Chapter 29: Desperate Calls

LISA'S POV

I couldn't help but quickly Leo's number, at this point I couldn't help it, we needed to fasten the whole marriage thing. I needed someone to talk to, someone who could help me make Andre pay for what he had done. Marcus, Leo's personal assistant, picked up on the first ring.

"Ah, Lisa," Marcus said, his tone dripping with sarcasm. "How lovely to hear from you. I was just sitting here, twiddling my thumbs, waiting for your call."

I rolled my eyes, despite knowing he couldn't see me. "Marcus, cut the act. I need to speak to Leo."

"Oh, Leo," Marcus said, his voice heavy with fake concern. "He's a busy man, Lisa. But I'm sure he'll drop everything to speak to you. After all, you're the love of his life."

I gritted my teeth, trying to keep my patience. "Marcus, stop. Just put Leo on the phone."

"Fine, fine," Marcus said, sighing dramatically. "But don't say I didn't warn you. He's not in the best of moods today."
