Evander's sneer widened at Senna's comment. "If I wanted to kill you, it wouldn’t be here. Get out, now!" He exited the car first.

Senna hesitated before opening the car door. The night breeze brushed her skin, sending chills down her spine as Evander headed towards a building.

Her breath was heavy, torn between relief at the sight of a receptionist and anxiety about Evander's plans in such a place.

Evander grasped her hand. "Come on, I've booked a room for us."

"Evander, are you sure about staying at this small hotel? We should just head back to the capital," Senna whispered. "Aren't you afraid of ghosts haunting this place?"

"You watch too many horror movies. Relax, nothing's going to happen. It's better we stay. It's late; you don’t want an accident from driving drowsy, do you?"

Senna swallowed hard, worry still clinging. "Fine, but only for one night."

Evander smiled, satisfied. "Of course, just one night."

They arrived at a room. "Here’s your room!"
