Lisa’s POV
“It’s a baby Lisa! Have some mercy!” Andre yelled at me that night. I had confronted him immediately in our bed room. “I don’t care! I don’t want to see her here!” I screamed louder. I was this close to losing it. “I can’t send her away, she has my child,” he grumbled. “What! I can’t believe the nerve— I sneered— you cheated on me and brought back a receipt and you had the guts to throw it in my face? What of me? My— ” I was about to tell him about my own baby when he interrupted me. “My hands are tied,” he announced. “So you are going to sit there like a dummy and do nothing?” I turned my head to the side. The next thing I know is I am being shoved. Andre pinned me to the wall. “I have had enough of your stupid attitude.“ He growled. “If you had quietly gotten pregnant, this would not be the case!” he warned me. “What?” I gasped. Shock reverberated through my body. I couldn’t believe those words were coming from Andre. My Andre. Andre walked out of the room. I slowly sank to the floor and tears began to flow. And so that night, sleep came and stole me away. The sun penetrated through the partition in the room. That was how I knew it was morning. I blinked my eyes to reality and, my brain dredged up the last thing I heard from the night before. My heart was heavy but the one that stuck like glue was Andre’s last words. “We have waited for 3 years without a child and I am not going to turn my back on the one woman who has my child.” Although he mumbled that he would find the lady a house but I doubted if he would actually do it. ******** “Who is there?! Please don’t break down my door!” Becky screamed from inside. She opened the pigeon hole, peeped, and then proceeded to open the door. “Jeez! Girl you…. Oh my god Lisa, what’s wrong your eyes are swollen!?” I flung my arms around her and tears pulled in my eyes. She managed to calm me down and I told her the whole story. “What do you plan to do?” she asked. “Honestly I don’t know” I said. Then I remembered my parents. “Please Becky don’t tell them I told you this,” I pleaded. She nodded. “Your secret is safe with me.” I knew that if my parents were to know, they would definitely not take this lightly. Especially my father. I want to handle this as quick as I can. “I will handle this,” I said aloud to Becky’s hearing. She looked at me. Worry etched on her face. Honestly I wouldn’t handle anything. All I wanted to do was to lock myself in my room and cry. ******* I was in the kitchen the next day, trying to make myself breakfast when my phone rang. The maids were not around. My heart skipped when I saw the caller ID. I quickly washed my hands and walked out of the house. “Hello dad” I whispered. “Lisa why won’t you reply my messages?” “Dad I have been busy. You know married life and— “I spoke to Becky,” he said. I shut my eyes and cussed in my heart. That traitor. She said she would not tell anyone. “Lisa I want you to come home.” he said. “No dad I have a life here. I have a husband—” “Honey please come home, come to where you are loved. What you have there is barely a life.” “We miss you!” I heard my mum’s voice. Immediately I felt some nostalgia. Tears flooded my eyes. “I miss you too,” I responded. “Come home Lisa,” my father said. I looked behind and the house came to a view. I remembered when I was taunted and bullied. They said all I had were given to me by my father. I was hated for coming from wealth. That was why when Andre, asked me to marry him I readily agreed. I wanted to make something of my own, without the influence of my billionaire father. “No…no dad.” “What?” “Dad I will solve this out,” I said. I immediately plastered a big smile on my face and talked cheerfully till I ended the call. Before I went into the house, I wiped my tears and took a deep breath. I will fight this no way or the other. ******** I walked in on the most disgusting scene on my life. Andre’s side piece was in the kitchen. She was blasting the sex tape she had sent to me. I know this because I had accidentally put it on. Out of curiosity I let it play. Standing in the entrance of my kitchen and listening to it, I regretted ever putting it on. “Fuck baby..” Andre groaned. “Do you like that?” she purred like a cat as she batted her lashes. “Stop. Doing. That” he groaned. She knew what he was taking about. She knew that whenever she acted all innocent while she was riding him, it always gets him off. she continued doing that. “Oh fuck! You. Are. So. Sweet,” he groaned in between sentences as she began moving faster. Then he emptied himself in her. He signed deeply as he leaned on his hands to give her a deep kiss. “I love you” Andre said in between kisses as he began nibbling her neck. “Yea, are you sure of that” she said chucking. He bit her neck and she screamed in pain and pleasure. “Yea I am. I love you with all my heart” he said as she could feel his mouth pull up into a smile on her neck. “Well I am lucky to have you Baby. You make my life so beautiful” she said. “Fuck babe…I’m.. I’m” she gasped. She turned to me and smirked. I walked out of the kitchen and tears stuck to my eyes.Lisa’s POVAt this point I believe I had been cursed. On Monday, Shelly, because that was her name, the girl my husband cheated with, messed with my smoothie combination. She ate up all the apple. I swiftly told Andre and he told me to be more accommodating. That she was pregnant. I had to let that slide. On tuesday, she occupied the sitting room with her bitchy friends and they laughed like witches. I couldn’t concentrate on the book I was reading. On wednesday, she made Andre’s mother yell at me. She had told her series of things about me and when I entered the sitting room she stopped talking. Before Andre’s mother left, she warned me to let Shelly carry her baby to full term, since I didn’t want to get pregnant. That hurt me so bad, even though I was pregnant, it still hurt.On thursday, she told the delivery guy to take my package back, that this was the wrong address. I didn’t react so much because I didn’t want to stir up trouble. It was on Friday that I couldn’t take it anymo
Lisa’s POV 3 months later, after I finally picked the pieces of my life back, I went back to work with dad. He made me the chief Finance Officer. Honestly working was hard. It was a herculean task but I was up for the challenge. Well except for today.I sat in a fully air conditioned office but had beads of sweat running down my cheeks and no matter how many times I had swiped them away, there was more from where that came from. My phones and the land lines have been ringing none stop all morning. The company was on fire. Well Hypothetically.Over the weekend, a very damaging rumor arose like the stench from a refuse dump. It’s been said that Kay conglomerate were about to go bankrupt. I has had clients and customers breathing down my neck in the last 10hrs. She had begged and cried and barked and screamed. None worked. I ran my hand over my wavy locks, making it more of a mess, than it was before. I searched through my bag and took out a pack of tissues. I had exhausted the one i
Lisa's POVI leaned my back on my car. I was frustrated as I felt a sense of unease, the only thing that could be felt through me was the anger I felt towards Andre Luster, my ex husband.A black cloth was covered on my head as I wrapped it around my neck. I didn't want to be seen by anyone so at that moment I had to be discreet in hiding my identity otherwise before I would carry out my plans, it would flop right in my face. I was outside Andre's mansion and I could hear their happy laughters coming from inside. It seemed as though they were contented with everything. Happiness came knocking on their door at the expense of snatching my own happiness from me. I could feel them rubbing their perfect lives on my face and how they were taunting me with words I couldn't hear. The thought of everything felt as though a knife was plunged through my chest. Even if everyone turned their backs on me, I was still surprised on what came over Andre. The way he acted and how he instantly switche
LISA'S POV I sat at my desk, feeling stuck. Liam and I had been talking about getting Leo involved in the issue for as long as I could remember, but I still couldn't make up my mind."I don't know, Liam," I said, throwing up my hands. "I want to hurt Andre so bad, but involving Leo feels like a huge risk. Not after knowing what he is to us, I mean my father, it stresses me out.”Liam leaned back in his chair. "I get it, but think about what you could gain. You could take down Andre and his whole empire."I stood up and started pacing around the room. "I know, but it's not just about winning or losing. It's about me, and what I'm willing to do to get revenge."I grabbed my bag and headed out the door, my mind still racing. As I drove home, I couldn't shake off the feeling that I was in over my head. When I got home, I collapsed onto the couch, feeling exhausted. I thought about Leo, and what he was offering me. I thought about Andre, and how much I wanted to hurt him.But most of all,
LISA'S POV As I stared at the message "Sorry about your car" on my screen, I felt a chill run down my spine. I looked around nervously, feeling vulnerable and scared. Without hesitation, I quickly dialed Liam's number, my investigator."Liam, it's happening again," I said, trying to keep my voice steady. "I got a mysterious call, and my car crashed. I think someone's following me."Liam's voice turned serious. "Stay where you are, I'm on my way."Within minutes, Liam arrived at the scene, his expression concerned. "Tell me what happened," he said, as he approached me.I recounted the events, from the phone call to the car crash. Liam listened attentively, his eyes narrowing as he processed the information."Let me see the phone," he said, as I handed it over. He examined the screen, his eyes scanning the messages. "This number is registered to a company called 'Eclipse Enterprises'."My heart skipped a beat. "That sounds familiar."Liam's expression turned puzzled. "It should. Eclips
LISA'S POV As I sat across from Marcus, I couldn't help but notice the way he seemed to relish in the tension between us. His eyes sparkled with a knowing glint, and I felt a shiver run down my spine."You work with Leo, don't you?" I asked, trying to keep my tone neutral.Marcus raised an eyebrow, a small smile playing on his lips. "I do," he said, his voice low and smooth. "And I can show you the proof, if you'd like."He pulled out a small folder from his briefcase and slid it across the table to me. I hesitated for a moment before opening it, my heart racing with anticipation. The documents inside were damning - emails, memos, and financial records that all pointed to a deep-seated connection between Marcus and Leo. I felt uneasy for a moment, knowing that I was learning the truth somehow and I just was refusing to accept it. I mean I had just realized the extent of their involvement. But even as I stared at the evidence in front of me, I couldn't shake the feeling that Marcus wa
LISA'S POV I had heard all Marcus had to say, it was thoughtful of Leo to ask me to merge the branch, any other person seeing they had the opportunity could have just taken over everything, this was an offer to save and I was glad for it but one thing gave me an headache merely thinking about it, and it was everything my father would think and say about this. "I need to talk to my father about this," I said, my mind already racing with the conversation I would have to have.Marcus nodded understandingly. "Of course. I expected as much. You can't make a decision like this without him knowing."I stood up, smoothing out my dress. "Even though I'm handling the business now, he still needs to know what's going on."Marcus shrugged, standing up as well. "I get it. Family is important."As he adjusted his funny hat, I couldn't help but smile slightly. Maybe Marcus wasn't so bad after all."You see, I wasn't so harmful, was I?" Marcus said, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. "All you n
LISA'S POV My father brought the conversation back on track, his expression serious. "So, Lisa, what's going on with the business? You were saying something about a problem?"My mother's eyes widened, her interest piqued. "What's wrong, dear? Is everything okay?"I sighed inwardly, thinking that my mother's arrival would provide a welcome distraction from the conversation. But now, it seemed like she was only going to make things worse.I took a deep breath and launched into the story, telling my father everything that had happened - the struggles with the company, the financial issues, the meeting with Liam... everything. I left out Marcus's offer, saving it for the end.As I finished, my father's expression was thoughtful. "I had no idea it was this serious," he said.My mother's eyes were wide with concern. "Oh, Lisa, why didn't you tell us? We had no idea."I shook my head. "I didn't want to worry you. And besides, I thought Father knew already."My father's expression changed fr
Althea's POVAs I stood with the others far away from the Demonic Wolf, I couldn't help but think about how Lisa had saved me. To be honest, I didn't even expect her to save me on account of us quarrelling earlier. When I decided to hold back the Demonic Wolf and give everyone a chance to escape, I hadn't even expected anyone of them to come back for me. But somehow Lisa has acquired her ability, using it to come back for me. I would have died if not for her coming at the right moment to save me from the Demonic Wolf.My eyes lingered in the direction everyone was looking, hoping that Lisa would at least walk out of this. She had saved me from the Demonic Wolf, doing something very stupid later. And that thing was going off by herself to fight off the Demonic Wolf when she had not yet learnt how to control her ability. No one in the team could even take down the Demonic Wolf no matter what but she had gone off, hoping to finish off the Demonic Wolf. I didn't know if this was stupidity
Lisa's POVI've never been this confident in my entire life. It was like my courage had been multiplied several times after getting my shadow ability. It boosted my confidence and eliminated any fear and doubt that would have existed in my mind. My courage was unwavering just like a sturdy tree which could not be brought down despite the storm. Honestly, if someone had told me that I would become this confident I wouldn't have believed that person. I would have even insulted and quarrelled with that person for talking nonsense.Running through the shadow world was form. There was nothing like solids or liquids here. In fact there wasn't the existence of any object which could obstruct my path. I was so much free to move any way I liked, going through objects that would have been impossible to pass through by ordinary people. This gave me a new feeling which I couldn't describe. It was more like I was enjoying what I was doing right now."Let's see how mighty and great you are, Demonic
Lisa's POVMy entire body became covered with this white light that blinded even me. I couldn't even see any of my teammates who were doing battle or the undead creatures which were rapidly coming out of the ground to fight us. With this situation I felt that I'd been isolated from the entire world.Soon the light cleared and I could see again. I could see the others resume their fight against the undead creatures while keeping an eye on me. They all wore shocked expressions as if they didn't expect me to finally awaken my ability at the last moment. The most shocked of them all was Stephanie who had quarreled with me an hour ago."All my life I've been mocked by others and trampled upon," I silently muttered to myself as I clenched my other fist which wasn't wielding a sword, my eyes firmly on Althea who was still struggling to prevent the Demonic Wolf from crashing to the ground. "I have to change that today and show that I'm not entirely useless as everyone thinks."I took on a fig
Lisa's POV.When the Demonic Wolf appeared, I was really terrified. This was because I'd never seen anything like this. It easily towered over us like a small mountain and had a terrifying aura capable of crushing everyone. If not for the others around I would have already run away in order to escape from this powerful creature. But then, would that have made any difference? Hence, I decided to stay and fight no matter what. Although I was the ordinary one here I decided to give it my all and defeat this powerful Demonic Wolf which was after our lives.I wielded my sword, slashing the undead humanoid creatures it has summoned to attack us. It seemed as if it thought itself to be too powerful to do anything to us. Hence it sent its lackeys. This thought filled me with the determination to kill this Demonic Wolf or whatever it called itself."Find away to attack the Demonic Wolf!" I heard Faelan's voice. "If we don't kill it we will have to fight these undead creatures. And when that ha
Jake's POVI was about to kiss Lisa when I heard a very loud roar. Well, she heard it too and that interrupted our kiss. I was so upset that I wanted to immediately run towards the source of that roar and kill it with my bare hands. How dare it interrupt my first kiss with the woman I loved?I didn't have the chance to say anything to Lisa when the others. The main reason I'd actually come to meet her was to confess my feelings to her. But now everything I'd planned to say had been ruined. There was no way I'd be able to confess to Lisa now. It would be in the far future.I was still standing with my sword drawn when I felt this tremendous energy surge from the direction I'd been staring it. It was very powerful and almost overwhelmed me if not for the light within me. Even with the light, if I'd not awakened and connected with the guardian within me I would have been overwhelmed by this terrifying energy. I would have immediately died without knowing how and why.I turned to look at
Lisa's POVI continued running, not for once looking back at my friends. I was so angry right now and I needed to vent my feelings or else it would turn out bad for me. I wasn't very good when it came to bottling up feelings. Every time I became angry or hurt I'd do one or two things to release the negative feelings. And that was what I was going to do right now that my friends had made me angry.I finally stopped running, bending over as I panted heavily. I was already drenched in sweat which made my dress to stick to my body like glue. It wasn't a pleasant feeling but there was nothing I'd be able to do about it. My condition wasn't good right now and I needed to do something in order to feel better. After some minutes I finally recovered, my breathing becoming normal. I looked up at the moon which was shining brightly in the sky. Although there were tall trees in the forest they couldn't even obscure its radiance. It just stood in the sky, shining as if that was all that matters. I
Lisa's POVFinding the light within us? This seems like a fantasy we've been told to keep us in bondage. To be honest I was beginning to feel a little doubtful about everything. It wasn't as if I didn't believe the words of the Elders of Light but everything they said was hard to accomplish. I mean, we've been trying to find our light and connect with our guardians for a long period of time now.Well, at first we felt something. We really felt a connection and our body radiated with ethereal light which seemed to come from the dawn of existence. I really felt myself brimming with this primordial energy. But then, that was all to it. I didn't feel any change, I didn't feel any strength and I didn't feel any difference. I was just the same old me, Lisa Kay. I was just the ordinary young girl or woman or female...whatever they call it. I was just someone filled with emptiness. If it was up to me I would have really given up on all this. I would have stopped a long time ago, not following
Seraphina’s POVThe forest seemed to come alive as we ventured onward, each step igniting the vibrant magic woven into its very fabric. The air was thick with the scent of blooming blossoms and damp earth, as if the forest itself breathed in tandem with us. I could sense the spirits of the guardians guiding us, their presence like a warm embrace, assuring us that we were on the right path.“Where do you think we should go first?” Althea asked, turning her attention to the winding trails branching out before us. Each path appeared to beckon with its own mysteries.“Perhaps we should seek out the elders in Eldoria,” I suggested, recalling the Keeper’s wisdom about gathering knowledge. “They possess insights and histories that could empower our journey.”Faelan raised an eyebrow, his expression animated. “The Elders of Light! They are the ancient wisdom bearers of our realm. If anyone can guide us in nurturing our newfound abilities, it’s them.”The prospect of meeting the Elders sparked
Seraphina’s POVAs the sun climbed higher, illuminating the glade with its warm embrace, I felt a shift within me a surge of determination to honor the promise we had made. Each whisper of the wind felt like a gentle nudge, guiding us toward our fate. Althea and Faelan, standing resolute beside me, reflected the same resolve. Our journey together had transformed the weights we carried into wings.“Let’s move forward,” I said, my voice steady. “We’ve tapped into the essence of our light, but we must now discover how to apply it.”Althea nodded, her eyes glistening with excitement. “There’s so much to uncover, and I can't shake the feeling that the forest still holds secrets meant for us alone.”With renewed purpose, we ventured deeper into the heart of the forest. The air crackled with energy as we followed an unseen path one that felt alive and woven with magic. Each step we took resonated with the bond we had forged amidst adversity; it was as if the forest itself acknowledged our co
