the storm. Honestly, if someone had told me that I would become this confident I wouldn't have believed that person. I would have even insulted and quarrelled with that person for talking nonsense.Running through the shadow world was form. There was nothing like solids or liquids here. In fact there wasn't the existence of any object which could obstruct my path. I was so much free to move any way I liked, going through objects that would have been impossible to pass through by ordinary people. This gave me a new feeling which I couldn't describe. It was more like I was enjoying what I was doing right now."Let's see how mighty and great you are, Demonic

Lisa's POVMy entire body became covered with this white light that blinded even me. I couldn't even see any of my teammates who were doing battle or the undead creatures which were rapidly coming out of the ground to fight us. With this situation I felt that I'd been isolated from the entire world.Soon the light cleared and I could see again. I could see the others resume their fight against the undead creatures while keeping an eye on me. They all wore shocked expressions as if they didn't expect me to finally awaken my ability at the last moment. The most shocked of them all was Stephanie who had quarreled with me an hour ago."All my life I've been mocked by others and trampled upon," I silently muttered to myself as I clenched my other fist which wasn't wielding a sword, my eyes firmly on Althea who was still struggling to prevent the Demonic Wolf from crashing to the ground. "I have to change that today and show that I'm not entirely useless as everyone thinks."I took on a fig

Lisa's POV.When the Demonic Wolf appeared, I was really terrified. This was because I'd never seen anything like this. It easily towered over us like a small mountain and had a terrifying aura capable of crushing everyone. If not for the others around I would have already run away in order to escape from this powerful creature. But then, would that have made any difference? Hence, I decided to stay and fight no matter what. Although I was the ordinary one here I decided to give it my all and defeat this powerful Demonic Wolf which was after our lives.I wielded my sword, slashing the undead humanoid creatures it has summoned to attack us. It seemed as if it thought itself to be too powerful to do anything to us. Hence it sent its lackeys. This thought filled me with the determination to kill this Demonic Wolf or whatever it called itself."Find away to attack the Demonic Wolf!" I heard Faelan's voice. "If we don't kill it we will have to fight these undead creatures. And when that ha

Lisa's POVI continued running, not for once looking back at my friends. I was so angry right now and I needed to vent my feelings or else it would turn out bad for me. I wasn't very good when it came to bottling up feelings. Every time I became angry or hurt I'd do one or two things to release the negative feelings. And that was what I was going to do right now that my friends had made me angry.I finally stopped running, bending over as I panted heavily. I was already drenched in sweat which made my dress to stick to my body like glue. It wasn't a pleasant feeling but there was nothing I'd be able to do about it. My condition wasn't good right now and I needed to do something in order to feel better. After some minutes I finally recovered, my breathing becoming normal. Lisa's POVFinding the light within us? This seems like a fantasy we've been told to keep us in bondage. To be honest I was beginning to feel a little doubtful about everything. I mean, we've been trying to find our light and connect with our guardians for a long period of time now.Well, at first we felt something. We really felt a connection and our body radiated with ethereal light which seemed to come from the dawn of existence. I really felt myself brimming with this primordial energy. But then, that was all to it. I didn't feel any change, I didn't feel any strength and I didn't feel any difference. I was just the same old me, Lisa Kay. I was just the ordinary young girl or woman or female...whatever they call it. I was just someone filled with emptiness. If it was up to me I would have really given up on all this. Seraphina’s POVThe forest seemed to come alive as we ventured onward, each step igniting the vibrant magic woven into its very fabric. The air was thick with the scent of blooming blossoms and damp earth, as if the forest itself breathed in tandem with us. I could sense the spirits of the guardians guiding us, their presence like a warm embrace, assuring us that we were on the right path.“Where do you think we should go first?” Althea asked, turning her attention to the winding trails branching out before us. Each path appeared to beckon with its own mysteries.“Perhaps we should seek out the elders in Eldoria,” I suggested, recalling the Keeper’s wisdom about gathering knowledge. “They possess insights and histories that could empower our journey.”Faelan raised an eyebrow, his expression animated. “The Elders of Light! They are the ancient wisdom bearers of our realm. If anyone can guide us in nurturing our newfound abilities, it’s them.”The prospect of meeting the Elders sparked
